《The Fallen Council》XVIII

The day was going well, I had been gathering stock for Sahara. Soon we would actually be able to open Sahara and start selling the stock we've been gathering. I was really looking forward to it.
Also Haylie had told me that Sherenidy had woken up and The Council could have the Rookie trials in three weeks. I was really interested to see the people who wanted to try out the trials. We really needed some actually good Rookies to The Council.
I was brought back from my thoughts by crazy buzzing my communicator made. I let out a small groan as I started going through my pocket. I already knew that it was Mao, since he was the spammer of The Council.

Looks like this conversation is
over for now (18.39)
I couldn't help but laugh as I read through the messages. The Council was definitely the best and my siblings were amazing. I was lucky to be part of them!
I heard someone land behind me with and turned around to see the green armored admin.
"Hey X-eye-suma!" I smirked producing his name wrong on purpose.
He chuckled and rolled his eyes, "Hey Grian! How are you doing?"
"I'm fine. How about you?" I answered smiling and asking him the same question.
"I'm alright, just been busy with admin stuff and such," Xisuma shrugged. "My brother should show up sometimes," He continued murmuring quietly.
"Your brother?" I pretend like I didn't know.
"Eh?" Xisuma seemed to be caught off guard, he had probably thought that I had heard what he had mumbled.

"You said something about your brother not showing up. I didn't know you had a brother," I spoke out like I had no idea.
"Oh, yeah.! I haven't really spoken about my brother to anyone," He muttered.
"Is he an admin too?" I asked tilting my head trying to not look suspicious.
"No, he's actually a Watcher. We are really close but I don't really talk about him that much," Xisuma answered letting out a little embarrassed laugh.
"It's alright. I won't yell anyone about that," I gave him a smile.
The admin looked relieved.
"Thank you Grian," He thanked me smiling.
"I wouldn't be a true friend if I went and told everyone your secret!" I pointed out.
"That's actually something I agree with. You shouldn't go and tell your friends secrets," The admin nodded.
"Oh, did you have a reason to come here or did you just want to see me?" I asked tilting my head.
"Right! Actually I did have a reason!" He remembered. "We have a server meeting tomorrow around 2pm at the shopping district. I thought that I would come tell your personally since you weren't online when I told everyone else," He explained.
"I see, I'll be there," I nodded smiling. "Mind if I ask what is it about?"
"We're just going to be talking about some of the basic stuff, like glitches and such. Also we're going to have a couple of The Council's members, who can answer questions," The admin explained.
"That's interesting," I nodded wondering who might the visitors be.
"Definitely, but now if you'll excuse me, I have to go continue fixing some bugs," He apologized.
"Then I'm not going to be holding you here anymore. Go and do your job," I smiled to him.
"See you Grian! Stay safe!" The admin waves and took off with his elytras.
I watched as he disappeared to the distance. Looked like I was going to see some of my siblings tomorrow here in Hermitcraft. I tried to start guessing which ones would they be.
I was standing in the shopping district, waiting for the others to show up. Soon I saw a familiar face walk towards me.
"Hey Doc!" I greeted the creeper-hybrid.
"Ah, hey Grian. Looks like we're early," The creeper-hybrid smiled as he ran a hand through his hair.
Soon all of the other Hermits appeared too. I ended up in a group with Doc, Ren, False, Cleo and Iskall. We were right in front of the podium where Xisuma stood when he held the meetings.
"Didn't X mention that there's going to be some of The Council's members?" Cleo asked.
"Yep, at least that's what he told me," I answered nodding.
"Do you have any guesses?" Ren asked peeking behind his sunglasses.
"My guess is The Main Watcher Godiva and maybe The Lead Admin Van," Doc guessed.
"The Main Admin Edita and The Main Watcher Kasen," False said tilting her head.

