《Son of the Council》First Training

It has been a couple of days since I arrived at camp and my friends had finally settled into my cabin. Most of them hadn't slept anywhere but their own cabin in years and it had taken a while for them to think of mine as their home. They missed their siblings but after spending some time in the cabin, and many hours spent training in our private amphitheatre, they had almost forgotten why it was like with any other home.
But they all had a problem, their siblings. They had been harassed every time they left the cabin, asking them why they were sleeping in their and accusing them of being controlled by me. The only thing that stopped the questions was when I was with them, then the campers only glared at me in fear and hatred because of what they thought I had done to their friends.
Anytime I spent outside of my cabin was usually spent at the dining pavilion for meals (even though my cabin came with a kitchen and any ingredient we could ask for, none of us really knew how to cook well) or at Thalia's pine tree. Even though she couldn't hear me, I would talk to her endlessly about what had been happening, my new family, our friends living in my cabin and how clueless John was when it came to anything. Every so often I would have Annabeth come up to me and demand I tell her who I was talking to, what I was doing at their demigod camp (I was a Demi-primordial now) and what I was doing to her friends. I just ignored her, and if I was in a bad mood, I threatened her and sometimes I even drew my sword Hell Raiser.
It was on a day like this, when I drew my sword as she backed away, that Chiron appeared and told Annabeth that it was time to prepare for Capture the flag tomorrow. It had been a few months at this point since I had last played capture the flag and I was eager to practise my new abilities against the campers. I slowly walked over to the amphitheater and saw Chiron organising the campers into their two teams. As I listened to their bickering, the rest of my cabin walked in and I suddenly had a spectacular idea. "Why don't we play it differently, my cabin against the rest of you. We win, we don't have any chores for the duration of my stay here. You win and you can demand anything of me and I must do it." The campers faces were full of mixed emotions: confusion at my request, disbelief that I thought just a few could beat the entire camp and anger that I thought they would be such an easy fight. The worst of all was Annabitch. Her face turned red with rage as she saw, not only me, but the others and Luke grin at the idea of beating the camp and before Chiron could say anything, she interrupted and immediately shouted "We accept!," with a sneer on her face that showed her obvious overconfidence.
I looked around to check for anyone that could actually stand a chance and saw John stood in the corner trying to prove to a bunch of Ares campers that he wasn't as horrible as everyone thought. "Oh John, how are you doing bro? It's been a while, can you even pick up that sword?" He turned around in shock and dropped the crude blade onto the floor of the arena. "Still as clumsy as ever I see, hasn't this lousy camp taught you anything yet?" His face was slowly turning red with anger at my words and he crouched to pick up his sword. Immediately I changed my own into its sword form and held the tip against his throat, "ah, ah, ah Johnny boy, let's not be too hasty." I told him as he recoiled away from my sword. "Y...y...you wouldn't touch me, not with everyone here." He tried to retort at me but the fear in his eyes at being faced with my sword was enough to take any intimidation away from his voice. Chiron slowly walked over and demanded we stop, I bent down to John ear and whispered to him "Do you think any of these could stop me from killing you? Do you honestly believe anyone could save you from my sword? Well we will just have to wait and see tomorrow, won't we? Then we will see what this little camp has to offer." And with that I walked out of the arena.

I arrived back at my cabin and destroyed a few training dummy's, before realising they were supposed to be indestructible and thought that I had better stop before I break something important. I decided that it would be better to sleep my anger away rather than destroy my amazing new cabin so I went to my room and fell onto my bed and went straight to sleep.
"Percy, peeeeercy." I heard my mother's tender voice calling through my head "Open your eyes my child." My eyes slowly opened and I was once again stood in my family's throne. "Hello Percy" they all echoed at me, smiles adoring their faces. "Hi guys, I've missed you" I answered, returning the smile. "Percy, we know that since you restarted your life," my mother told me, "you have trained to regain the skills with a sword that you had in your past life. However you have no experience with the weapons you must learn to use in the battles ahead and no idea how to wield the powers you get as our child. So, as you sleep, you will train with us until your able to defeat any of us in a fight. Each month will be dedicated to a different one of us and that is who's power you will train with. Now Percy, who would you like to train under first?" I looked around the room at each of the different primordial, receiving a smile in return from each of them, until I finally settle on one. "I would like to train under Tartarus first." My father in question chuckled and let out a laugh that he had been chosen by me first.
"Shut it dad," I shouted up to him laughing at the millennia old primordial's childish behaviour. "Oh Percy, I almost forgot," said my other mother (A/N this is going to get confusing) Nyx, "your gonna end up losing your voice having to shout up to us like you have been, so you should learn how to change your size. Not only will it save your voice, it will also give you an advantage in combat." I gave her a nod of agreement as Tartarus shrunk down and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. I managed to give a small wave to the rest of my family before we flashed away to Tartarus' palace.
The flash of white filling my vision, as always, only lasted a second before we arrived in the dark, expansive, red plains of Tartarus. In front of me I saw a black, cathedral-like, ominous palace that should have filled me with fear and yet, instead I was filled with a sense of belonging. "Let's go son, it's boring just standing here with you gawping." My father said to me and he began to walk towards the castle and I broke out of my trance and followed him. The smell of sulphur and burning flesh that I had grown accustomed to on my previous visit was no longer present and instead all I could smell was fresh air that filled me and made me feel stronger than I had since I was made the son of the council. I easily kept pace with my father and as we stepped through the large stone doorway that served as an entrance to the palace. As we walked through to a training ground, we passed monsters I had defeated on my quests and some that, as a son of Tartarus, I realised hadn't threatened the world since before the reign of the titans. These monsters could destroy the gods almost as easily as my parents and me, as long as what my parents had told me about my power was true, but they still knelt to me and my father like they were ants beneath our boots and I understood that monsters were not what I had always believed. They were not malicious beasts but intelligent creatures that followed the powerful instead of the weak. I finally understood why I had grown up having to fight monsters, they knew how weak the gods were and so refused to follow them. Unknown to me, my eyes flashed a deep red as my father smiled at me. "You are learning quickly, my son. You see what monsters are and yet you do not realise what you are to them."

