Faith let out a laugh at the sight of Damon tied up in a chair in the middle of the Salvatore living room. Stefan followed after her with her leather jacket in his hands and let out a chuckle at the sight of his brother. "What the hell happened to you?" He asked while handing Faith her jacket.
They had both woken up from last night's activities in his room. They came to a mutual agreement that there were no feelings attached especially since Stefan had no humanity at the moment.
"Whatever twisted ripper game this is, leave me out of it," Damon glowered as the two walked up to him. "Oh, and next time make sure I'm not home when the two of you decided to have sex."
"I didn't do this," Stefan shrugged, ignoring the last part.
"Quit screwing around!"
"He didn't do it," Faith repeated as Stefan began to check the chains. "We barely woke up."
"It's pretty messed up though, isn't it?" Stefan inquired.
"Yep," his brother groaned.
Without warning, Stefan took out the iron stuck from Damon's chest. The sudden action made the raven-haired vampire scream in pain to which Faith chuckled. He glared in return as Stefan only removed a chain from his wrist before walking away.
"Yeah, don't worry," Damon called out to his brother.
He turned to Faith who picked up his ring with interest. "Faith, be nice for once and help me out."
She raised an eyebrow and dropped the ring back on the floor. "I'm sure you can do that yourself and I have better plans."
"Sure, I'll just untangle myself!"
Faith glanced back with a smirk. "Glad to know we're on the same page, Salvatore."

Faith walked around the town square with Stefan after being in the little meeting with Elena and Alaric.
"Why are you following me?" Stefan asked as they walked down the street.
"You haven't answered my question from this morning," Faith grinned at the vampire, knowing the annoyance he was causing him.
"Ah," Stefan smiled, sarcastically. "The one about why Klaus wants you protected also when he doesn't need you."
Faith grinned as they walked past a black car. "Exactly."
She paused as Stefan stopped walking next to her. She turned around to see a blonde vampire wearing a black leather jacket similar to the one she's wearing. Stefan looked at her with surprise. "Lexi?"
"Hi," she smiled, glancing between Faith and Stefan.
"As in your-brother-killed-your-best-friend Lexi?" Faith asked and looked at the blonde. "You're dead."
"Technically so is he," Lexi motioned toward Stefan.

"Yeah, I'm going to go over there," Faith began walking backward only to bump into someone.
She turned around to meet with familiar frightening emerald eyes. Her blue eyes widened at the woman in front of her. "Mother?"
Circe smiled, sinisterly at her daughter. Faith's breath was caught in her throat as she felt it harder to breathe. Unconsciously, she stepped back in panic and fright. Emerald shined menacing at Faith's actions before looking behind her daughter at the vampires. "I'll be taking my daughter for some... much-needed discipline. If you'll excuse us."
She grabbed harshly onto Faith's upper arm before disappearing from the vampires' sight.

"Please," Faith begged with her eyes roaming around the familiar brick walls of the basement. "Mother, please."
She let out an agonizing scream as two long iron nails rammed into the middle of her palms. Her chest heaved up and down as tears began to well up. Bright red blood trailed down her palms. She whimpered and looked at her injured hands. They were pressed against the brick wall behind her with the nails.
"You're the reason I died," Circe hissed. "No amount of begging will get you out of here. You have no one to save you."
She walked toward her daughter sitting against the brick wall. She grabbed her by her chin and stared at her. "Did you really think you could hide that brat from me?"
Faith's eyes widened and she began to struggle against her hold. She didn't care about the anguishing pain from the middle of her palms as the nails dug deeper into her skin. "Don't fucking hurt her!"
She glared at Circe with fury blue eyes. The older woman stepped back with a satisfied smirk at her reaction. A knife floated between the two and it inched closer to the siphoner. "Or what? You're helplessly trapped here."
Faith suddenly smirked. "You don't know where she is."

Her scream of pain echoed in the basement as the knife stabbed her just below her ribs. She coughed and blood dripped down the corner of her lips. A smirk was still present on her lips as she looked at her mother. Emerald eyes were dark with fury at the siphoner's smugness. "You should blame yourself. You're the one who taught me how to tell when someone lied, Mother."
"You're an abomination," Circe seethed. "I taught you nothing. You will always be an inconvenience to everyone around you. Even to your so-called daughter. You will never be able to protect her because you're just a big waste of space!"
"And you killed your father! You're the reason he died! If he had only chosen me over you, he wouldn't have to die! I wouldn't have to kill him!"

