《Dare: Love within the student council》wonderfully horrible

Yedam and Doyoung were seated silently on one table inside the cafe. Doyoung had a glass of untouched ice coffee while Yedam was eating his chocolate mousse with elegance.
A tall man interrupted the cold atmosphere surrounding the two with his arrival. He had an amiable smile and hair bleached in blonde. Light blonde. Yedam's eyes irked at the hair color. "Long time no see, you two"
"It should be long as your hair faded into that horrible color" Yedam grunted as he put the last bite of the mousse on his mouth. "What goes into your mind, Seunghun hyung?"
"You're tongue got sharper, Dammie" Kim Seunghun took the open seat sitting in the middle of the two 3rd year high school students. "Hello, Doyounggie"
"Hi, hyung" Doyoung smiled awkwardly. The newly arrived college student stared at Doyoung and noticed the uncomfortable smile hanging on his face.
"You two, are you fighting?" Seunghun asked making Doyoung flinch slightly while Yedam shrugged.
"Let's leave it that we are" Yedam sighed wiping his mouth with the tissue. "So, why are we summoned here?"
Kim Seunghun can be noted as a childhood friend of Doyoung and Yedam. These two boys were originally closed like brothers which made him quite shocked on how they are acting right now. He sighed, "I thought that this would be a merry reunion"
"Things never remain the same. Five years can either be long or short" Doyoung stated as he tried to change the topic. "I have appointment after this hyung, so if we could finish earlier"
"Right, my apologies" Seunghun chuckled slightly. He was here to confirm the standing of the two as ordered by his father, the current legal representative of Bang Yoohan. "I'm just here to inform you that the succession rights would resume. Are you both still going for it?"
"Yes" Doyoung replied weakly while Yedam shrugged. Seunghun waited for the narrow eyed boy to answer. Yedam clicked his tongue and answer "I'm not particularly interested in it"
Doyoung slightly trembled. He had hoped that Yedam would still fight for succession so that he would have the chance to correct his mistakes. To perhaps make their relationship a bit better.
Seunghun noticed Doyoung's look of desperation and despair. Without asking anything, he knew that the young boy is gambling everything in the upcoming contest.
"Dammie?" The trio who was sitting on the corner of the cafe stared at the owner of the sudden voice. Yoonbin coolly walked towards the table with hands on his pocket, Jihoon following behind him.
"Doyoungie and -" Jihoon stared at the familiar face that he last saw five years ago. "Seunghun?"
"What a coincidence, Hoonie. Long time no see" Yoonbin stared at Yedam who was obviously frowning. The Kings member were having an eye to eye converstion. Yoonbin then landed his gaze to the unfamiliar face in the table. He stared at his boyfriend and asked, "You know him, Ji?"

"Remember the neighbourhood tutor?" Jihoon answered as he leaned closer to Yoonbin unconciously, linking their hands together. Yoonbing creased his brows and recalled about Jihoon and Junkyu's stories about their friend who was aiming to be an international lawyer.
Kim Seunghun saw the closeness of the two and asked, "And may I ask who you are?"
"Ha Yoonbin, nice meeting you"
"He's the Binnie I told you about. My Binnie" Jihoon proudly introduced making Yoonbin coughed awkwardly. He would never get use with sweet atmosphere.
The blonde stared at the raven haired boy and smiled ambiguously. "Nice to meet you finally. I heard plenty of stories about you"
"Hm." Yoonbin raised his brows and felt that there was something wrong with that statement. He dismissed the blonde and asked the other Kings member, "Need any help, Dammie?"
"No, not really. I'm just thinking of turning the succession rights down"
"Ah, that. Do as you please. We got you covered"
"Would you please refrain any kind of input in this matter?" Seunghun asked Yoonbin with a strained tone. Yoonbin stared at him with a smirk, challenge obvious in his eyes. Jihoon gulped while Yedam stared in anticipation.
"And why would I need to?" Yoonbin replied with the same tension. Jihoon knew that both Yoonbin and Seunghun are competitive individuals and it won't end with a simple discourse if they try to fight it out.
"This is a familial matter. It would be very much appreciated if outsiders refrain from butting in"
"The more reason I have the power to butt in" Yoonbin grinned as he saw Seunghun stared at him in surprise. "My family basically is the legal guardian of Bang Yedam as of the moment. I am basically Bang Yedam's step-brother if we took things by law, Mr. Attorney"
"Is that true?" Seunghun stared at Yedam who nodded relaxedly while Doyoung held his gaze to the ground.
Yedam yawned as he stood up from his seat, "Well, it is. To be exact, there are four families that has the total hold of my guardianship. The Ha family is one of them"
"Aren't you suppose to be taken care of by Doyoung's family?"
"Hmm? Why not ask him then? In any case, I'm not particularly interested in the succession rights but send me still the detail of inheritance I might take fancy to one of it and perhaps partake with the challenge" Yedam nodded towards Yoonbin and snaked his arms to the college student who was obviously annoyed for his sake. "Yoonbin hyung, I'm getting bored. Can we go bully Haru?"
Jihoon chuckled as Yedam pouted. "You guys really love to bully Haru too much"
"You are addicted to it too" Yedam disputed narrowing his eyes accusingly to Jihoon who shrugged and chuckled. Yoonbin patted Yedam's head and exited the cafe that they originally went to order for a chocolate mousse. Jihoon stared at Seunghun and Doyoung and said, "I'm sorry for what happened earlier. There are many things that happen when you were not around, Hun."

