river left his home for school about 8:00 am. finchel, river's father, and martha were the only things he could think about. even if he tried to focus on school, he just couldn't. he still hadn't told donny or sean about martha but the news about his father got out the day before. river was worried about telling donny that he was seeing his ex girlfriend. river and martha weren't official yet though. the whole day, river passed martha in the hall having to completely ignore her, which tore him. after school Donny and sean asked him if he wanted to visit the alley, remember finchel, and have a few beers but river denied knowing that he had to get martha a birthday present.
sean and donny were starting to get suspicious of river's odd behavior. so they decided to go find out what it was.
river went to a nice jewelry store and picked out a necklace that he thought would look nice on martha. but what he didn't know is that sean and donny were at river's home.
river arrived back home, realizing that his mother wasn't home but donny's blue truck sat in the driveway. river got out of the car with the jewelry box and hesitated. river walked into his home to find his little brother and sister sitting at the table doing homework,"joaquin, rain, where's liberty, summer, and mom?" rain answered quickly,"they went grocery shopping. and donny and sean are in the backyard." river thanked his sister and ran out the back door, still carrying the jewelry box.
donny snatched the box from river's arms and opened it, revealing the beautiful necklace,"so you've got a girl and didn't tell us? just like you didn't tell us about your father's death." sean added,"who's the lucky princess?" river sighed,"I hope you guys don't freak out. but it's martha plimis. we're not official but we did it. and her birthday's tomorrow and I wanted to get her a nice gift." donny's eyes widened,"I didn't even get to do it with martha." river sighed from relief,"so you're not mad?" donny smirked,"of course I'm a little upset. come on, sean, we're leaving now."

Just a few warnings before you read the novel, so you won't be disappointed. First of all, as you can probably tell, I took more than a few ideas from pokemon and the like. It's almost impossible to write a novel where creatures (Iferes) have a major part in, and not relate it to pokemon. However, as you will see as the novel goes on, I tried (and I think I succeeded) in making a universe of my own. I am sure you will like it. Secondly, compared to pokemon, my novel is a lot darker, as you probably noticed by the synopsis. I also try to give a wild west vibe to it, if you know what I mean. Thirdly, you should check out my fanfic Broke: A Clone Wars Tale. Biased as I am towards it, I think it's a great story, and so do many of my readers. It will also give you a glance at what writing style to expect. Fourth and last, I feel like it's only fair that I tell you I am a student. As much as I love writing, my main priority will always be my studies. After all, writing is just a hobby for me, at least for now (fingers crossed). As such, there probably will be interruptions in the release schedule here and there, but, if you followed me on my other novel, you will know I rarely missed an upload, and, when I did, I always made up for it.
