《Trip to The Homeland》MIRACULOUS CHAPTER 17

Marinette's POV
Arms. There were strong arms wrapped around my torso, and my back was pressed on something warm and hard. I tried turning around, just to see Adrien's face, his breathing was steady, and his blonde hair was messy. Kind of like Chat's.
Chat...
I wonder what that cat is up to right now.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when Adrien started stirring.
His eyes opened, and he smiled. I pushed out his golden locks that were covering his beautiful green eyes.
"Good morning beautiful."
His voice was hoarse, but it made him even sexier. He kissed the tip of my nose, and I giggled.
"Good morning handsome."
He pulled me close, and nuzzled in my neck.
"Adrien, I have to get up before Ling sees that I'm not in my room."
I tried to escape Adrien's grasp, but he was just to strong.
"Adrien!" I squealed,"Let me go!"
He hugged me tighter,"I'll never let you go princess."
I giggled at the nickname,"You're such a dork. Y'know that Adrien?"
I could feel his smirk against my neck,"But you love me anyway."
I had to role my eyes at his antics,"What if I said that I don't love you?"
His smirk widened,"If you said that you don't love me then you should be with Ling right now."
I hummed in agreement. Ling...
Ling!
"Stars! Adrien! Ling could be at my room any moment now!"
I started to get up and fix myself. I was pacing around the room while Adrien tried to calm me down.
"Calm down Marinette."
"Calm down?! Adrien I don't want Ling to find me here! Adrien. I want to tell Ling that I want to end this 'relationship' in a proper way."

"But why Mari?! Can't we just show him that you love me and I you? It's the perfect revenge! He deserves it!"
I was getting on my last nerve,"But Adrien, Ling is human too! And he deserves to find out the right way! If we take revenge then we're no better than him."
His features softened, he opened his arms widely motioning me to come towards him. He scooped me up and buried his face into my hair,"You're right Mari... You're right."
I pulled away,"I better dress up and go to my room before Ling does. And you should too!"
He started fixing himself, and so did I. While doing so someone knocked on the door.
Adrien and I looked at each other with panicked faces,"I'll hide inside the closet."
He agreed.
The knocking wouldn't stop, but Adrien didn't open the door until I was safely tucked inside the closet. I peeked through a small hole. Just enough for me to see who it was.
He opened the door; not expecting Ling to punch him in the face.
"You bastard!" He punched his face once more. A purple bruise was making its way on the surface of Adrien's face.
I couldn't just stay in the closet while the live of my life was being beat up!
I emerged out of my hiding place. As Ling was about throw another punch at Adrien. (Adrien learning karate) used his moves to block the attack.
"Ling! Adrien! Stop!" Tears were starting to stream down my eyes.
"Stay out of this Marinette! This is between me and this punk right here."
Adrien and Ling continued throwing punches at each other. Bruises were forming on both boys faces. I had to do something. Quick!

As Ling was about to throw another punch at Adrien I went in front of Adrien. Making Ling hit me instead.
It hurt like hell. Ling hit me somewhere near the bridge of my nose. I was clutching my face, trying to soothe the pain, but it didn't help. I could feel something sticky oozing out of my nose.
Blood.
"Marinette!" Adrien was the first to recover. He went over to me and looked at my bruised and bloody face.
"LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE!"
Adrien was red with anger.
"What's going on in here?" A new voice entered.
Alya.
She saw me on the floor. Bruised and hurt.
She gasped,"Mari!" She went over, and looked at me as if I was a lost cat that was found on a rainy day.
"WHO DID THIS TO MY BFF?!" Alya was as mad as Adrien.
She got up, and walked over Ling; who was still dumbfounded at what had happened.
"You did this didn't you?" Ling still didn't answer,"you did... Didn't you."
Alya's voice was dangerously low. That's not good. Abort! Abort mission!
As she was about to turn back; she slapped Ling twice on his left cheek, and another two on his right.
She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. Bringing him closer to her face.
"I only slapped you on the face, but I could do much worse."
Ling's Adam's apple bobbed. He was nervous, and he should be. Alya let his collar go, and walked towards me.
They helped me out of Adrien's room to fix me and Adrien up.
Not minding Ling that was still left dumbfounded inside.
Ling's POV
I-I hurt her. I her the girl that I loved the most. She was supposed to be mine. She was never supposed to be in HIS room.
What does she see in him that he doesn't see in me? I tried everything just so she could be mine, but nothing. I mean nothing ever works.
And it's all because of that punk. That green eyed, blonde headed punk!
He will pay. I will have my revenge. Marinette will be mine! And that Agreste boy will be out of me and Marinette's life forever.
My hate for him was so strong that I wanted to kill him.
No one's POV
While Ling was planning his revenge. With hatred that strong... It actually reached hawkmoth at the other side of the world.
Hawkmoth loved the hatred he was feeling, perfect for his akuma.
So, without anyone knowing. He sent out a purple butterfly towards that boy in China.

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.
