《Daughter of Mortis》Strengthening Connections

"Now, move back to back," Kanan ordered. Ezra, Ania, and Tolsa obeyed, moving into position. Sabine, Zeb, and Kanan stood around them, blasters aimed. After Ezra and Ania's narrow escape, Kanan had decided they needed more extensive battle training.
"No shoto, Ania," Kanan pointed out. She sighed and clipped the shoto to her belt. Tolsa was struggling to attach the two pieces of Kanan's lightsaber. He had lent her his, because she didn't have her own. The pieces finally clicked and sealed together.
"You ready for this?" Ezra asked Ania.
"Always. What about you, Tolsa?"
"As long as they don't kill me, I'm good."
"Blinder's down," Kanan called out. Ania flipped the pair of goggles over her eyes. She could no longer see anything. "Ready, and, go!"
Ania activated her lightsaber and began deflecting the others opened fire. She could hear Ezra and Tolsa's movements beside her. The blaster fire increased rapidly. Ania deflected all the bolts. Tolsa hissed beside her. She had let one blast by, apparently.
Her free arm brushed against Ezra's as she deflected the bolts. A low whistle began to echo around her. She continued to deflect, but moved her head towards the sound. Loud thuds pounded inside her mind. What is going on?
A diamond planet.
She deflected another blast and shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts.
A citadel.
The objects appeared with each thud that drummed through her skull.
An altar, surrounded by blue fire.
Two tombs, two bodies, two voices.
The planet faded and Ezra appeared. They were running towards something, lightsabers swinging. Their movements were completely coordinated, unflawed, and unmatched. Ahsoka appeared but was pulled away by shadowy hands.
Ania reached out for her, crying. Their hands clasped. She glanced around. Ezra was doing the same, only to Kanan. Both apprentices were thrown backwards by a stroke of power while their masters were sucked into an endless void. Red lights glared in Ania's eyes.
She screamed as the Twelfth Sister appeared above her, lightsaber lifted over her heart. Before the Sister could plunge her blade down, a green lightsaber blazed through her abdomen. Ania was whisked away from the scene and into another. Kein Rei threw plasma blades at her already battered body. She tried to crawl away, but couldn't.
A green lightsaber came arching down and smashed the blade thrown her way. With those synced movements again, Ania raised her lightsaber and beat back Kein with Ezra at her side.
They were somewhere new. She had never been there before. Ezra was next to her, an arm wrapped around her. She looked up at him and leaned close...
A hand raised and she was thrown into the crimson walls of the Emperor's palace. The Emperor laughed, blasting his lightning at her again. Ania screamed, but there was no one to hear. Vader's breathing echoed on.
She saw the diamond planet again and the citadel. Yellow eyes and blue black hair were reflected in a red hue. Ezra held a crimson duel bladed lightsaber in hand. Ania was next to him, in white, compared to his black. She carried a white duel bladed lightsaber.

