《Far Too Little (Age Regression)》13. Sickies
Advertisement
Routine began to set in as David went back to work. Every weekday David would leave early, I'd wake up Wren and we'd cause chaos until David got back. Some times days out with Alex or jam would be thrown in too.
Occasional fusses from Wren but never anything too bad.
Until Wren got sick.
The day started off normal, I woke up and David was gone. he stuck a little sticky note to forehead to tell me when he'd be back and that he loves me. he gets back at the same time everyday but it's really cute.
I showered and got dressed, did a few chores around the house until I heard Wren scream.
"DADDY!"
His voice sounded strained and was followed by plenty of coughing , I ran to his room.
I found Wren in his crib, sniffling.
"oh baby bear, what wrong"
"icky!"
He just kept crying as I picked him up and felt his heavy diaper.
"let's get you changed, huh baby?
I placed Wren on the changing table and took off his onesie. As I changed him Wren just cried more. I felt his forehead, he was burning up.
"Aw Baby bear, are you not feeling well?"
Wren covered his face and shook his head.
I cleaned him up and taped him into a new diaper. Sitting him up, he made grabby hands for me to pick him up. I obliged and held him in the armchair
"Sweetie, where do you feel sick?"
"head huwrt an thro huwrt an nose stuffy an eryting else!"
He was cut off by a sneeze, no two sneezes, no three sneezes in a row.
They sounded like kitten sneezes
"aw huney I think you have a bit of a cold, let's dress you up all cosy and get you something for your headache
I went to put Wren down but he clung to me so I carried him over to the wardrobe to pick out a warm soft onesie for him.
I struggled to slip Wren into the onesie as he fussed and wouldn't let go of my shirt.
"Baby bear you have to let go for just a second"
"nuuuu"
I pried Wren's fists off my shirt just long enough to get his skinny arms through the right holes. I grabbed a few blankets and his stuffies and we headed to the sitting room.
I was gonna get Wren into a comfy nest of the couch but he refused to let go of me.
"nu Dada nu!"
"Wren I'm just going to get you some water and some medicine, you'll be fine."
Wren started to tear up
"Dada no leave, make icky better!"
He stuttered. I relented
"Alright fine"
I carried Wren into the kitchen and grabbed a baby bottle of water, a jar of baby food and some headache medicine with a spoon. Once I grabbed the medicine bottle I felt that it was nearly empty. I'd certainly be needing it later if Wren still has a headache.
I carried everything back to the sitting room and sat down with Wren in my lap. I poured out the very last of the medicine onto the spoon and held it to Wren's lips.
"come on Wren, open up"
"no"
"Wren please, it'll make you feel better I promise"
Wren whined and huffed but opened his mouth and took the medicine. He swallowed it, waited a few seconds then started whining again.
"Still huwrt! No work"
I chuckled as Wren crossed his arms and pouted.
"baby, it's takes a little while to work"
Wren whined and smashed his head into my chest.
"now you may be sick but you still have to eat, so how's some applesauce sound?"
Wren shrugged. I took small spoonfuls and began slowly feeding Wren. I would hold the spoon to his lips and he would softly nom on it, happily once he reailised what applesauce was. Pretty soon Wren ate a whole jar. That was well enough
"very good baby bear, now let's get this water into you"
Wren whined as I held the nipple to his lips
"no wanna, icky"
"baby bear, you need to stay hydrated, come on, drink up"
After a little more convincing Wren took the bottle
_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
I didn't realise how thirsty I was until I started drinking. I started drinking faster, wanting my sore throat to be cooled.
"Wren, slow down, your gonna make yourself sick"
I slowed down, not wanting to add vomit into this mix.
As i suckled daddy pulled a blanket over me. I whined and fussed as water stopped coming out and daddy pulled the nib away. He calmed me with a paci and teased my fussiness
"Do i have a fussy little boy? You're adorable you know, absolutely precious"
I whined as daddy continued to whisper sweet words to me
"How's your headache doing sweetie?"
My headache was gone, my throat wasn't as sore but my nose was still blocked and it still kinda hurt to move.
"
head no hurwt, bu nose stuffy an hur oo move n tired"
"aw baby bear, I'm sorry, how about i run you a nice warm bath. It'll clear up your nose and help your muscles a bit. Then you can have a nap"
I just hummed and nodded.
