that night, river and martha lay peacefully on the hospital bed, fast asleep. but martha tried to wake river up the next morning, and he was unconscious.

martha was pushed out of the room and doctors flooded in. donny was in the waiting room, asleep but martha woke him,"river was unconscious this morning. i don't know if he's dead or not. i really worried, donny." she started to ball. donny hugged her tightly. but then a doctor came out to donny and martha,"he had a stroke over the night. he's in a coma. we can't do anything for him." martha didn't believe the words she was hearing,"can i see him?" the doctor nodded his head and let her inside the room where river lay.

"please wake up before our daughter is born, please river jude phoenix. i need you now." martha cried aloud onto river's chest. and then the heart monitor came to a long beep. and martha screamed, knowing what had happened.
