"Bokkusu, your turn to share."
I walked to the front of the room, the white board pressed to my chest.
I turned to face the class, a bit flustered for being put on the spot. I rest the board on the podium.
In neat, beautiful letters wrote, "エルピダ"
"Elpída. It's Greek, it means Hope."
"How cute! Approved!" Midnight exclaimed.
"You know Greek?" The class shouted at me.
"No." I said, up hauled by their suddenly shouting.
The entire class of 1-A and 1-B stood at the train station. Azawia explained a few things, nothing significant enough to actually pay attention to. All I was worried about was, I hope I get to do something fun, or cool.
We boarded our trains, a few of us got on the same trains, going in the same relative direction.
I pulled out a pair of cat whisker design earbuds and plugged them into my phone. I hit play on the current news podcast.
They were talking about minor crime rates, and recent attacks from the HeroKiller. I fell asleep against the window, hoping we'd arrive soon.
"Good evening Elpída, I hope your trip here was pleasant." I was greeted by Best Jeanist, after having previously changed into my hero suit. Which, I had gotten changed since my last once didn't suit my fancy, especially the shoes. It wasn't practical.
It was mostly a dark, matte purple top layer. It wrapped me like a robe, a peachy-pink trim went along the edges. It's sleeves reached my elbows and flared out. The bottom reached right below my butt, splitting in the front.
In the middle was the same peach pink colored obi. It was tied around with a dark purple ribbon.
Underneath I wore a skin tight, long sleeved gaurd. It cover my middle and ring fingers. It didn't go past my collar bone, but it extended up my neck, making a mouth gaurd. It was black in color, but white whiskers decorated the mouth piece.

A hood came out from under the top layer, but over the sleeved layer. It hooked around and under my arms like a harness and hooded my head. It was also black, but pointed cat ears pultruded from the top. It gave plenty of space for my ears to hide, without compromising my sense of hearing. It only left room for my bangs to poke out.
On top of the hood was a large scarf. It served no purpose, but it's long end and beginning wafted through the air. The peach pink.
Under the bottom of my clothing, I wore a pair of booty shorts to keep the short fabric from revealing my undergarments.
Lastly, I wore a pair of light weight boots, the same color as my main layer. They reached my ankle and were secured by a peach layer of bandages.
My previous weapon, of rubber bullets and a gun had been replaced. I now had a gun that shot compressed air, curtsy of a girl from the first year tech class. Using my separate quirk, I can load it with air to be shot. The damages were minimum. If collided with a solid piece of someone's body, like a bullet and a proof vest, it'll only cause painful bruising and knock you off your feet. If it were to skim or graze someone it would result in a scratch and mild bleeding. The pain would still be enough to hinder their ability to think, process, and move.
I keep it hidden in a holster beneath my obi.
Beat Jeanist was a top ten pro so I assumed we'd get to do cool stuff.
"Quite." I replied, being polite.
Just then, someone came stomping into the room.
I turned my head over my shoulder to see, the one and only, Bakugo Katsuki in all his angered glory.

"Hello Bakugo." Best Jeanist greeted.
He began telling Bakugo why he was here. He said reforming brutish people, such as Bakugo, was his job. Then he direct his speech to both him and I. He told us he was going to show us what it is that makes people heroes.
"First we are going to patrol the city. While these may see pointless, Pros have to patrol the city to deter villains from committing crimes. This doesn't always work, and you have the ones who still try, that is why you have to always be ready."
When he finished his explanation of the point of patrols, a group of older looking girls strolled down the sidewalk up to us.
They were incoherently whispering, I couldn't tell what they were saying, assuming it was because of my own hood, I pulled it down, along with my mask.
"Oh my god look."
"It's really him."
"He looks so much better in person."
"Not that he looks bad on TV."
I nearly bursted into laughter listening to the girls. They were older than I and they were fangirling over Best Jeanist like pre-schoolers.
I glanced at Best Jeanist to see him posing, combing his hair back.
"Patrolling also helps give the public a little peace of mind."
It seemed Bakugo caught on to his sudden change in position and said something.
"You just like the attention!"
Best Jeanist simply ignored him and approached him. He took his comb and ran it through Bakugo's hair. When he was finished, it was nearly combed flat and to one side.
"You'll never get anywhere looking like you do."
"As for you," he looked toward me.
He went behind behind me, pulling my hair out of my hood all the way. He seemed to have trouble getting it all out of my clothes, where I had tucked it because I didn't want to brush it.
When he got it all out, it reached my waist in a tangled mess. I was mildly embarrassed because I hadn't taken the time to groom myself. I could almost feel him grimacing from behind me.
He began tugging and pulling at my scalp. By the time he was done I could feel my hair had been all put up into a tight bun. It pulled my head and gave me a headache. As for my bangs, he raked them back and clipped them back.
I irked.

They Are Our Smols
You’ve read They Are Smol. You’ve enjoyed They Are Smol (if you haven’t, well, prepare to not enjoy this one either). But this is smols like you’ve not seen them before. This is extreme smolness with a lemon twist: smols fucked up big time in this one, and Earth, well… Earth is empty of smols. At least the ayys hope so, because it’s fallout time back there. The ones that got away — and let’s face it, it was all of them that were left — had no place to go. Homeless, smol and needing protectings, they were taken in. For the lucky ayys out there, they’re our smols. This is a not-so-serious slice of life alternate universe where the entire population of Earth, what was left after the dead man’s switch was flipped and the nukes successfully irradiated the planet, were evacuated en masse and then taken in by the galactic civilization at large. I’ll probably write a few more in this silly, comfy alternate timeline to expand on what’s different, but don’t take it too seriously, okay? I do not take credit for the original setting, this story is set in an alternate version of the 'They are Smol' universe, written by the one, the only u/tinyprancinghorse.TPH takes many forms and is known by many names. He is like Nyarlathotep, only smaller and cuter and more prancey. TPH also has a Website and a Patreon.
