《Killua X Reader [An Endless Bond]》[33] Mystery

Finally, your back touched the wall, narrowing down your options for escape. You took a deep breath, gaining back your composure as you re-solidified your Ten.
"Look, I don't know who you are or what you want... but please stay away from Killua and Alluka!" you exclaimed, balling your hands into fists.
He tilted his head, growing more and more amused. "Stay away~?" He chuckles, looking straight at you. "(Y/N)-chan, you could say the same for yourself ♢."
'H-Huh...?'
"N-No, what are you talking about?!" You glared at him. "There's no way I'm doing that!"
Finally, he sighs, though his amused smile never left his lips. It was almost as if he was expecting your response. "Ah~ too bad then~ ♤" he chuckled. "Sad to see another toy get destroyed even before I get to play with them~"
An uneasy feeling settled into the pit of your stomach as he said that. 'What the hell is this guy's deal?!' You thought, feeling your blood start to simmer and boil.
Your balled fists started shaking with anger as a deep frown overtook your features. "Stop saying that..." you mumbled, with a red-hot glare to match.
"Oh?" He stared directly at you, watching your gaze intently with a smile you couldn't really describe. "I like that look on your eyes, (Y/N)-chan~ ♡" he muses once more with that honeyed tone of his.
Feeling a chill run down your spine, you gritted your teeth, facing him with an even darker glare. "Just... stop saying that already!" You exclaimed, raising a fist and focusing most of your aura onto it.
He only stared at you with an amused smile as he watched your Ko concentrate around your fist. Licking his lips, he watched you in anticipation as you focused on your aura.
Every part of your body was telling you this was a bad idea. Every part of your body was telling you that this was dangerous. However, as you remembered his warning about Killua and Alluka, you couldn't help but have the urge to fight.
With your nen-concentrated fist, you swung at him as forcefully as you can. In no time at all, it was merely inches away from making contact with his smug face.
Suddenly, you felt something hold you back, stopping you from going any farther.

'What?!'
It caught you off-guard, as the aura around your fist quickly dispersed. With a panic-stricken look, you whipped your head around, only to see a familiar set of blue eyes. Only this time, they seemed like a cold, bottomless pit, devoid of the warmth and shine you were so familiar with.
"K-Killua?!" You widened your eyes, noticing his hand around your arm. 'He... stopped me,'
"(Y/N)..." Killua made a slight frown, before turning to Hisoka, who was still wearing that same smile.
You saw his frown grow deeper as he began to release hostile aura. Seeing him this way, you tensed up immediately, gulping nervously.
'I haven't seen him this way since we saw Illumi... is this clown related to Illumi somehow?' You thought to yourself, gazing at Hisoka through the corner of your eye.
Killua only kept his icy glare fixated on Hisoka. "What the hell did you do to her?" His deep voice was laced with silent fury. Putting a protective arm around your shoulders, he pulled you towards his chest.
'H-Huh?!'
Hisoka merely chuckled, looking Killua up and down. "Ahh~ Killua. You've improved. I assume you've been training hard?"
You looked at them back and forth. 'So, they do know each other, after all.'
"Oi, stop dodging the question," Killua said, his voice firm. "What did you do to her? Did Illumi send you?"
"Ah, did Illumi send me, I wonder~♢" was his mere reply.
This did not seem to go over well with Killua, as his frown grew even deeper. "You creep. Now's not the time to be joking around. Answer me!"
Hisoka did not answer. He merely gazed at him with that sickly sweet smile. "I would like for us to talk longer, Killua. Unfortunately, I must take my leave now," he says, before looking directly at you. "After all, I've said everything I wanted to say."
An uneasy feeling settled into the pit of your stomach. 'What he said about Killua and Alluka... Does Illumi... know where we are now?'
"Don't you dare leave now, Hisoka!" Killua exclaimed, letting you go and stepping in front of you. He quickly activated his Nen as his entire body surged with electricity.
"Ah, ah, ah~ Too close!" Hisoka waved a finger around, before nonchalantly throwing a bunch of Nen-infused cards towards the both of you.

