《SWEATER WEATHER | dylan sprayberry [✓]》59; hugs and - well, hugs

"Yeah, I did, so?" the blonde chuckled, playing with the sleeves of her shirt – or a sweater. It was something in between, Dylan couldn't decide.

Shrugging, he laughed and scratched the back of his head. "Nothing, it's just...weird, you know? It's weird to hear you actually saying next to me, not over the messages or phone calls."

She nodded, looking away. "You're right. It feels weird to be able to touch you." Even before she ended her sentence, she was punching the boy beside her with her index fingers, faking a frown. "Like, I can't even believe you're real!"

They laughed together, he mostly because she was accidentally – or on purpose? – tickling him, and she because she was finding literally everything about him funny. At the end he caught her hands in his, stopping her fingers from poking every single part of his upper body. There was a short millisecond when he didn't even realize his hands were holding hers, it just happened. And for that millisecond, he didn't want to move his fingers away.

But then he did. And tried to ignore that, continuing to talk about dogs or whatever they were previously talking about, just like Ellie did. Neither of them wanted to know what that happened, although they didn't know why.

Maybe it was because it was their first time seeing each other, or talking without having phones pressed against their ears. Either way, they both pretended as if that had never happened. It was the right thing to do, at least in Dylan's opinion.

After they ran out of good synonyms for 'tasty', they got up and started walking around the park, commenting the passers. Frankly, Dylan thought Ellie was completely the same as in messages – if not even more talkative. She liked to talk, whether it being about the bird she'd just seen, or about how she lives with seven siblings. And Dylan – he just liked to listen to her.

"So, you're not talking a lot..." Ellie noted awkwardly as they walked pass an old lady with a big German Sheperd.

Dylan noticed the sideway look she gave the dog, and smiled. "Go pet him."

The blonde smiled brightly, before storming away and hugging the big dog, chatting with its owner. "Who's a big puppy? You, you baby? Nah, it's me, I'm the puppy. Or that guy over there?" she pointed a finger at Dylan, and winked at him. "Is he the puppy?" The dog – Frida, Dylan recalled – barked, and Ellie hugged her even closer. "Yes, that's right, he's the puppy. He's one big puppy and he's a baby wolf, but that's the same as puppy."

"Baby wolf?" Dylan questioned, before it dawned on him. "No, don't – I know." For a while, he had forgotten he was playing Liam on Teen Wolf, or that he was an actor. For a while, he was just an ordinary boy walking in the park with his friend – who liked dogs a lot.

Frida barked again, licking Ellie's face. "Hey, no, don't – okay that's enough!" Ellie gently pushed the dog's head away, hugging her again. "What do I do, huh, Frida? What should I and the puppy do, what d'you think? I think the puppy just needs a hug, look at him, looking at us with those sad eyes. Go hug him!" The dog whined, and Ellie chuckled. "Oh, why not? Or should I hug him? I don't want the puppy to be sad!"

As Friga barked for the millionth time – or even more, Dylan wasn't really sure – Ellie smiled widely. "Fine, fine! I'll hug him." She got up and walked to Dylan, still smiling. "I'll hug you now, you look like a sad puppy and I hate seeing sad puppies so that's why I hug them all and they're not sad anymore, do you need a hug?"

Dylan genuinely smiled at the blonde who was an inch or so shorter than him, faking puppy eyes. "Yes, I desperately need a hug."

"I'll hug you then, assbutt." Ellie smiled as she steped forward and wrapped her hands around his neck, finally hugging him. She felt Dylan's big hands taking hold of her waist shortly, before pulling themselves up and pressing her tiny body against Dylan.

It was the first time in her life someone had hugged Ellie so strong she almost made the term 'kick the air out of one's lungs' become reality. The force Dylan used to hug her was really, really big and she was as tiny as he was big.

But she liked it. She had gotten the chance to hug Dylan Sprayberry, didn't she? And she hugged her back, didn't he?

"This might sound weird," Dylan said as they pulled apart, "but I really wanted to hug you."

Soft blush crept its way onto Ellie's pale skin and she looked down before whispering, "Me too."

There was a silence between the two of them, walking through the park. They didn't know what to say, both of them lost in their thoughts. Though, neither of them knew they were actually thinking about each other, and weird feelings in pits of their stomachs.

"So, Dylan..." Ellie started, and opened her mouth to continue, before closing them abruptly and laughing. "Oh my goodness, I don't know what to say!"

Dylan joined her laugh, shaking his head at the girl. "You're so short."

"I'm five foot four, you asshole," she retorted and made a serious face.

"Still, you're short."

The blonde shot him a glare, shrugging. "The curse of being an Oswald. We're all short. I mean, my dad's six feet, but my mom's five foot six and I'm the second tallest of the girls, sharing my height with my stupid twin sister. Taylor and Liam are five foot eight, and the rest of us – the girls, I mean – are below five foot two. I'm telling you, there's no person taller than six feet in our family."

"Seriously?" Dylan looked at Ellie in wonder.

She nodded, smiling. "Yeah. But you get used to it."

"That's nice." Dylan didn't know what to say, hoping she'd know because frankly, he was too lost for his own good.

"Not really. Like, you can get good places in the crowd. It's really stupid..." Ellie continued to talk about her problems – or curses of being an Oswald, as she liked to call them. Dylan listened to her, and he didn't even realize how the time passed.

At least, not until Ellie looked at her watch and stopped talking, gasping. "Shit! It's nine already, I told mom I'd be back by eight, I'm so screwed!"

The fact he wasn't going to see her anymore today struck Dylan like a lightning, and suddenly he left really sad. "You can't ask for one more hour?" he pleaded, trying not to sound as sad as he felt.