Daddy picked me and carried me to bathroom. He ran the tap and started to undress me. I whined and fussed as he did but daddy shushed my cries.
He threw my diaper away and would've sat me on the rug if i hadn't clung to him. Daddy was being silly, thinking he could leave me.
Daddy added the nice smelling bubbly stuff and let the bath run a little longer. Before turning it off, checking the temperature and gently placing me in the bath. He layed me back but held head up
"Just relax baby"
I did and it was absolute bliss, Daddy gently washed me with a cloth and the smelly stuff cleared my nose.
I gurgled and cooed as daddy ran his fingers through my hair and whispered even more sweet things to me.
"How you feeling darling?"
"good daddy, i tired"
"i'm sure you are"
Daddy took me out of the bath, popped my paci back into my mouth and wrapped me up a towel, drying me off.
Once i was dry Daddy carried me to the nursery and laid me on the changing table. I whined and reached for him, just wanting to be held. Daddy quickly changed me into a thick white diaper covered in baby blocks and picked me back up.
"now what pyjamas do you wanna wear baby bear"
Daddy tickled me and I giggled but it turned into a slight cough.
Daddy ruffled through my wardrobe and pulled out two items. The first was a onesie covered in sharks but they were kinda scary so i shook my head.
The second was a top and bottom with alice from wonderland on it. Daddy and Papa had been reading it to me for story time and It was so pretty!
"dat one daddy"
"ok baby boy"
Daddy got me changed and rocked me. My eyes got heavy but as he tried to put me in my crib my eyes shot open and i clung to him.

"Daddy no leave!"
"Come on baby bear, you have to take a nap"
I started to tear up
"Daddy nap wif me"
"I dunno baby bear"
"peas daddy!"
I gave him some big watery puppy eyes
"how could I say no to you"
Daddy bounced me and I giggled. He grabbed my stuffies, my blanket and a story.
He carried me into their big bedroom
"Not a word of this to Papa, ok baby boy?"
I giggled softly and nodded.
Daddy tucked me into the middle of the huge king sized bed. He then covered me with my blankie, put my stuffies next to me and climbed in.
I felt a little bad that I abandoned my stuffies to cuddle up to daddy. Bearemy certainly understood but stuffie was a mess, I'd have to give him a time out later.
"Alice in wonderland?"
I nodded excitedly. Daddy chuckled
"calm down baby bear"
I blushed and buried my face into his chest as Daddy started reading.
"One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree. 'Which road do I take?' she asked. 'Where do you want to go?' was his response. 'I don't know,'
Alice answered. 'Then,' said the cat, 'it doesn't matter."

Ricky sent me a text while I was at work, saying Wren was sick, he just put him down for a nap and that they were out of headache medicine.
I'd have to do that on my way home, right now I'm swamped. Or at least I thought I was until Mr Ambrose, my boss, came in the door.
"Nightshade, you must be running a sweatshop, your team has closed ten times more cases than anyone else in this entire company. well done!"
"why thank you sir but if have to give more credit to my team, there the ones doing the hard work"
"nonsense, they were the most useless set of idiots I had ever met until I gave them to you. I thought you could use the challenge Ha ha. Now look at em.
You've really whipped them into shape"
"Ah it was nothing Mr Ambrose"
"Nightshade you're far too modest, take the rest of the day off, your team too, I know you've got yourself a family, head on home to them"
He chuckled
"Thank you Mr Ambrose"
He left, I pulled together my bag, put on my coat and headed down to my teams floor. The elevator opened and I stepped out. Everyone's eyes were on me.
"Everyone! We are now the best sales team in company!"
Most cheered
"Go on home early, you all deserve it, next week I'll bring cake!"
Everyone cheered.
I drove home casually after picking up some baby headache medicine, some normal headache medicine(Wren's cries can really make migraines come on), some cough drops for Wren's throat and a little present for Wren.
I pulled into the drive and got out of the car. Bag and suitcase in one hand, I opened the door. It was Wren's naptime so I wouldn't have expected Wren to notice me but there was no Ricky.
Where is the godforsaken twink?