"Ji! Time to go! Suk is whining!" Yoonbin called from the door. Jihoon stared at the white car parked in front of the cafe. He frowned and bid goodbye to both lad and rushed towards Yoonbin.
Seunghun watched Jihoon entered the car laughing at one of the passengers inside it. As soon as the car drove off, Kim Seunghun shifted his gaze to Kim Doyoung. "Who are they and what happened?"
Doyoung let out the tears he was holding back spill. He stared at Seunghun in grief and answered. "Hyung, I killed the Dammie we know. The Yedam that exist right now is Kings Bang Yedam, the son of Bang Jinho and Yoon Saeha. The genius and the millionaire."
"Calm down, Doyoungie. Tell me what happened"
"I betrayed him, hyung. I hurted him. I did not know anything back then, I- I'm sorry"
"What exactly happened?"
"I did not know, hyung. Yedam was being poisoned by my parents slowly for his inheritance. We all know Yedam has a large amount of inheritance and my parents tries to take that away from him. He discovered the poison, hyung. He tried to told me secretly about it, he trusted me enough with his life but I, I wanted to believe in my parents."
"So you confronted them about it?"
"Worse, hyung. I was tricked by them. They told me that they would repent and that they would give me the antidote but"
"They gave you poison instead?"
"Yedam almost died, hyung" Doyoung cried as he remembered what happened that night. "I should have helped him but I was too afraid to be implicated so I. I ran away, I left him on that room pleading for help. You should have seen the helplessness in his eyes that night, hyung. I killed him that night. I, I'm sorry"
"Doyoung, calm down" Seunghun frowned. No wonder that there is a large change to their relationship and attitude. "We'll try sort this out. Yedam's legal guardianship is transferred to four families?"
Doyoung trembled at the question. "Yedam was acting as a correspondent of that group back in middle school. He was always a genius so he fit in with them immediately but he had always refused to tie a promise of brotherhood with them so he was acting as the bridge between them and the school"
"Them?"
"The Kings. You should have heard of them, hyung. Some of them are large clients of your family's firm" Seunghun frowned. If Doyoung meand a large client of their firm that means its the country's or the world's top 1 percent.
"Who?"
"You met one earlier, Ha Yoonbin of the Ha family, grandson of Ha Hyunsang and one of the oldest family in Korea."
"The real estates and properties monsters?"
"Yes"
"Who else?"
"The Chois that controls the largest Logistics and Transportation industry of Asia. Then there is the Takata's that controls two third of the japanese economy along with the Kazama's"
"Anyone else?"
"They don't have his legal guardianship but Yedam is also protected by the Watanabe's, the Hanada's and the newly added Terazono. Even the plutocratic Lee family that is in your father's priority list is backing him up."
"He's guarded by monsters, huh?"
"The Kings is that kind of group, hyung. To be honest, I'm happy for him. He is living the life he deserves" Doyoung sniffled slightly as he wiped the tears in his eyes with a handkerchief. "But, I just want one more chance. Even if he dont forgive me, I just wanted to say sorry"
"And you need him to fight for the succession rights to do that?"
"Yes. Can you make him fight for it?"
"I honestly think it would be hard with what he has and can do right now. It would be hard to convince him"
"I don't know if this would still have an effect but you might want to try this" Doyoung wrote a name of a thing included in the inheritance of Bang Yoohan, the mysterious eccentric who was known to be an antique collector and has a treasure trove that he had left behind. And since he had no direct kin, he had devised a game for the descendants of his adopted younger brother and the spouse that he divorced to play.
Bang Yedam was the grandson of Bang Yoohan's adopted younger brother while Kim Doyoung was the grandson of Yoon Chaein, Bang Yoohan's wife that he divorced two moths before he died.
The game was supposed to be played only when the direct descendants are both male. Since it was Doyoung's mother that was the previous generation therefore the game had been passed to him and Yedam.
Doyoung remembered that there has been one item in the inheritance that Yedam's father had hoped to get but was not able to since he died with his wife on a plane crash leaving a five year old Yedam orphaned.
Kim Seunghun read the name that was written on the paper and smiled. He patted Doyoung on the shoulders and assured, "I'll try and convince him. Don't worry"
"I will leave it to you, hyung" Lord, please let there me one last chance.

When offered the chance to be someone else, to live as a fantasy character, people invariably gravitate towards a style of play centred on fancy maneuvres and flashy spellcraft that take multiple strategic steps to outwit opponents and win glory. Why not just cut out the middleman with a large axe and be done with it?

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.

STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic
Four thousand years before Anakin Skywalker was born, the Jedi thrived as the guardians of peace in the galaxy. The Republic, weakened by a costly war with the Mandalorians, faces now another great threat. A false Sith Empire created by two fallen Jedi, Revan and Malak, has risen from the ashes of that war. Now the Republic is on the brink of defeat to their once great hero, now turned Darth Revan. Hoping to protect the Republic at all costs, the Jedi dispatch an elite strike force to capture the Dark Lord. To the dismay of the Jedi, Revan is betrayed and killed by his apprentice Darth Malak, who proclaims himself the new Dark Lord of the Sith. Now with the entire galaxy at stake, the Jedi and the Republic must go to extreme lengths if they are to survive the seemingly endless forces the new Sith ruler commands. Only by the will of the Force, will they survive... This is a novelization of the popular video game by Bioware. One of my favorite stories within the Star Wars universe, I am putting my own little twists and style on this story in a way I could see potentially fitting into the new canon by Disney. I will be releasing new chapters periodically with the goal of trimming the story down a little bit as well. Enjoy, and of course constructive criticism always welcome, and if you like what you're reading, consider voting for my story.
