《Killua X Reader [An Endless Bond]》[14] Excitement

"Woah!" You gasp in awe, stepping into your new room in Heavens Arena. Running over to the bed, you started bouncing excitedly on it, leaving Killua and Alluka by the entrance.
"Everything's so fancy!" You giggle, letting yourself fall on the bed. Soon enough, Alluka runs over and joins you. Meanwhile, Killua, who was snacking on a lollipop, nonchalantly walked over and sits on the chair by the bed.
"Isn't this great, Killua?" You ask happily, sitting up into a cross-legged position. "We have more space for training now!"
"I wouldn't be too sure about that," he speaks, pulling the lollipop from his mouth with an audible pop. "If you drop below the 100s, you have to check out of this room," he warns, waving his lollipop around. "A world of difference separates making it to the 100s and staying in the 100s."
You frown, pouting at him. "I finally made it past the 90s and this is what you say? Are you trying to discourage me?!" You exclaim, pointing a finger at him.
"Of course not!" He replies, looking a little flustered. Sighing deeply, he urges you to just listen. "The 100th floor is like a ceiling. Once you pass it, you get special treatment, so everyone focuses on holding their spot," he pauses, standing up from his seat and looking at you directly in the eye. "Some people will do anything it takes to stay in the 100s... Be careful, (Y/N)."
Slightly taken aback by his serious tone, you nodded on instinct. Killua's intense gaze softens once more after that, as he continues to eat his lollipop.
By the time you fully processed his words, though, you couldn't help but smile mischievously. "Killua... you were worried about me?"
Killua's eyes widen as he abruptly stops all movement. Slowly, a light blush spreads to his cheeks, though he was able to maintain half of his composure. "Of course I am, stupid!" he blurts out, before turning his back to you in slight embarrassment.
Your eyes widened as he said that, not believing he actually admitted it. You gave Killua a genuinely happy smile, ignoring the unusually warm feeling spreading over your chest. He wasn't able to see, though, since he was facing away from you.
After glancing at him one more time with that smile, you turned to Alluka and chatted with her for a bit.
A short while later, you realize that it was almost time for your fight. You started getting ready, pure excitement showing on your face and movements.
"Hey, (Y/N), do you like fighting?" Killua asks, noticing your excitement.
You turn to him. "Yeah! I know it sounds kinda bad to like fighting... but I just feel so much energy and thrill!" You say happily.
Killua gives you a small smile. "Don't worry, I get it."

"(Y/N) WINS YET ANOTHER MATCH TODAY!! THIS MEANS SHE'LL BE ADVANCING TO THE 150s!!" The announcer screams out as you look down at your bloodied opponent passed out on the ground. You unknowingly gave a strangely dark, yet satisfied smile as you examined his unconscious form. Eventually, you gaze up at the audience to look for Killua and Alluka, a much brighter and purer smile making its way to your face as you did so.

Killua finds you smiling and waving at him. He smiles back, raising and waving his hand back as well.
'Looks like I worried for nothing,' he thought, closing his eyes and smiling in relief to himself as he remembered what he told you a couple of days ago.
_ _ _
Back at Wing's house, you were practicing maintaining your Ren as you watched Wing teach Alluka how to do it for the first time.
'For someone with zero experience in fighting and Nen, she's learning way too fast...' you thought to yourself, watching Alluka attempt to do it. 'Killua's family is scary...'
While Alluka trained, you kept your focus on your Ren, not noticing yourself getting more and more tired with each passing minute. Wiping off a bead of sweat from your forehead, you closed your eyes and imagined each cell in your body gather in power, slowly preparing to release that energy like little explosions.
After around 10 minutes, though, you found yourself collapsed on the ground from exhaustion. Your Ren slowly dissipated, leaving you to lay on the cold floor catching your breath. Alluka, who's been trying to project her aura as well, also slumped to the ground with you.
"Well done, (Y/N)-chan, Alluka-chan!" You hear Wing say. "Now, it's time for your training with Killua, good luck!" He says jovially, ignoring your groans and the fact that the two of you are unbelievably exhausted.
'Seriously?!' You wanted to say, but decided not to. Forcing yourself to get up, you find Killua already there, visibly relaxed with his hands in his pockets.
"You guys have a long way to go. I can easily maintain my Ren for 3 hours," he says casually, a small smirk tugging at his lips.
"Yeah, yeah, we get it," You sigh, feeling your breath steadying. You look at him expectantly, waiting for him to instruct you. Instead, he had a slightly worried look on his face as he approached his sister.
"Alluka, can you stand?" Killua asks, helping Alluka get up. She nods happily at him, even though she's really tired. Killua sighs deeply. "I can't train you if you can't even lift a finger. What the hell is Four-eyes doing?"
You chuckle at him, staring at his annoyed features. "We can keep going. Right, Alluka?"
"Yeah!"
Killua sighs in resignation. "Okay, fine. You guys are surprisingly serious about this..." He says, raking a hand through his fluffy hair, a thoughtfully worried look in his eyes.
You manage to put a hand on his shoulder. "Of course we're taking this seriously. It's so we can protect you one day," you gave him a closed-eyed smile, bright and warm. He stares at you for a bit, feeling his face ever so slightly warm up. "Yeah," was all he managed to say.
You've been so busy with your training and Heavens Arena these days, that you failed to notice just how much stronger Alluka is now. You watch her move swiftly and agilely in the room with widened eyes. Vividly, you remember all those times Alluka would give you soul-crushing hugs when before, her touch was as weightless as a feather. You couldn't help but smile proudly at her progress.

