《Love and war》Scorch marks

Ruby POV
God Peter just pisses me off sometimes. Well it's a couple hours later and he came after me and apologized and all that shit, then he started asking me just like weird questions like,
"What do you remember of your real parents?" And
"Did you ever try looking for them?"
I really don't give a damn about them, they gave me up and that's all I know, but I do admit that I am curious sometimes. But I don't need them I have a family right here with Peter and the Lost Boys.
Well I might as well turn in, it's like midnight and I'm tired. I walked into the bathroom and started my nighttime routine. Washing my face, brushing my teeth, putting on shorts and a crop top, and pulling up my hair into a messy bun. When I was done I grabbed the sink and leaned over to look in the mirror. Then I felt a type of heat under my hand, it's didn't hurt or anything, it was just there. I removed my hand from the sink and there was a black burn mark the shape of my hand.
"PETER!"
Peters POV
Ruby and I made up and everything's happy again.
"PETER!"
I spoke to soon. I heard her yell from across the island and I sprinted back to camp. I barged into the tent and saw Ruby rolled up into a ball in the corner of the bathroom. The room had scattering scorch marks, on the wall, the shower curtain, and the sink.
"Hey, hey what happened?" I asked softly bending down to her level.
"I don't, I don't-" she was shaking.
"Crap your in shock." I picked her up and carried her to the bed and laid her down. I tried to take her hand but she snatched it away immediately.

"It's ok." she moved her hand to mine and I looked inside the palm.
She has markings of the creation of a fireball.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Just stuff." I replied I don't want her to know anything until I know everything.
"NeverLand stuff?" She asked.
"Yhea Neverland stuff." she chuckled at my reply.
She soon fell asleep and I went to go consult my shadow at Skull Rock.
At Skull Rock
"SHADOW!"
"Yes Pan."
"What's going on with Ruby, she made a fireball and you and I know that kind of power only runs in genetics."
"Yes and....."
"Who are her parents?"
"Pam haven't you already guessed?"
I know exactly who her parents are.

Vast Asleep
The story of Kingard the Binder in the aftermath of Broken This short story is the epilogue of Broken, the second book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. It’s a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers but is set apart from the full-length narrative. Vast Asleep follows the story of Kingard, who finds himself caught in a world called Mother's realm, bathed in glowing light but strangely stuck in place. He encounters his greatson Varyan there, and learns that his experiences are likely dreams. As he grows more accustomed to the loving realm around him, Kingard remembers fear and trepidation about the face of the world, and he loses contact with his companion. This story answers the question, Is Kingard really dead? with a tentative no, and new mysteries brewing. It also raises the question, What's happening while he's awake? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Ride Awake, about Kingard's situation with the Colkh'rak. Praise for Tales of the Known World Bookends: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between the epilogue and prologue is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well. -- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Return of Chaos
For the longest time, it was thought that the citizens of Earth were the only denizens of the galaxy incapable of developing superhuman abilities — but recent events have flipped that assumption on its head. Between Austin Travis, Mote Emerson, Pierce Bradley, and their friends, Earth is now host to 12 Chaotics… as well as a myriad of mysteries surrounding them. From a new nemesis in the form of a clone, to connections to ancient technology from a long-lost civilization, to the ability to summon powerful legendary weapons, these 12 Chaotics have unknowingly become entangled in something larger than any of them have ever imagined. As if in response to these discoveries, the sinister machinations of galactic evil are churning. The metallic infection, a calamitous nanotechnology “disease” thought to have been vanquished 20 years ago, is slowly returning — and alongside it, a number of conflicts thought to be long past. While they only seek to better grasp their own abilities, Earth’s Chaotics will soon find themselves in the crossfire of returning threats and old heroes. These superpowered Earthians may not have chosen this path through life, but it will still be up to them to determine if history remembers them — to determine if history remembers the saga of the Keys. Return of Chaos is a direct sequel to Chosen Chaos, which begins the Key Saga novel series. Be sure to read Chosen Chaos first, to understand the plot and the characters thus far! Additionally, the Key Saga as a whole takes place 20 years after Rise. You will not need to read Rise to understand the events of Return of Chaos, however the latter will spoil many of the events that occurred in Rise, due to the simple chronology of taking place later in the timeline.
