It was senior prank night and Valerie was currently stationed in front of hundreds of mouse traps. Caroline had pressured them all into taking part of this.
The door opened and the lights turned on, then all of the mouse traps went off. "Oh come on! Seriously? Do you know how long it took to set this all up!" Clearly he had completely forgotten all about prank night.
Before Valerie had the chance to speak Tyler voiced his opinion "forgot about senior prank night, huh?" Matt looked around still stunned as he spoke "Clearly."
"How could you forget? We've only been waiting for this since like freshman year." Caroline spoke annoyed since now they had to set up all of the traps again. "Yeah, Matt. If I'm doing this, you're doing this." Elena didn't want to do this whilst her boyfriend was currently missing.
"I'm kind of surprised any of you are doing this." Valerie thought the same although she had been looking forward to this ever since her life went downhill. "Caroline's making us." Caroline glared at Bonnie.
"We're about to be seniors. These are the memories that will stay with us forever, and if we don't..." Caroline's sentence was cut short by Elena "And if we don't create these memories now, then what's the point of it all?" This was all Valerie wanted, to create new memories. Hopefully good ones.
"Go ahead and make fun, I don't care." Secretly everyone was having the same thoughts as Caroline. Ever since the whole Klaus business happened everyone had been more aware of their surroundings.
"You're all lame. And I've got ten more classrooms to prank." Elena is about to walk out just after Tyler.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Bonnie questions Elena, "To superglue Alaric's desk shut. I'm making memories." Caroline smiles at Elena "I love you!" Valerie gets up to follow her sister "Hey where do you think your leaving to?" Caroline thought everyone was leaving to go home. "I'm going to help Elena, Care"

Valerie left the classroom and looked for Elena. She heard a struggle and quickly rushed to her locker where her archery bow was hidden. Valerie always had her bow with her in case of emergency's - it was how she protected herself, especially since she found out about the supernatural side of the world. She walked up towards the double doors and opened them.
"GO!" Elena warned her sister wanting to keep her safe but Valerie did not listen. She looked over to Elena only to be found struggling against who she was assuming to be Klaus. She aimed her arrow at Klaus and shot it through the room, the arrow landing right next to his heart. Klaus groaned in pain but simply pulled out the arrow and flashed to Valerie.
"Now who are you?" Valerie ignored his question looking over to where Elena was standing looking over her to see if there were any injuries. "Answer Me!" Klaus temper got the better of him, but Valerie was too brave to be brought down to his stern glare.
Klaus decides to figure it out later and continues with his conversation with Elena.
"You put a rather large kink in my plans, sweetheart. The whole point of breaking the curse and becoming a hybrid was to make more hybrids. I haven't been able to do that. Now my bet is, it has something to do with the fact that you're still breathing." Valerie was confirmed that it was indeed Klaus that was threatening Elena.
"If you're going to kill me, just do it!" This angered Valerie and she guarded her sister from Klaus. "Not until I know I'm right. But I do have ways of making you suffer" Valerie was now outraged. She lifted her Bow and tried to aim again but Klaus was too fast. He threw the bow across the room and She felt a rush of sadness erupt in her when she hears a snap from it. "You are really starting to annoy me."

Klaus drags them both Through into the gym and Valerie does not help as she struggles against his hold even though it's helpless, Klaus is about 10x stronger than her.
"Attention, seniors. You have officially been busted. Prank night is over. Head on home." Elena knew no one could prevent what was going to happen now. He spots Dana and another student and walks towards them. "You two, I remember you".
Dana looks at him confused. "I'm sorry, who are you?" "Oh, don't worry, I wasn't in my right head last time we met." Valerie thought back to when Elena was filling her in about how Klaus used Alaric's body. "Oh don't try to be funny, it doesn't suit you" Klaus snapped his head to Valerie after she speaks for the first time.
Klaus meets Dana's gaze as he compels her "Lift your foot up, please, Dana." Valerie's expression turned from neutral to confusion. "If she drops her foot, Chad, I want you to beat her to death. Understood?" Valerie's breath caught in her thought as she thought about Dana getting hurt.
"Don't, Klaus. You don't have to hurt anybody." Elena hates people getting hurt because of her. "Oh, come on, love. Of course I do." Valerie looks up at Klaus with disgust which causes him to quickly turn back around.
The door then opens and Bonnie and Matt appear. "Bonnie get out of here!" Elena shouted at the same time Valerie warned Matt. "Ah, I was wondering when you'd show up. Now we can get started."
"Ah, Dana, why don't you relax? You and Chad sit tight." Valerie relaxes knowing Dana and Chad are safe. Valerie hates when people that aren't involved get hurt.
Klaus looks over to Bonnie who's standing tall. "I assume you're the reason Elena's still walking around alive?" Valerie felt fear for her friend "That's right. If you want to blame someone, blame me." Turns out she didn't need to feel fear, Bonnie had shown no signs herself.
"Oh, there's no need for blame, love. Just your witchy interference seems to have caused some undesirable side effects. And since you caused the problem, I'm going to have you find the fix." Valerie stiffens knowing something bad is about to happen.
Her thoughts are proved right when a blonde girl walks through the door dragging a weak Tyler. "Get off of me!" Valerie wanted to so desperately help Tyler. "Hush now!" Valerie looked over to the blonde girl wondering why she was helping Klaus.
Her question is answered immediately "I'd like you all to meet my sister Rebekah. Word of warning...She can be quite mean." Valerie huffed.
Rebekah speaks up for herself "don't be an ass" she throws Tyler at Klaus. "I'm going to make this very simple...Every time I attempt to turn a werewolf into a vampire hybrid, they die during the transition. It's quite horrible, actually." Everyone was anxious with what would happen to the werewolf.
Klaus bites his wrist and feeds Tyler his blood. "I need you to find a way to save my hybrids, Bonnie. And for Tyler's sake...You better hurry." He then snaps Tyler neck, killing him instantly.

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
