《The Student Council | Ray》Pop-Tarts

It was now one week after the camping trip. Also since Norman and Emma started dating. School's been going good, no one died to say the least.

I guess I should also say that my parents are coming home this weekend. Every one or two months, they go on business trips for international meetings, which leaves me to take care of Lily. Usually, Delilah would be in charge, but since she's in college now, it's up to me.

My family is the leading group of the (l/n) Conglomerate. Sometimes we would partner up and make collaborations with other companies. Like for example, their current rendezvous was with Goldy Pond Corporations.

I was sitting on a velvet cushion, watching fish swim around the tank. Emma and I continuously convinced the rest of the council members to add an aquarium and they finally agreed. (f/n)'s is on feeding and cleaning duty for the week, so she stood up and started sprinkling flakes onto the surface of the water.

I looked at my watch and right now it was 8:21 am. (f/n) and I were the only ones here, and we were waiting for others. I sighed as I stirred my hot chocolate, gazing at the little whirlpool I made.

Ray's been plaguing my mind for no reason recently. Like in science yesterday, our teacher was talking about how the peak of Quadrantids was last week and if anyone has seen it. Of course, I raised my hand and spoke about my experiences. But the thing is, I couldn't help but think about how I only saw a glimpse of the meteor shower because I couldn't help but stare at Ray the entire time.

And then there was that incident in the forest. (f/n) seemed worried and asked us if the wait was too long for the signal, in which I quickly shook my head. Ray just smiled graciously and said it was fine. He even glanced at me longer than normal, and knowingly too, which just shows that he's not forgetting that anytime soon.

I saw Ray's bookbag through the window and instantly waved. "Good morning."

"Morning, (y/n)," he said as he placed his stuff on the seat across me. He then warmed up a cinnamon roll in the microwave.

Thank Emma for thinking of adding appliances. We basically use them every day. I turn on the toaster oven to heat up my food, and Norman makes instant coffee all the time. He almost always stays up each night, preparing stuff for school. Poor guy.

Besides, the kitchen stuff, I also like using the TV for movie nights. (f/n) loves connecting her Netflix account, and has a box of popcorn under the cabinets. It's really buttery and has a variety of flavors.

I remember this one time when I was cleaning the broom closet, I found a secret stash of pop-tarts. Because of that, I wanted to figure out who it belonged to.

My first suspect was Emma. I asked her whether she loves pop-tarts, and she said no, saying that they were too sweet for her. I then asked Ray if he ever hid pop-tarts before, so that no one can find them.

He also said no, but added, "Where would I even hide them? The broom closet?"

And there was my answer. I confronted him, and he came clean. So as a resolution, Ray and I share the pop tarts, hoping that no one finds them.

As I was reminiscing the memory, Norman and Emma came at the same time. Ray raised up two fingers as a greeting, as I made a small wave. All of us were here.

But as I sipped my water, I noticed something was off. Emma and Norman looked like they ran a marathon. They were panting, and Norman wiped the side of his mouth.

"Are you guys okay?" I asked concerned. "You're both breathing really hard."

Norman shook his head. "No, it's fine, we're good," he said as he put his hands on his knees. Right, he isn't the most athletic person in the world.

But for Emma, it's a different story. She has a lot of stamina, and I barely ever see her get tired. But here she was, gasping for breath.

As she was walking over to the main desk, her form was a little bit strange. It seemed like her feet and legs weren't working correctly. I mean, she wobbled and almost fell on the carpet!

"Ow, my waist," I heard her mutter. Norman, being the protective boyfriend he is, instantly ran up to her. He then brought her to the tables carefully, where she sat down.

"Are you sure nothing happened?" Ray questioned as well. "Did both of you get hurt?"

They both refused and said they were fine. But still, it didn't seem correct, which I didn't really concern myself about. I just chose to go on with my life and finish my Eggo waffles.

(f/n) finally finished fish duty and came to us, with a fresh piece of buttered toast. "Honestly, are you sure you're okay? Emma, it's like you need a wheelchair or something."

Ray and (f/n) laughed at her joke, and I was about to join in as well until the answer finally clicked. Norman and Emma blushed furiously, refusing to look at each other. We must have all realized the fact at the same time because we simultaneously glanced at them in shock.