"The Main Admin Upton and The Main Admin Blake," Cleo shrugged.
"Hmm, maybe The Lead Watcher Dexter and The Main Admin Irwin," Iskall tried to guess.
"I'd say that maybe The Main Watcher Oskari and The Lead Watcher Yenny," Ren spoke out. "What about you Grian?" He asked tilting his head.
"Mmh, The Main Watcher Chet, The Lead Watcher Leslie and The Main Admin Mao," I spoke out after a while of thinking and analyzing the situation.
"Pretty interesting guess," False mumbled running a hand through her blonde hair.
I just shrugged and turned to look at Xisuma, who had just walked to the podium with Joe and Biffa.
"Hello dear fellow Hermits and welcome to the server meeting!" Xisuma started. "Today we have three special visitors from The Council!" He smiled and turned to look behind him.
Everyone looked curiously trying to see who was the mysterious visitor.
"Please everyone welcome, The Main Watcher Chet, The Lead Watcher Leslie and The Main Admin Mao!" Xisuma spoke out and the visitors walked to the podium.
My friends stared at me with wide eyes. Looked like my guess had been correct. I kept my eyes in the podium and my siblings. I saw Xisuma gave them a nod and step back. Mao quickly took the meeting to his hands.
"Hey Hermitcraft! I am The Main Admin Mao and these are The Main Watcher Chet and The Lead Watcher Leslie," Mao quickly introduced himself and the others. "We're here to answer all of your questions, feel free to ask them now," He nodded smiling.
"Is there anything dangerous we should be aware of?" Someone asked.
Mao nodded to Chet, letting him step forward and answer the question.
"Right now we're a little troubled with The Watcher Academy's leaders Oneus and Ezohr. They're doing things they shouldn't and that's not something we allow them to do. We try to fix the situation and make them fall from the throne. The Watchers Academy deserves a better leader and we'll make sure they're going to get that," Chet calmly explained the situation.
"Is there a possibility for a war with them?" Another Hermit asked with worried tone.
"We are already kinda in a war with them, but that won't hopefully affect the players or servers. We're afraid they might start attacking The Main World, but we will be prepared for that. And if that happens we can quickly evacuate the whole server and make sure no one gets injured. So, you shouldn't be afraid or worried about it, we can keep everything under control," Chet continued calmly.
"What about the glitches? Are there any bad glitches we should be aware of?"
Chet stepped back letting Mao take the spotlight and answers the question.
"Right now there aren't any bad glitches that might affect the servers. We try to keep our barriers working perfectly and make sure the glitch won't happen," He explained shortly.
"The Nether has been a bit laggy lately. What causes that?"
Mao nodded to Leslie, who was from the Original Nether, and she stepped forward.
"The Original Nether has been a little unstable lately and that has caused a little bit of lag in the Nethers, but that isn't something you should be worried of. We do our best to keep The Original Nether stable and working perfectly fine," The female spoke out surprising me and the other Mains. Her voice was really sweet but also serious when she spoke out with perfect English.
We weren't used to hearing her speak English. She always spoke Galactic and her main language was The Nether's forgotten language. This was actually the first time I heard her speak English.
"Why are The Main Watcher Sherenidy, The Main Watcher Xelqua and The Lead Watcher Xenex currently not working with The Council?"
Leslie stepped backwards letting Mao take the spotlight and answers the question.
"The three of our siblings are currently injured due an unimportant reason. They are still working with us, but The Lead Watcher Haylie has told them to take sometime off from the work," Mao spoke out not telling any more details.
"Does this injury have something to do with The Watchers Academy?"
"Not commenting," Mao answered keeping a pokerface.
"Are they badly injured?"
"Not commenting," The brunette continued with his pokerface.
"Why can't you answer these questions?"
"We have to respect our siblings' privacy," He answered.
"When are the Rookie trials going to be redone?"
Mao nodded to Chet stepping back and letting the another answer the question.
"The Rookie trials are going to be in three weeks and we're going to be choosing 15 new Rookies to The Council. This time the Rookies will have more important mission and they're going to be helping The Mains and The Leads more. We have currently only three Rookies and two of them are actually Hermitcraft's Watchers, The Rookie Watcher ZloyXP and The Rookie Watcher Pixlriffs," Chet explained the whole situation.
The question continued for hours. I have no idea how the managed to actually answer all of them. Now the meeting was finally dismissed and we all got the leave the place and go back to our bases.
I was laying in my bed as I heard my communicator buzz. I quickly picked it up and was surprised to see the sender of the message.

Look at that, Haylie made
me actually useful :D (16.42)
But there was actually something
important I had to tell you (16.43)
Kira Fang's mother has reported
her as 'missing' and that's a problem (16.44)
Sherenidy wants to talk with you
about it since you were the one who
caught her (16.46)
Can you come to the HQ tomorrow
around 12.30? (16.46)
(16.47) Alright, I'll be there!
(16.47) Thank you Mea!
Np! (16.47)
It had been a long time since I had last even seen The Rookie Admin Meadow. She was one of the only five Rookies we had decided to keep.
But now it looked like Kira Fang had became a problem to us. And we don't like problems, we tend to..
Get rid of them.

Blood Demon's Retirement
Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor. This is not his story. The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, was tired of all the fighting and politicking that had described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories. Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted. This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace. Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy. Expect: -slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action -world building -detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then Do not expect: -romance, other than maybe some passing mentions -politics, again, barring passing mentions Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated. And thank you for reading. ---------------------------- Disclaimer: This story is my original work and only posted on the Royal Road and Scribblehub websites. If you should find this story elsewhere or under another name, please let me know. Also please don't be too hard on me when I make occasional grammatical mistakes, English is my third language after all. XD Edit suggestions are very welcome though. Discord

Sustaining the King's Life
On a secluded mountain situated upon a kingdom known as Feuersturm, resides a seemingly trifling cabin with an unlikely duo as its inhabitant—a witch, and her apprentice who presumably comes from a clan sought after by slave traders. Faustina is a sixteen-year-old girl who fled the slave market with the help of a sickly witch named Eula, who later on trained her as an apprentice for the span of seven years. Plagued with a mysterious disease for several years, Eula died despite the efforts Faustina had exerted to cure her; in her last breath, she left an odd request behind. "Sustain the king's life. This is your duty. Do not adhere to the prophecy." To which the odd plea shadowed a bizarre series of events, a consequential sentence, similar to that of a premonition. The same night the phrase was muttered, the chain of events followed: A warlock's intrusion to their home, with a peculiar yearning to resurrect Eula from the dead... and the king himself, asking for Faustina’s aid. ** 1-2 chapters a day (GMT+8) ** (The artwork belongs to me.