"The two must be united," numerous voices echoed. She cried out, gripping her skull. Ezra fell to his knees, the same agony written in his expression.
"Tolsa, get down!" Sabine yelled. She didn't wait. Tolsa dove to the ground, but felt the wind of the lightsaber across her neck. She tore her blinders off and scrambled backwards. Ezra and Ania matched each blow with their lightsabers, brutally attacking one another.
"What are they doing!" She exclaimed.
"I don't know," Kanan ran over to her. His mask hid his full expression, but Tolsa could feel concern emanating from him.
Ezra and Ania continued to fight, matching each blow perfectly. The Force rippled off of them, sending stones rolling. It pulsed with every clash of their lightsabers. "Ania!" Tolsa called out. She glanced at Kanan, panicked. "She can't hear me!"
"Kanan," Sabine called warningly, as Ania's lightsaber came close to cutting Ezra. Their perfectly matched blows continued.
"Tolsa, we have to pull them apart before they kill each other. On my signal, you pull Ania and I'll grab Ezra," Kanan ordered. "Wait." Their lightsabers clashed a few times. They took a few paces back. "Now!" He struck out with a hand and grabbed Ezra with the Force. Tolsa copied him, grabbing onto Ania. She pulled and Ania flew backwards, landing beside Ezra. Her lightsaber fell from her hands and Ania went limp.
Tolsa and Sabine quickly knelt beside Ania. Sabine checked her pulse. "She's all right." Tolsa let out a sigh of relief.
"Wait, why aren't they waking up?" Tolsa gasped. She leaned over Ania.
"What made them act this way?" Kanan asked. He lifted a hand from Ezra's forehead.
"I'm not sure," Tolsa replied.
Sabine furrowed her brow. "I saw Ania bump into Ezra and then start acting like something was bothering her. That was right before they started attacking each other."
"I have an idea." Tolsa grabbed Ezra and Ania's hands. She quickly positioned them between the two.
Almost instantly, they sat up, gripping each other's hand tightly. "I had a vision," they gasped together. Ania blinked the fuzz away from her vision and glanced at their still clasped hands. Ezra didn't seem to notice. He rubbed his forehead with his free hand.
"Um, ahem," Zeb coughed pointedly.
"Oh, sorry," they said, together, again. Ania smiled, unsure, and let go of Ezra's hand.
"What happened?" Kanan asked. Ezra rubbed the back of his neck and Ania dropped her head into her hands.
"What exactly were we doing?" Ezra asked, not answering Kanan.
"One minute we were training, and the next, you two are fighting as though you were each other's worst enemy," Tolsa explained. "I've never seen anyone fight that way before. It was like you knew what moves the other would make. You matched perfectly."
"Kanan?" Ania looked to the Jedi.
"You three should keep practicing," Kanan said to Tolsa, Zeb, and Sabine. "We're going to talk." Ezra and Ania glanced at each other before following Kanan to two of their speeder bikes. Kanan hopped on one and took off.