While she was talking, Circe made the knife pierce and slash Faith's skin even where her clothes covered her body. The knife hovered above her chest where her heartbeat furiously under her skin. Blood covered her body, not an inch left uncovered. Slowly, Faith raised her head and looked at her mother with emotionless eyes. "So you did kill him. Just because he loves me more than you. You sociopathic jealous skank!"
Enraged, Circe grabbed a hammer into her hand and crouched down in front of her daughter. "He should've chosen me! His wife!"
She raised the hammer above her head. Faith only closed her eyes. She didn't have an ounce of fight inside her, anymore. She wished she was strong enough to keep fighting for Dani. The little girl she loves and she wished she was strong enough to protect.
But Circe was right.
Faith was only an inconvenience. A weak abomination. She couldn't even fight against her mother.
"That's enough, Circe."
The hammer was never brought down to her leg, instead a male voice filled the quiet basement.
A strong hand held the hammer from being brought down causing Circe to look behind her. Her eyes widened at the sight of her late ex-husband. Crystal blue eyes with amber blonde hair stood Daniel Woods over his ex-wife.
"Daniel," Circe gasped, losing her grip on the hammer.
Noticing her loose grip, Daniel pulled the hammer from her grip and threw it to the side. He glared at the raven-haired and emerald-eyed woman he used to love. He began chanting in Latin making Circe's eyes widened as she was pushed across the basement backward. He latched the siphoning chains onto her wrists and ankles just like she used to do with Faith.
After making sure she wasn't able to escape, he rushed toward his injured daughter. "Faith?" He placed his hands on each side of her face, gently. "Hey, can you hear me?"
"Dad?" Faith whispered as she struggled to keep her eyes open. She had lost a lot of blood over the past hours of torture.
Tears welled up in Daniel's eyes, "Yes, sweetheart. It's me, your dad. I'm so sorry for leaving you, baby."
Faith's tears finally fell as she began sobbing at the sound of her father's voice. "Dad, I missed you! I tried so hard to be strong!"
"I know," Daniel moved her raven hair away from her face. "I know and I'm sorry. You don't know how sorry I am for leaving her with you."
Faith continued to cry, but then she started to cough up blood. Worried, Daniel hurried to pull the nails from her palms. His heart tightened at the yells of pain coming from her daughter. The guilt was eating him up from dying, leaving his daughter with his ex-wife and watching over the years of his daughter being tortured.
Carefully, he picked up Faith into his arms. He glared at Circe when she came into his vision. She smirked, sinisterly. "You should've chosen me then she wouldn't have those scars on her."
"The Bennett witch is taking you back to your home, Circe," Daniel remarked. "I'm sure you know it very well. It's called hell."
"Daniel!" Circe struggled against the chains as he vanished from the basement with their daughter. "Get back here!"

"Damon Salvatore," Daniel spoke from inside the Salvatore living room behind the vampire.
He rolled his eyes but kept his eyes on the glass of bourbon in hand and didn't turn around. "Look, I've been stabbed all day and I got some good news a few hours ago, I would like to keep that way."
Daniel smiled with amusement. "I see Mason Lockwood told you about the Mikaelson cave."
Damon narrowed his eyes suspiciously and finally turned around. His eyes hardened at the sight of Faith in the man's arm. He took a step closer toward him but immediately felt pain in his head. He groaned from the pain and held his head. "What did you do to her?" He struggled to say.
"Circe Everly happened," Daniel answered. "Though I don't like the people my daughter chose as friends, you seemed to be one of them. I need you to take care of her. Circe killed me so I couldn't protect her. I want you to promise me you would protect my daughter, Damon."
"You're Faith's father?" Damon groaned but paused when Daniel increased the pain. "Yes, I promise."
"Good," Daniel instantly stopped the pain and handed the vampire his daughter. "She might be on the wrong side of all of this, but she only wants to protect her daughter. Just how I wanted to protect her."
Daniel paused as he felt his magic fading. "Keep her safe, but don't try to control her. She has my personality; doesn't like to be told unless she agrees to it. I have put a healing spell on her so she should be looking better in a few minutes, but she would need lots of rest."
"Got it," Damon looked down at the wounded siphoner. When he looked up, Daniel Woods vanished into thin air.

The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
