Tomorrow I would join the most annoyingly possible school. UA.
I braided my hair in a loose, French braid, that reached my waist.
I was on my way to the inbox shop. I don't really know exactly what to call the building. But my UA uniform was supposed to be in the mail. And I can't go in the school without wearing it.
There's the inbox building.
"Good morning, Mr. Chu." I walked in the shop, not looking anywhere but to the mail box.
My ears twitched, I heard a faint groan come from the alley door.
Not caring about the key stuck in my mail box, I rushed to the door. With a single kick, I knocked the door off it's hinges.
Mr.Chu was standing, weakly against the wall beside me. His blue, plaid shirt was ripped. It exposed his big belly.
On the opposite side was, what I assumed, a pro-hero. None that have been heard of, a minor, insignificant piece of existence.
He looked to be the one who hurt Mr.Chu.
I rushed to Mr.Chu's side to try and support him to walk. Due to my size I wasn't able to help very much. I was mostly there for moral support in his eyes. To let him know he wouldn't die alone.
Being beside him I was able to see his injuries better. He had large gashes in his stomach, cuts all over his arms and face.
His blood loss was fatal. He began crumbling to the ground below. He was coughing up blood. His eyes started closing. With all his energy he looked at me, smiling. His smile made me tear up.
He was always so kind. He looked out for everyone. He always made sure that all the neighborhood kids got a piece of candy.

"At least those kids got away." He smiled, "Here."
He shakily handed me a handful of candy from his pocket. It was then, he died. Bleeding out on the street. A smile on his face.
I stood up from my spot beside Mr.Chu. I looked harshly at the pro-hero who caused this.
"Leave, kid." He announce.
I stood my ground. He slowly began approaching me. Long blades pultruded from his knuckles. They glistened with filth.
"What kind of pro are you?" I asked.
"He got in the way of my apprehending of thieves."
"What kind of excuse is that!" I yelled at him, as I also approached him.
"Leave, kid."
As soon as those words left his throat I lunged at him. We were meters apart, but I swiftly closed the distance between us. I lunged myself over his head in attempt to get behind him, but he was able to catch the back of my sweater and force me to the ground.
I skidded across the alley, a few meters away from him. I rolled from my back over onto my hands and feet in a spread out, plank position. He brought his blades down beside me, attempting to limit me from moving.
He hovered above me. Claws on both my sides.
Deciding to take a risk, I transformed.
I let out a throaty growl. I twisted my body, to be back on my back.
I bit into his exposed neck. Clamping down hard on his neck, his neck broke, and he began gargling blood.
His body went limp. The blades retracted, back into his fist.
I rolled him over on his back, off of me. I released his throat, he was still breathing. With any luck, he'll die, suffocated by his own blood.

My adrenaline died. I walked back over to my old friend and rested my head on him.
His heart beat had faded away, his body slowly began to turn cold.
Thick tears rolled down my fur. I curled my tail around his big belly. A paw laid on his chest.
I almost wanted to be carried away by sleep, but I knew if they found me here I wouldn't stand a chance against several pros at once.
I transformed. Kneeling at his side, his eyes were open slightly, and his smile was as wide as ever. I carefully closed his eyes.
I walked the length of the alley, picking up the pieces of candy he gave me.
I gave him one final look before going back inside the inbox room.
Behind the counter was Mr.Chu's belongings.
There was a picture, in a silver frame, of him and all the children on the block. It was taken during Halloween one year.
A snow globe of a decorated mail letter.
An almost empty jar of candies.
And a small letter opener that had his initials carved in the grip.
I turned my face away, not being able to bare looking at the kind man's stuff anymore.
I got on my knees in front of my inbox and turned the key. Inside was a note.
Your package wouldn't fit in the mail box. I didn't want it to get all wrinkled. It's in the back on the break room counter. Hmm...I wonder what it is...
-Chu
I folded the note and shoved it in my hoodie pocket. He was always so considerate of others.
And what do they do, but murder him.
Sitting on the counter was a thick, flat package addressed to Pandora Bokkusu. From UA.
I put the package safely under my arm and exited the building.
Mr.Chu will always be a part of my thoughts. The one who cared.