'At least she can protect herself now. He won't have to worry so much anymore,' you smiled at the thought, hoping that would give Killua some peace of mind.

By the time training was done, Wing came in with Zushi by his side.
"Hey Zushi!" You wave at him. Killua and Alluka gave him friendly greetings as well. He waves back, a nervous smile evident in his features.
You frown in confusion, tilting your head a little as you did. Wondering what was making him so agitated, you look to Wing for some answers.
"(Y/N)-chan, Alluka-chan. As you all know, Zushi here is a fighter in the 200s," he begins, addressing both of you. Killua listens on as well.
'There's only one reason why he would bring this up,' he inferred, closing his eyes and silently leaning his body on a wall, all the while keeping his ears alert for what Wing had to say.
"The 200s are full of Nen users, it's a perfect place to hone your abilities. While you two are already making excellent progress through training, there is so much more to learn outside of it." He pauses, glancing at Zushi. "Therefore, I think it would be a good idea for you to watch Zushi's match tomorrow. I got tickets for all of us!" With a flourish, he pulled out the tickets, giving them to each of you.
A confidently soft smile on his face, Killua stands upright once more and steps closer, inspecting the ticket given to him.
Meanwhile, you and Alluka look at it in awe. "Woah, we get to watch a match in the 200s?" You ask him in disbelief, looking back and forth at the ticket and at Wing.
"Yes, make sure to watch it closely," he kindly replies, with the smile to match.
"YAY!!" Alluka starts jumping up and down in excitement. "I wanna know how strong people fight!" she exclaims. You smile brightly at her infectious excitement, starting to feel pumped up as well.

As night falls, you decide to head back to your room in Heavens Arena.
"I'll walk you back," Killua insists, following you to the exit and leaving the others behind.
You shake your head, "I'll be fine, Killua. You focus on Alluka."
"But what if something happens?" He argues back.
Remembering the cold, lifeless expression of Illumi as he said that, small shivers went down your spine. Still, you held your ground.
"I can at least protect myself, that's why you and Wing have been teaching, right?" You give him a reassuring smile, putting both your hands on his shoulders.
You stare at each other for a bit, as if trying to convince each other with your gazes. Eventually, Killua relented, letting out a deep sigh.
Smiling at him, you were about to step away when suddenly, Killua pulled you in towards him, giving you a tight, yet secure hug.
Your eyes widened, not expecting someone like Killua to show any act of affection to anyone whatsoever. Well... except his sister maybe.
"K-Killua?!"
"Just... be careful, okay?" You hear him say, almost with worry.
Your eyes widened as he said that, genuinely surprised at his sweet and gentle tone.
You regained composure quickly, however, as you hugged him back just as tightly, choosing to savor this rare moment. He closes his eyes, deftly resting his chin on your shoulder, while he slips one hand behind your head and the other around your waist, holding you even more securely.
You relax against his touch, letting the warmth of his body take over your senses, which made you unaware of your own rise in temperature. Taking in a slow inhale, his scent fills you as it ingrains into your memory. One that you'll never forget.
After a comfortable silence, you two pulled away. You gave him a bright smile, oblivious to how tinted your cheeks have gotten. He smiles back as if saying "See ya later."

It was a potentially deadly, yet truly coincidental moment.
Loitering in a dark alley, his presence completely concealed, he spots you with the corner of his eye. You were simply on your way back to Heavens Arena, yet your mind was still occupied by what just happened moments earlier.
Remaining unnoticed, he gives you his full attention, not expecting someone with such high caliber in the area. He observes you intensely from behind, grinning sickly from ear to ear as he slowly licked his lips.
'So much potential... looks like I found yet another unripe fruit ~♧'
After he decided to come a little closer, you suddenly jerked your head back, noticing a dangerous presence behind you. After finding no one suspicious, visible creases started to form between your brows as you reluctantly continued forward, but with your Ten activated.
'Sharp senses too, and a good Ten. She's good... so good ♡' he smiles, concealing his escaped bloodlust once more.
Wanting to get a closer look, he was interrupted by a buzz from his phone. Almost reluctantly, he took it out and read the message sent to him.
Hisoka, meet me right now in the usual place.
- Illumi
"Ah, too bad ♤," he mumbles to himself. Retaining that honeyed smile of his, he glances back at you once more, before disappearing out of sight.
'We'll meet again, I'm sure of it'
