《His Angel》Chapter 16

I woke up in Enzo's warm embrace. I was getting used to this pattern. He was playing with my hair, twisting it in his fingers. I pecked him on the cheek and got up to brush my teeth. He gave me one from under the sink, then I quickly washed my face.
"So, did you tell Donny I am working for you now?"
"Mhmm," he hummed, wrapping his arms around me with a smirk on his face.
I looked at him in the mirror and raised an eyebrow. "Why the smirk?" I narrowed my eyes.
"Thinking about all the opportunities, now that I'll have you close. Like on my desk, in my car..." he trailed off with a dreamy tone.
I smacked his chest playfully and rolled my eyes at him. I leaned up and stole a kiss.
"We should talk about work. And about you being my submissive. There will be rules as I'm sure you already know this," his hand wrapped around my throat. Not tightly, but making sure he had my full attention. He kissed my shoulder, dragging his lips up to the nape of my neck. I let out a small sigh.
"Know now, do not roll your eyes at me in the playroom. Don't give me attitude when we're in the playroom. Always address me properly in the playroom. And if you mess up at work when I give you tasks, I'll punish you for that too," he chuckled, but there was no humor, only lust. His words dripped with sex and I squirmed a bit in his hold. His front was pressed against my back. I cast my eyes down, so I wasn't looking him in the eye. He pulled my chin up in his hand firmly.
"Understand, Principessa?"
My core was heating up from his warning. Punishment was so good, even if it was supposed to be bad.
I rubbed my ass against him, wanting friction.
"Yes, I understand," I breathed out.
He kissed my temple, whispered some sweet nothing in my ear, then his fingers traveled to the apex of my thighs.

"I'll never get enough of you," he declared.

Enzo said I didn't have to start working till the end of the week. Which was good, because it gave me some time to myself. He was tiring me out with all the sex. It felt like he was the younger one, not me.
I called Samson while I waited for Enzo to get dressed. Just to check in and see how they were doing. Plus I missed him. I told him about me working for Enzo now and he didn't have much to say. He waited till I fessed up about knowing the truth to say anything. He apologized a million times for keeping me in the dark, but I wasn't upset with him. I knew he was just trying to protect me as much as he could.
I had classes for the day so Enzo dropped me at my dorm. He drove me himself in his fancy-ass race car. I loved it. He told me he'd let me drive it when he saw me tomorrow.
I walked into the dorm building after I insisted he didn't walk me to my door because everyone would stare. But, he made me promise to call him when I got into my room. There was a bunch of girls waiting for the elevators so I decided to walk up the stairs instead. I trudged up the stairs slowly. The staircase was desolate and overall creepy, so I started taking the stairs two at a time. I heard a big bang and jumped in my skin. I exhaled slowly, realizing it was just the exits to the staircase, they were always loud when you opened and closed them.
I looked down the gap between the staircases to see if anyone was there and I was nothing.
But, I heard heavy footsteps getting closer to me. They sounded like they belonged to a huge guy, not one of the girls in the dorms. I quickly decided to trust the anxious feeling in my gut. I bolted up the stairs as fast as I could. Taking them almost three at a time, tripping over myself. My stomach felt like it was doing literal flips.

The hallway was empty when I pushed out of the exit to my floor. I started hurrying to my room when I saw a dark movement in my peripheral vision and quickly whipped my head. I saw a huge guy dressed in dark clothes with a ski mask on.
Seriously, so cliche.
But, didn't stop to introduce myself. I sprinted to my room making a sharp left around the corner and slipped inside, swiftly locking the door. My chest was heaving. I heard the footfalls from the hallway echo past my door. Thank goodness he didn't see where I went.
I held my breath, fearful he might walk past my door and hear me.
I texted Enzo, my hands shaking uncontrollably with adrenaline.
Lilly: SOS
Lilly: Come up please I'm scared
Enzo: I'm coming right now, call me
Lilly: I can't make noise. Hiding.
Enzo: don't move
Lilly: There is a man that chased me. I don't know who. I don't know where he is now. Be careful.
I stood against the door shivering from the adrenaline pumping through me. A knock sounded at the door and screamed before I realized it. The sound just came out on autopilot.
"LILLY, IT'S ME" Enzo yelled, with an anxious voice. I ripped the door open and yanked him inside so fast he stumbled a little. I shoved the door shut behind him with a bang. He flicked the lock and kept his body pressed against it, like a human shield. Then, he grabbed me and inspected me quickly.
I launched myself into his chest and he picked me up at the waist, holding me tight. I breathed in his soothing scent.
"I was so scared, Enzo," I mumble into his broad shoulder.
He looked disheveled when I opened the door, he must have been equally anxious.
"Shhh. I got you, baby, always," he hushed into my ear.
"Please, don't leave. I can't sleep here by myself," I admitted even though it was hard to sound so vulnerable. I didn't want to sound so helpless and afraid. But, I was.
"You will stay with me. I have so many extra rooms in case you don't want to sleep in my bed. I know this is moving fast. You can have as much distance as you want, but I want to keep you safe in my apartment where I can monitor any threats. I'll be able to keep you safe there, especially with my brothers constantly there too. More protection for you. Okay?"
I nodded eagerly. I never would feel safe in this dorm again. That was too close. If I hadn't trusted my gut a few seconds earlier, I could be dead or god knows what. I didn't even know who that man was. Or why he was chasing me.
"Good," he huffed like he was relieved he didn't have to argue with me on this.
I didn't lift my head from his shoulder once. His hands wrapped around me securely, making me feel safe.
"Everything will be brought to the penthouse by the end of the night. Is there anything here you want to bring with you right now?"
I shook my head 'no' and he started walking out of the room. I kept my face down, not caring what anyone saw if there were people in the hallway.
"I have two guys keeping the building on lockdown. They will check each room and make sure the girls are okay, that he isn't hiding anywhere."
"Okay," I murmured.
I want to go back to Enzo's fortress. I felt safe there. But, I couldn't stay there forever. Once the threat was gone, I'd get my own apartment.
This would only be temporary. I wouldn't overstay my welcome.
