《[I] Freedom {Klaus Mikaelson}》XIX. Old Scars

Faith was running late for school. She had woken up with a voicemail from her mother that she didn't listen to since she was rushing to find some clothes. All her clothes were either dirty and needed cleaning or in her apartment in New Orleans. She could only find a thin long sleeve gray crop top and high waisted shorts that went down a little lower than her mid-thighs. Faith had never worn anything that was shorter than knee length since she had many scars on her thighs made by her mother.
But she didn't have much of a choice to look for anything else. She would rather have everyone in school see her scars than a call be made to her mother saying she was late for class.
She combed her frizzy curly hair back with her hand as she appeared in the empty hallway in front of Alaric's classroom. She grabbed the handle to pull it open but it was locked. Alaric never locked the door or closed it.
She knocked on the door and seconds later it swung open to reveal Alaric. She showed him the dual mischievous smile. "Hey, Ric. Sorry, I'm late, I had car trouble."
Klaus looked at the girl in front of him. It was Faith Everly. She looked the same as the picture Circe had shown him in the morning. She also looked like the little girl in Elijah's picture that he carried in his pocket except older.
"Um, are you going to let me in?" Faith questioned as Alaric looked at her weirdly. She frowned as the history teacher stepped to the side, letting her pass him. He didn't show her the usual awkward smile he has, especially since she was the enemy to them.
She narrowed her eyes to Alaric as he continued class. Something was off about him.

Faith got stuck painting posters for the 60's dance during lunch. She hadn't eaten since the dinner party, not like it mattered to her much. However, she still needed something to eat before her body shut down.
"What? What are you gonna do?"
Faith looked up to see Jeremy and Bonnie walking up to the cafeteria table she was using to paint the posters. They looked at each other with intensity. Not the kind where they want to make out, the kind where they were fighting. They didn't seem to realize Faith was across the table from them as she listened to their conversation.
The siphoner tightened the grip on her paintbrush as Elena walked up to the couple with a lunch tray. "Hey, Jer. How are you doing? Are you okay at the house alone with John?"

"It's not ideal," Jeremy said, dismissively. His eyes are still on his girlfriend.
"You haven't heard from Jenna, have you?" Elena asked, oblivious to the tension between the couple.
"It looks like she's staying on campus. Look I'm...I'm late for class," he said and left the two girls.
The two friends looked at each other and made a movement to sit down.
"Go find another table," Faith spoke up. The two girls looked at her, realizing she was standing there. "Before I snap both your necks in front of everyone in this cafeteria."
"Faith, we need to talk," Elena spoke, softly.
Faith rolled her eyes. "Oh, stop with the desperate talk. You think I'm going to help you if you talk to me nicely. I'm not helping unless Elijah comes back alive, so don't even try."
Before they could argue, a random girl walked up to them, catching the attention of all three girls. "Hey, Faith, there you are. Okay. This is going to sound freaky, but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight."
Faith scowled. "No, I'm not. Now leave."
"You could at least meet him," the girl pleaded. "He'll be at the dance tonight. Look for him, his name is Klaus."
Faith eyes widened at the name. Then she remembered the voicemail she had from her mother that she didn't listen to this morning. Her mother was back in Mystic Falls with Klaus.
"I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Elena asked, surprised along with Bonnie.
"His name's Klaus. I know the name's stupid, but I swear he's hot," the girl continued.
Bonnie looked around. "Where is he? Is he here?"
The girl's smile faltered. "I don't know."
"She's been compelled," Faith spoke up.
"He wants to know if Elena is going and if you'll save him the last dance. How cute is that?" She said and Faith wanted to snap her neck.

"I can kill him, Elena. I know I can," Bonnie told Elena after they explained Klaus was in Mystic Falls to the Salvatore brothers and Alaric.
Elena smiled, but then she frowned.
"What's wrong?" Stefan asked.
Elena glanced at everyone. "He was asking for Faith."
"What would he want with her?" Damon remarked, feeling angry at the mention of the girl.
"I don't know," Elena shrugged. "He asked for her first."
Damon frowned. "When she came with Elijah at the dinner party, she said she trusted him with her life and something about being an Everly."
They all looked at each other as they let the information sink in. They knew Faith could be in danger.