Before you could react, Killua already caught the cards with unimaginable speed. You stared in awe as he held the cards that were releasing steam from the speed it was thrown. Soon after, though, you quickly looked to where Hisoka stood.
However, he was already gone.
"What?! Where...?" You found yourself frowning in confusion.
Meanwhile, an audible "tsk" could be heard from Killua's lips as he tossed the cards away. "That clown and his stupid tricks... What in the world is he doing here?!" He exclaimed in irritation, deactivating his Nen.
You gulped, turning to Killua. "Killua... who... who is he?"
Hearing your voice call for him, Killua whipped his head to face you. Immediately, you could see his icy gaze melt away, as they were replaced with that familiar warmth... and worry. It was as if he was finally looking at you.
"(Y/N)..." he mumbled, reaching out to wrap his arms around you as he let out a long sigh of relief.
You could feel his protective warmth against you as he nuzzled his face onto the crook of your neck. "His name's Hisoka. He's... someone dangerous. Someone we should stay away from," he mumbled, stroking your head softly.
You couldn't help but melt into his touch as you hugged him back just as tightly. "Thank you for stopping me back there. I had a feeling something was gonna go wrong if I tried to hit him."
Killua only nods, before pulling away and facing you with a serious look, holding on to both of your shoulders. "What did he do?"
"Huh?"
"Did he do anything? What did he say? How did he find you?" The questions kept on coming.
You waved your hands in an attempt to slow him down. "Wait! Calm down! I can't answer everything at once!" You exclaimed, a small smile tugging at your lips.
Killua's eyes widened, as he took a slow breath. "Sorry, this isn't like me," he mumbled, looking down for a bit to collect himself. "Just, what happened, exactly?"
You pursed your lips, remembering what Hisoka implied about Killua and Alluka. "While I was looking for Alluka... I bumped into him. He started talking to me as if he knew who I was, even though I've never met him before, and–" you sigh. "He just creeps me out."
Killua stared at you intently. "Was that it? He didn't try anything? Knowing him... you're probably already one of his targets..."
You gulped. "N-No... he mostly just went on about things I don't even understand."
"Are you sure that's it?"
"Yes!" you nodded profusely. "More importantly, have you found Alluka? I don't think she's here..."
Killua sighed. "I received a text from her earlier. Said she was busy with something 'important'. Geez..."
You tilted your head in confusion. "Important?"
"I don't know either!" An irk mark appeared on Killua's forehead as he reached for his phone. "I'll try calling her again."
You watched him put his phone to his ear. As each second passed by, you watched his expression grow more and more pissed. Finally, he put his phone down with a huff. "No answer, huh? Well, FINE then! Can't wait to see your face when you find out what just happened!" he angrily mumbles, while you could only sweatdrop at his actions.
"Uhhh... well maybe she's still attending to something?" You suggested in an attempt to calm him down.
He could only sigh. "I don't even know what's going on with her anymore... I give up." He breathes out, before his phone rings with a new text message.
Immediately as it rang, Killua went to check on it. "Oh, so NOW you decide to reply?" He says, irritation laced in his tone.
You perk up as you heard her name. "What did she say?"
Killua went and read the message, though his face quickly turned into a look of confusion. "Come, take a look."
You walk closer, peering onto his phone.
'Hi Onii-chan! Sorry if this is late but I just found out about something! I'll tell you and Onee-chan all about it when I get back hehe.'
You could only look at it in confusion "W...What?"
"Exactly!" Killua facepalms, putting his phone away. "Geez, I don't even get what's going on in her head at this point."
"Hmm..." you put a finger to your chin in thought. "Then.. we should probably head back and wait for her."
Killua sighs. "Yeah, you're right. I wanna know what in the world she's been up to."
