《Flame & Frost | Rise of the Guardians Fanfiction》You Can See Me!

Jade and Megan's face lost their colors as they stared at each other, wide-eyed. Me and Jamie exchanged glances, where Jamie pulled a confused face.
"Did she j-just... said m-m-my name?" Jade stuttered, starting to stand up slowly. Megan's pupils dilated slightly and followed Jade's action. Megan's looking at Jade? For real?
"Oh my God..." Megan emphasized. "Oh. my. God." She repeats, now shaking her head. Whaaaat? Now I definitely don't understand girls with their emotional moments.
"Mom used to tell me stories about you!" Megan erupted excitedly, her petite frame slightly jumping up and down. Thats where Jade definitely lost it.
She literally ran over to Megan, engulfing her in a hug of pure joy and happiness. At least, thats what I think. Their bodies almost made no difference in size, as Jade is skinny and petite. Not mini-petite, just normal-petite. Ahh, you know what I mean.
"How can you see me?" Jade cried out, not of sadness and horror but out of excitement and joy. Megan's the first one to actually can see her after, like, 300 years, or more. I know that feeling, I've been there before.
"Like I've said, mom always tells me about you." Megan giggled.
Her mom knew Jade existed?
"You helped me and my family once, remember? Our house was on fire, ferocious fire, and you came to control it. You helped us, saved us." Megan said softly, clinging to Jade's arms.
Oh yeaaaaah. That memory where her brother-
"I wasn't able to save your brother though... I'm sorry." Jade apologized, tackling Megan into another hug. "Its okay, not your fault."
"Am I missing something here?" Jamie interrupted just as I gave a humongous smile of happiness by the fact that my girlfriend (Oops, mate) is overjoyed! Cherished! Delighted! I need to stop with my vocabulary now.
"You can't see Jade, thats what you're missing." Megan mutters. I have to say, she is quite mature for an eleven year old.
The 'incident' she faced had probably changed her into a more careful and observant person. I didn't know where that came from, I just say it. Don't judge.
"Oh, okay," Jamie said awkwardly. I strained my laugh; Jamie's face was priceless!
Whilst Jade and Megan shared stories about the legends that said Jade was a fire goddess (which is pretty awesome, but untrue), me and Jamie went looking at the stars. Apparently we got bored and slumped on the bed, with the girls chattering briskly behind us. At this moment, I knew Jade was happy.

I thought I'd messed up the visit -- because of Jamie. But as soon as Megan came in and saw her, it was a fire, vanquished by pure water. Jade's sadness was swept away and turned into joy. I can't lie that I'm happy along with her. What I'm dissapointed with here is Jamie.
He shouldn't have said anything like what he'd said before. Anything but that.
"There's also a legend that says about a water god, and his mortal mate that died. Grandma said that he will have a new mate along this century. He's real too, right, Jade?" Megan said cheerfully, happy that she and Jade are actually talking.
Whilst I stare at the ceiling I realised -- that Jade had turned silent.
I rolled my body to lay on my stomach and looked at Jade and Megan. Jade had her brown eyes wide and alert, frozen. Megan just stared awkwardly at her. Then Megan turned to me, mouthing, 'is she having a panic attack?'
I scrambled down to sit beside the frozen, glassy Jade, who hadn't shown any signs of breathing at all. I shook her, mentioning her name softly. She wouldn't budge.
Well this is weird.
"What were you two talking about before she--"
"A water god and his new mate." Megan said nervously, fiddling with her fingers and looking at Jade. Ohh yeah. A water god -- Wait, what?!
I also came into a state of comma just like Jade, frozen for who knows how long.
"You mean Aqua?" I said as I recovered, I raised an eyebrow in disbelief. Megan nodded.
"Aqua Deep," she said. "He's having a new mate,"
"REALLY?!" Jade bellowed, almost causing me a heart attack. I clutched at my startled heart as my other hand patted Jade's shoulder, telling her to calm down.
"I thought his mate was long dead?" The fact that Jade said turned to be more of a question rather than a fact. "Yes, but he's having a new one."
Jade went pale. "Ohh..." She responded shakily.
"How is she going to be like?" I asked.
"No idea," Megan shrugged at my question. I sighed.
Ring ringg !!
The front pocket of my jeans buzzed, tickling me. I slipped my hand in the pocket and fished out my white iPhone.
I was suprised as soon as I saw North's face -- handsome face -- appear on the screen. "NORTH" it said in big bold letter. I swiped the screen to answer the call and pressed it to my ear.