"Oh no," Damon began, angrily. "We're not protecting her. She chose who to trust and it's obviously not us. So she could die for all I care."
"Damon," Elena pleaded. "My rules. She was only trying to keep the people she cares about safe from what Caroline told us. That means Elijah."
The dark-haired glared at the brunette. "What Jeremy and Matt? What about me?"
They became silent. They realized the vampire cared for the siphoner more than he wanted to admit.

"Faith," Circe looked at her daughter with cold emerald eyes. "You didn't answer my phone call this morning."
"I'm sorry, Mother," Faith mumbled as she walked up to the porch of the house where Circe stood. "I needed to get to school."
"No need to apologize," Circe's eyes glinted with ominous. "You won't have to worry about school anymore."
"What do you-" Faith couldn't finish her question as Circe raised her hand and placed it on her forehead.
The mother smirked at the sight of her daughter collapsing to the wooden porch. Circe looked up at Maddox with a smirk. "Well, let's get going. We would need her for when the full moon arrives."

Faith groaned. "Deja vu."
She woke up tied up to a chair with chains. The chains blocked any magic from being used. She looked around at the small apartment.
"Oh, good." Faith met eyes with a familiar brunette vampire. "You're awake. I was dying of boredom."
Faith narrowed her eyes on the vampire. "Please don't tell me you just made a pun, Katerina."
She smirked at the siphoner. "Have some fun, Faith."
"I really can't," Faith said in a monotone voice. "I was kidnapped for the second time this year, but this time by my own mother. But that was kind of expected if I'm being honest and now I'm going to be sacrificed by Klaus Mikaelson."
Katherine frowned in confusion. "And why would you be sacrificed, little witch?"
"Because to break the seal, Klaus needs the magic of the first family witch ergo he needs my magic," Faith explained. "The curse was made with the help of an Everly witch."
"But you're a siphoner," Katherine said.
Faith shrugged. "I'm sure my sociopathic abusive mother found a spell for me to be used as a sacrifice instead of her."
"Now, Faith," Circe walked inside the room. "That's no way to talk about your mother."
"I'm only describing your characteristics, Mother," Faith smirked. "I think I was pretty spot on, don't you think?"
Circe smirked back at her daughter. She walked forward and her smirk grew as Katherine stepped back away from her. Circe's emerald eyes looked into her daughter's crystal blue eyes. The same blue eyes that made her feel loved by the girl's father. "You were so scared of me all these years. What changed?"
Faith glanced up at her mother and shrugged, nonchalantly. "Maybe it has to do with my mother sacrificing me, but you know it could be anything."
Her mother's expression turned emotionless and she placed her hand on either side of Faith's head. She began chanting causing Faith's eyes to widen as she felt white-hot pain surging through her body. Her body tensed and her fingernails dug into her palms. She let out yells of pain while tears streamed down her pale face.
She gasped as Circe backed away from her with a satisfied smirk. "It should take effect any minute now."
Katherine stepped out of the shadows. "What did you do to her?"
Circe shrugged, nonchalantly. "She'll just feel every wound I made on her body over the eleven years that caused her to bleed. I hope you have a strong control over your bloodlust, we wouldn't want her to die early."
She disappeared from the apartment. Cautiously, Katherine walked toward the siphoner. Faith's chest heaved, still feeling the pain coursing through her body even after the spell was made. Her blue eyes trailed up to look at Katherine.
"Careful, Katerina," Faith whispered, playfully. "If you keep that look, I just might think you have feelings."
"You're bleeding," Katherine pointed out.
Faith looked down at her arms and legs. Old scars were reopening as if they were freshly made. Red blood seeping through her long sleeves and shirt. She could feel the long scars on her stomach and back reopening.
"I'm sorry, Dani," Faith mumbled before her blue eyes closed and her head dropped to her chest. The pain was more than she could handle as she passed out.
Katherine didn't have to struggle with her bloodlust. She felt sorry for the life of the siphoner. The siphoner had thought of her daughter before she passed out, causing old memories to resurface.

One more chapter before season 2 ends and season 3 begins! Which means more Originals and Faith interactions! I don't know if some of y'all are going to be disappointed but there won't be many Faith and Dani scenes, sorry. But don't worry, I'm planning on continuing writing Faith into "The Originals" series so more mother daughter moments! I hope you continue to read about Faith's journey through her life.
I will be providing more info after I publish the the last chapter for season 2 in another chapter.
