《When Fireflies Diminish | Poetry》24 | Winter Has Come

The flavour of wintry air fills my warm lungs,

As my mouth inhales and exhales painfully

Forming cloud-like puffs.

Soon, the ground will be filled with white,

Frosted blues that'll send shivers to my spine.

Featureless crystals, warm mugs, snug hugs,

Rime that'll burn the feet as I walk.

Oh, winter has come!

The branches shiver at the wind's scourging touch,

Their multicoloured leaves falling one by one.

Gone are the klaleidscopic hues, the flowers,

The swallows that love the summer's sun.

Leaving only the sparrows and nightingales

To fill the night with a beautiful musical touch.

Oh, winter has come!