"Helloooooooo?" I heard North say. "Uhm. Hello." I answered awkwardly. I've never been on a call before. "Oh, you picked up. I thought you couldn't even unlock the iPhone's lock screen." He said in an obvious tone. I scoffed. "I know how to use a smartphone."
"Fine." Was all he said.
"Umm... Is there something you wanted to tell me asides from that, North?" I muttered.
"OH YEAH. Come home, you and Jade need to see Aqua!" He chuckled. I raised an eyebrow as if he was infront of me. I replied with an 'okay' before he disconnected the call.
"Whats up?" Jade asked, her hand pressing onto my arm lightly. "North wanted us to come home and see Aqua."
"Is there something wrong?" Jade frowned, and I shrugged.
"Well we have to go now, kids." I said, trying to be mature and serious but ended up grinning.
After giving goodbyes to both Megan and Jamie -- of course, Jade wouldn't even want to look at Jamie, she pretended that he wasn't there -- me and Jade went straight to North's, yelling to the wind, 'Wind, take us hoooome!'
On our way, we stumbled upon Ben and Breeze, who was also on their way to the workshop. As we reached the control room inside the workshop, I could see North's huge frame covered Aqua's, Tooth, Sandy, Bunny and Cupid surrounding him.
"We're here," I said loudly, and that made Aqua and the other Guardians flipped their attention to us. The elementors. North suddenly uncovered Aqua, who was standing smugly with a girl on his side.
A girl we've clearly never met before, judging from Ben and Breeze's surprised and curious stare. Jade, on the other hand, made a growling sound as she studied the girl before us. "Who is she?" I heard Breeze ask lowly as we made our way to where they stand.
The girl had green eyes, caramel hair that falls just below her shoulders in bangs and a tall, slim figure. But she was no taller than me and Jade, I could percieve.
"Guys, meet Alaine," Aqua gushed, introducing her. We just said hi to her -- except Jade --, none of us tried to make a move to go up to her and shake hands. We stood there, like statues, but the most statue-like among us four is Jade, she stood still, hands on her sides, her dark hair swiveling quietly. Her light brown eyes went dim, and the red halo around her pupils were glowing bright as she fixed her stare to Alaine.
"You again." Jade said icily to Alaine, pulling up a smug I'm-trying-to-like-you-but-I-don't smile. Alaine narrowed her green eyes at Jade, raising a sharp eyebrow.
"Hi," Alaine scoffed at Jade, crossing her arms up to her chest as Jade's eyes turned from light brown to black, and dissolved into a deep, almost unnoticeable red color.
I was standing beside Jade, and I have to say, its getting hotter and hotter. I took a step away from Jade as I realised she was boiling.
"Are you enjoying your free time burning down my precious vines, Flame?" Alaine emphasized Jade's last name menacingly.
"Yes, when they're trying to strangle me and my fire walls -- in purpose. They were begging to be burnt down, they asked for it, Dahlia." Jade spat.
"Oh well, just as you to know that they hate fire." Alaine responded, rubbing her nails on her green dress. "Why, what happened to you front hair braid? Realised that they're too classic and decided to pull it off?" She laughed.
"They untangled themselves due to the sight of your fake face." Jade's next comeback was a blow to Alaine's face, as she soured as soon as Jade said them out.
"Hmph." Alaine flipped her hair, avoiding Jade.
Me and the others were frozen, just looking at these two having a mouth fight made us pause to interrupt.
"Bitch." I heard Jade cuss under her breath, and I jumped ever so slightly. I never heard Jade cuss before. I glanced at her, where her eyes are now the brightest red I've ever seen.
"Jade--" Aqua chuckled nervously.
"What." Jade snapped, sparks ignite in her eyes.
"Nothing." Aqua shook his head quickly, giving me a nervous stare.
We all stood silent as Jade fumed off, getting pissed at the sight of Alaine infront of her.
Well this is going to be interesting.
