The next morning I wake up next to Juliet on the couch. I felt cold even though I was under the fluffy blanket, I pick my onesie up from the floor and slip in to it.
I hear a knock on the door. I look to Juliet and she was still asleep on the couch. I walk over to the door unlocking it and opening the door.
"Oh hello, who must you be?" A tall tan black haired woman looks down at me.
"I'm Spencer, if your looking for Juliet shes still asleep. You can call back later tho."
"Oh no worries I'll wait for her to wake." She pushes past me and goes over to the curtains and opens them.
"Who even are you?" I ask her closing the door.
"Grace, not that it matters to you. What are you wearing?" She looks me up and down and scoffs.
"A onesie?" I say and jump up on the counter and sit down.
"Rise and shine Juliet." The woman walks over and shakes Juliet to wake her up and I shake my head annoyed.
"Mmm." Juliet groans in her sleep and I laugh.
"Don't mmm me get up." She pulls the blanket off Juliet and Juliet stretches her arms and rubs her eyes.
"Gracie?" Juliet sits up with a shocked look on her face.
"Good morning, look at the state of this place pizza boxes and everything you need to get up and clean yourself and this house up." She waves her finger around and i roll my eyes.
"What are you doing here?" Juliet stands up off the couch and starts picking up the rubbish on the coffee table.
"We'll I came here to ask if you wanted to go out for lunch but you just woke up and that...thing who I don't know answered the door."
"This thing is Spencer." I huff and jump off the counter and help Juliet clean up.
"Oh, love the matching pyjamas. Your doing a lot for your little hook ups these days. Giving them pyjamas and getting them pizza I see." The woman smirks and walks over to the kitchen table and sits down crossing one leg over the other.

"She's not a hook up. She's just my friend she's staying here for a while."
Right, I'm apparently her friend now. Lovely.
I make eye contact with Juliet and she mouths a sorry and fixes the couch back to normal.
"I'm going to get changed wait here." Juliet says and walks in to her room closing the door.
"How do you know Juliet?" She stands up going over to the fridge and takes out a packet of strawberries and walks back over to the kitchen table.
"Uh....We met in the park and we talked for a while then we just started hanging out." I said, well I couldn't tell her the truth.
"How do you know her?" I asked back.
"College, we dated for a while but we broke up. We hooked up numerous times since then tho so..." she eats some strawberries and I take a breath and start playing with my hands awkwardly.
Juliet walks out of her room, she was wearing tight black jeans and a tucked in black long sleeved top.
I go in to Juliet's room and change into grey sweatpants with a darker grey hoodie and I put on my converse.
I open her door and see Grace sitting closely to Juliet and Juliet laughing.
I cough and Juliet moves away from Grace.
"I'm going to go out for a bit, I'll be back later." I say to her and she nods not even saying goodbye.
I walk out the door, I had to call an Uber.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I get a Uber to my house, I thank the driver and get out. I walk up the driveway and open the door.
I close the door behind me and walk to the kitchen. I look in to see my mom and Sam laughing. My mom looked decent, by decent I mean not high or drunk off her mind. I smiled seeing the two laughing together for the first time in years.
"Hi." I said quietly and my mom looked over.
"Spencer. Honey I need to apologise, I know an apology won't fix how I treated you but I'm really trying to get clean. Samantha even came back to help me. I'm really Spencer for the way I treated you." She stands up and walks over to me.
"It's okay mom. I know the pain after dad died, he was your best friend and I could see how broken you were when he died and I know you'll never be the same again and it's okay. I'm sorry for bailing and not putting in more effort." She smiles and wraps her arms around me. My heart warmed, the feeling of being in my moms arms again. She pulls back and smiles and it made me so happy to see a smile on her face again after seeing her in pain for so long.
"Can I get a hug pip?" Sam smiles and asks and I laugh and open my arms. She runs over and squeezes her arms around me.
"I missed you Sammy." I whispered.
"I missed you too." She unwraps her arms from around me and as her arm leaves from around me I see a familiar light purple beaded bracelet on her hand. No way.
I lifted her arm and pushed the sleeve on her jumper up.
"You still have it?" I laugh.
"Of course, you didn't think I'd get rid of it, did you?" She messes up my hair and I smile and she does too.
"I have some lasagna in the oven, it should be done now if you'll stay Spencer." My mom says and I nod.
We all walk over to the kitchen table but mom walks over to the oven getting the lasagna, I text Juliet to tell her I'm staying at home for dinner. She puts it on three plates and brings over the plates with utensils.
We all start eating and I felt nice having a family meal, I know it isn't a proper family meal since dad isn't here but I'm going to have to get used to the fact he's never going to have a family dinner with us again. This is my family now, dad will always be there watching over us.
"Where are you staying Spencer? I was talking to Gabriel and Camila's parents and they said your not staying at their houses." My moms asks and my heart starts beating faster.
"Um....I'm actually staying with my girlfriend." I say and my mom smiles.
"When can we meet her?" Sam asks.
"I'm not sure." By I'm not sure I mean I hope they will never bring it up again so I don't have to tell them I'm dating my teacher.
"We'll tell us about her spence. Don't leave us in the dark." Mom laughs.
"Well. She has a great sense of humour, basically the same as mine so she gets my weird jokes. She is polite to everyone unless she feels a weird energy off them, she picks up peoples energy fast it's concerning. She can read people better then me. She is the most beautiful girl I've ever seen I mean it's hard to believe she really exists, she has the most beautiful smile- oh god I'm sorry. She's really nice." I laugh and my mom and sister nod.
"Don't apologise we want to hear about her. You seem really in love spence." My mom smiles and I scratch the back of my neck awkwardly.
I pick up my phone to see if I had any messages from Juliet. Nothing, she's probably not on her phone.
"Mom. Are you still with Jim?" I asked her and she shakes her head.
"No honey I ended things with him."
"Would I be able to come home then?" I asked her and she smiles widely.
"Yes of course." I stand up and smile.
"Well I better go get my stuff at my girlfriends house." My mom stands up taking our plates.
"Do you need to use the car?" My mom asks.
"Yes actually could I?" She hands me the keys and I smile.
"I'll see you both in a bit." I say as I open the front door.