Ellie shook her head, looking around. "I can't. There's no way she's gonna let me, although she knows I'm with you and no one's going to kidnap me." She tried to joke, but failed as she realized she wasn't going to see Dylan today after this.

For a moment, everything was perfect. It was just two of them, and the gap between them – the one they had so many fights about – had gone for good, and they were just two friends having a walk in the park, chatting. There was no actors and no fans, just Dylan and Ellie. And now, when she leaves, things are going to get back to normal, and everything will be the same. God knows if she would get the chance to see him again.

"I...should go." Her voice was quiet, and she didn't want to look into Dylan's eyes. Actually, what she wanted to do was to hug him and never let him go, because his hugs were the best – she was sure, although she had hugged him only once.

"I'll walk you to the hotel, I've still got to wait for Mason to pick me up," Dylan said awkwardly, taking his phone out and having a short conversation with the blonde guy. "He said he'd be here in ten minutes."

Ellie forced herself to smile, and not to be sad. She didn't want to be sad with Dylan, because this was literally a dream-come-true event. She didn't want to ruin it by being a pathetic fangirl, or whatever she actually was.

"Thanks," she said, regaining her previous happiness and relaxation.

"For what?" Dylan question, smiling at Ellie. He didn't want to show how sad he was because he wouldn't see her, while he was actually planning to see her tomorrow as well – he had to use the three days they had been given.

The Oswald girl shrugged, giggling. One thing Dylan had noticed about her, was that she really loved to laugh, and laughed a lot – even at the things that weren't funny. She could find joy in almost everything. "I don't know, I just felt like thanking you. Maybe because you made Eleanor Rose Oswald's day much brighter than it was supposed to be."

He laughed, before realizing what she had just told him. "You middle name's Rose?"

Ellie nodded, "Yeah. Why?"

"I don't know." He shrugged, looking away. "I just can't imagine you as a Rose."

"Good, because I was named after my mom's first cat that was named Rose."

Dylan burst out laughing, hardly able to control himself. Ellie was laughing as well, only she was laughing at him. The blonde knew how cute, adorable and hot the actor was, but seeing him in real life was something entirely different. He looked like an idiot when he was laughing, stumbling while walking, but she thought of him as a puppy. And she liked puppies, a lot. Maybe that was why she liked Dylan so much.

She didn't even notice she had been caught staring, but Dylan didn't want to mention anything – heck, if he had given her a dollar every time she had caught him staring, he'd be broke – and if she had gotten a dollar every time he was staring at her, without getting noticed, she'd probably be a millionare by now. She was just so easy to look at, and too hard to look away from.

Maybe that was one of the Oswald curses.

"You were named after a cat?" he repeated once he had stopped laughing, finally getting his breathing into normal.

"Yeah," Ellie replied with a giant smile, "but after a very important and loved cat. Rose was my mom's favourite, and my mom's a big cat lover. We actually have three cats at home – and only three because my dad didn't let her buy more. I'm telling you, she loved cats even more than I love dogs!"

"Honestly, I can't imagine that. I think your level of love for dogs is the highest level possible, one day you'll marry a dog," he teased with a smug smirk.

The blonde rolled her eyes and punched his chest, laughing. Maybe that's why I call you puppy. Her eyes widened at the thought and she shook her head, trying to forget about that. "If he's an animagus, I'll accept that."

It took Dylan a minute to realize what she had said, but he shook his head nevertheless. "Harry Potter," he said with a smile.

She spun on the place and raised her hand in the air, shouting, "Potterhead for life!" Then, having fun, she started yelling random spells and pretending she was fighting a Death Eater.

Noticing the looks people were giving the two of them – what Ellie didn't – Dylan tried to shush her, but he was forced to use force as he wrapped his hands around her from the back, stopping her from waving around with hands.

"Assbutt," she teased with a smile as he let her go, stucking a tongue out at him. "So, we're there." She gave the big building behind them a sad look, putting her pink hat back on her head.

Dylan ran his fingers through his hair, looking at Ellie. "So, I guess this is a goodbye..."

"Yeah," Ellie agreed, looking at the floor and playing with her fingers. "I had fun today."

"Me too." Dylan smiled at the blonde, wishing he could hug her right there and then. "Can I hug you? For good night, I mean," he spoke his mind rather awkwardly.

The smile appeared on Ellie's face as she nodded, "Sure you can, assbutt."

He leaned forward and hugged her softly – well, gentlier than the first time. He enjoyed hugging her, because he felt as if he were protecting her. "I'm protecting you from everything, from the Nogitsune."

Ellie chuckled, still in his bear hug. "Yeah, you're my Superman," she remembered the conversation they had had a while ago, through texts. "But I want a baby wolf."

"Then I'll be your baby wolf," Dylan said with a smile.

"My baby wolf?" Ellie asked in a childish voice.

"Just your baby wolf."

"And what am I?"

Dylan smiled at the idea and pulled the blonde even closer, not really wanting to let her go – ever. "You're my assbutt."

The blonde giggled, and they pulled apart. It was already time to go home, and Mason was about to appear every moment. She took her pink hand into her hands, looking at it with a smile. Without hesitation, she placed it onto Dylan's head with a huge smile on her face. "You know, I have to show people you're mine."

"But how am I supposed to get it back to you if we don't meet again?" Dylan asked with sadness in his voice.

Ellie's smile fell a little, but she shrugged. "I gave it to you so you could give it back to me some other time, being it tomorrow or for twenty years."

They both smiled widely, and Ellie realized it was now or never. "Look, I have to go." She turned on her heels and walked into the entrance, where she turned around and flashed the boy one last smile. "Good night, assbutt."

Dylan waved at her, smiling back. "Good night, assbutt."