There was evidence of them being here, The couch was covered in pillows and blankets.
I took off my coat, set down my bags and checked Wren's nursery. Nothing, that was worrying. Did they go out?
I was about to call Ricky when I heard snoring coming from our room. There's only one person I know who snores like that
"Jesus Christ"
I muttered to myself as I opened the bedroom door and found Ricky fast asleep with Wren, awake poking his cheek, trying to wake him up but to no avail. They were surrounded by Wren's blankie and stuffies and Alice in wonderland.
Wren whined in frustration, I chuckled. Wren snapped his head around to me
"Hey there princess!"
"Papa!"
His voice sounded real strained
Wren crawled to the edge of the bed and I picked him up. I carried him out of the room, leaving Ricky to sleep. He'd need some energy for later ;)
I brought Wren into the nursery and sat with him in the armchair
"Bubba I heard you were sick"
Wren nodded, he sniffed, his stuffy nose very obvious.
I grabbed a tissue out of my pocket and held it to his nose
"blow bubba"
Wren blew his nose and I threw away the tissue
" Does your throat still hurt?"
Wren nodded, a little frown on his face.
"Don't worry bubba, I'll make it better. Let's get you into a fresh diaper first cause yours smells pretty full"
I laughed when blush spread across Wren's face. He whined as I layed him down. He fussed while I changed him but I stopped it by tickling him. Wren squealed and giggling, begging for me to stop.
Eventually I relented.
I carried Wren into the living room, grabbed the plastic bag and sat down, with Wren still clinging to my neck, in the pillow blanket nest that was the couch.
I pulled out the couch drops
"If you suck these they'll make your throat feel better"
I took out Wren's pacifier and gave him one. He popped it in his mouth. They were meant for small children so they'd melt quickly and tasted decent.
"you wanna watch a movie princess?"
Wren nodded and cuddled into me, I draped a blanket over us as I scrolled through Netflix kids.
"How about..."
I couldn't decide, there were so many. How fast are they making these movies.
"Da un"
Wren said and I stopped on the movie he wanted, Matilda. Ricky always adored this movie
"Ok, you're the princess"
Wren giggled.
About half way through the movie I remembered and paused the movie.
Wren whined
"Shhh bubba, I forgot that I got you a present to make you feel better"
I pulled the stuffed elephant out of the bag
Wren's eyes lit up, he snuggled into it
"Do they have a name baby?"
Wren thought for a moment
"Topsy"
"Awwww"
We both looked up and saw Ricky standing there. His intense bedhead was back and he had Wren's baby blanket draped over his shoulders.
"Ah so you've decided to grace us with your presence, your majesty"
Ricky laughed and sat next to us
"What are you doing home so early"
"Mr Ambrose let me leave early."
"Cool! What are we watching"
Wren answered
"Ma-ilda!"
Ricky gasped and punched my shoulder
" You should've woken me up, I love this movie!"
Wren giggled and I stuck the movie back on.
About 15 minutes later I got a call, looking at my phone, it was from Andrew.
"It's Andrew, I'll be right back"
I handed Wren off to Ricky, Wren whined and reached for me but Ricky shushed him and assured that I'd be right back.
I walked into the kitchen and answered the call.
"Hey Andrew, what's up man?"
"Um hey David, I know this is really short notice but can I ask a favour?"
"Yeah man shoot"
"Can you look after Jamie for me tomorrow? A shift just opened up and I need to take it and Jamie's normal day care is closed cause of fumigation so I can't find anywhere else"
" Of course that's ok, I'm just gonna check with Ricky"
"ok"
I peeped my head into the sitting room.
"hey Ricky, Wren'll be fine tomorrow right?"
"yeah, he's feeling pretty alright now so he should be grand tomorrow, why?"
"Andrew's wondering if we can look after Jams tomorrow"
"Jam fweind!"
Wren was getting excited and started bouncing on Rickys lap.
I headed back into the kitchen and continued the call
"Its all clear here"
"That's great! Thank you guys so much, I don't know what I'd do without if I didn't have yous"
"Its fine man, have a good day"
"You to-
Jam no! "
I could hear a crash on the other end as the call ended.
I could tell tomorrow was gonna be eventful.