Ania jumped on behind Ezra and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Did I hurt you?" She asked as they followed Kanan.
"No. Are you ok?"
"Yes. What do you think happened?"
"Honestly, I have no clue. If I had to guess, I'd say it was something to do with the Force," Ezra said somewhat sarcastically.
Ania rolled her eyes. "That really helps." He looked back at her, something new in his gaze. Ania flushed and quickly looked at the passing scenery. Something had happened, that was for sure. What did he see in his vision? She wondered, somewhat concerned.
They slowed to a stop before a familiar place. The Bendu was already sitting upright. "I sensed you were coming," his voice echoed.
Ania followed the two Jedi down the slope. "They need your help, Bendu," Kanan said. "I don't know what happened to them."
"That is the question. What happened to bring you here?" Bendu gazed at them casually.
"We were training and I began to have a vision," Ania began.
"Me too. And when we woke up, the others said we'd begun to fight each other," Ezra finished.
"It's true. Their movements were perfectly matched. I've never seen anything like it before," Kanan admitted.
"What did you see in your vision, togruta?" Bendu looked at Ania.
"I saw a diamond shaped planet with two tombs, a citadel, and an altar," Ania began. She quickly recounted the vision, but left out the part that occurred on the unfamiliar planet. "The last thing I saw was Ezra and I back on the diamond planet. Ezra had a red lightsaber and I had a white one."
"And what of your vision?" Bendu turned to Ezra.
"I saw the same things except, instead of the Emperor and Vader, I was somewhere fighting against Maul," Ezra explained.
"Tell me of your connection."
"We...don't have one," Ezra glanced at Ania, confused.
"Actually, I think we do. We both shared the same vision before even meeting each other," Ania pointed out.
"Aha! I knew you had it!" Ezra burst out.
"Can I finish please?"
"Oh, sorry."
"We also opened a Jedi Temple together. When I was moving around the old camp in my meditative state, when I was first your prisoner, Ezra could see me, or, well, not exactly see me."
Ezra nodded, catching on. "I could sense her and knew exactly where she was, even though I couldn't see her. The same thing happened when you were prisoner." A subtle wave of anger rippled off him.
"I have heard of something similar, although not quite the same. There was a prophecy about a dyad appearing in the Force. It is not the two of you, although your connection is very similar to that of a dyad. Your connection is something different. I suspect it has to do with that strange planet you have seen," Bendu explained.
"So what does this vision mean?" Kanan asked.
"It means nothing as of now. Their connection is growing stronger in the Force. That is why it linked them. I am sure they will discover what it all means in time. They will have to do it together, though. This is all the knowledge I have for you." Bendu began to shift back towards the ground.
"Wait, that's it?" Ezra called out. "Not even a clue to help us figure this out?"
Bendu stopped sinking, staring at them. "Inside of you both, I sense the Ashla and Bogan. Who is what and what will come of this, I know not. You must proceed with caution; this I do know. You could become each other's greatest strength, or greatest weakness. If you do not unite the two, all balance will be lost." Bendu sank the rest of the way down.
"Well, that was no help at all," Ezra mumbled.
"It was something. Bendu told me before that I have to unite the two. Now we know that's connected to us," Ania pointed out.
"Maybe we need to figure out what he meant when he was talking about the Ashla and Bogan," Ezra suggested.
"Did you two even listen to him? Bendu said this could be dangerous and to proceed with caution," Kanan broke in. "I don't want you two doing anything that could jeopardize your safety or the safety of the crew. In fact, maybe I should keep you apart for now."
"No!" They both shouted.
Ania glanced at Ezra. "That won't solve anything, Kanan. We need to find out what the two things are that need to be reunited. If we have to do it together, then the worst thing you could do is separate us."
Kanan's comm began beeping rapidly. He sighed and answered it. "Spectre 1, here."
"Kanan, you should come back to base. Commander Sato has a mission for you and Ania," Hera's voice said through the comm.
"On our way." Kanan switched off his comm. "Let's go. We'll talk about this later." He led the way back to the speeders.
Ania climbed on behind Ezra and they took off once again. "I get the feeling Kanan still doesn't like me very much."
"It's not that. He just doesn't like not understanding something," Ezra replied.
"Well, he's not the only one. Whether he likes it or not, Bendu said this is something we have to figure out together." She thought for a moment. "You don't think he'd actually try to keep us away from each other, do you?"
They pulled up the the base and jumped off the speeder. Ezra turned. "Hey, even if he did, I doubt there's anything that could keep me away from you." He turned on his heel and headed towards the command center.
Ania cast a skeptical glance at him, then grinned slightly. "Hm. What ever you say, I guess." She followed, curious to see what her next mission would bring. Hopefully, it would be less eventful than the past few. If anything, she could use a break from all the fighting, both physically, and mentally.

8 87Death Lives
When the universe is destroyed the avatar of death is reborn.Once an all powerful being but limited in scope, Death now has a chance to learn and grow.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This is my first novel, please be critical of it where it needs to be. I'm not sure if there will be romance in the future. It is unlikely for the MC but perhaps I will have meaningful relationships between side characters that will be worth adding the tag.The Mature tag is simply because there will be killing, descriptive scenes, and more. There will be no described rape at all in my story, anything of the like will be merely alluded to but not talked about in any matter if at all. Please enjoy and thank you.

They claimed that Lancelot's deep, dark secret - screwing Queen Guinnevere, caused a massive civil war that effectively screwed Avalon too. Truth is, Lancelot did have HER deep, dark secret. That SHE was probably the only woman in the world who wasn't into other women. After literally lifetimes of reliving and dying in the same damn cycle, Mordred's done playing nice. Screw trying to persuade the Knights of the Round Table Lancelot didn't swing that way. This isn’t a story about becoming a hero amongst heroes.