"What do you mean dad?" I asked, confused by what he meant.
"I am the master of monsters, they answer to me as much as the water answers to Poseidon. And as my son, you are their prince. You can, with the right training, harness the power of each race of monsters and even shape shift into each type. You shall be taught by me to harness your powers but you will learn to fight like a monster from teachers I have specifically asked to help guide you." My jaw dropped as I heard about the power I could achieve from just one parent, and once I train with the 11 others I would be unstoppable. "Now my son," my father said as he pulled a red sword with black fire filling the blade out of thin air, "ready to sparr?"
(A/N: when Percy is being trained by his parents, thanks to Chronos, he can be in his mind for as long as he wants and his physical age will not change. However he will get stronger and he will get mentally older)
I've been training with my father for months and I have finally been able to beat him in a fight. He has taught me to master my abilities and under the teachings of the monsters he ordered to instruct me, I have now mastered my shape shifting ability so I can transform or partially transform into any monster in history. I have learnt to fight in each of my forms until I can beat my instructors all at once. When I first found out who my instructors were, I didn't know what to think. Kampe, Briares, Cerberus, the original hydra and Iapetus. Most of them, creature I had know in my past life, and one of them had only ever been beaten my Hercules. It had taken me a while to get used to them, but they were good efficient trainers and would not stand for failure. Since my training began, I haven't needed to sleep so I have worked for hundreds of hours nonstop so my 12 year old body is at is physical peak.
Today is going to be my first day back at camp since my training began and I cannot wait. Even though I've been here for 6 months, in the real world less than 8 hours has passed and its Capture the Flag day. I'm saying my goodbyes to the monsters that have been brave enough to become friends with me before I meet my father in his throne room, apparently he's got some gifts for me before I leave but I don't know what else he could possibly give me.
I arrive in the throne room and see him on his throne, an exact copy of his from the council room, and beside him is my instructors. I walk forwards and kneel before him. "Now Percy, you know there is no reason for you to kneel before me, especially after you beat me." He slowly gets quieter on the end, almost embarrassed I was already able to beat him. "Percy, you have worked harder than I could have ever asked for and you have mastered everything in an unprecedented short amount of time. Before you leave today, me and your other teachers would like to leave you with 2 gifts. Kampe stepped forward and summonsed a wristwatch. "Perseus, you have trained and learnt to fight as a monster should, your forms come with natural weapons but your human form lacks defences. We would like to alter those special clothes of yours so no matter what form you are in, the armour will shift to fit." The ball of light flew from the palm of her hand and into the chest of the vest I had changed my clothes into during my training. "Thank you, Lady Kampe, Lord Briares, Lord Iapetus and Lord Cerberus, this will be very helpful." I received I smile of gratitude from them for addressing them with respect. "Percy," my father drew my attention towards him, "your powers have developed quickly and nearly surpass my own. However there is one that you do not have that I think you are worthy of." A ball of pulsing red light flew from my fathers had and into my chest. I felt a slight burning sensation as a black tattoo formed on my neck. "I have given you the power to summon monsters from the highest point of my domain to the deepest pits where even I have forgotten their name. You now have knowledge of all monsters to ever exist and they're I'll do as you command as you are their prince. I have also given you a tattoo to remind you of your time here, I'm sure your other parents will give you a similar reminder as well." I didn't know what to say, I just walked up to my father and hugged him. After losing everything in my past life, he was the first person in a long time to be a caring father figure and it made me so happy. "Thank you Dad." As I steeped back and calmed down, my head began to feel dizzy as I realised I was waking up for the first time in months.
(A/N: First chapter I've written in months, hope it's alright for you lot. Please let me know if there's anything I can improve on)

8 211Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
