《Alpha (under construction - rewrite)》Chapter Two

It wasn't the question that truly bothered me, no it was the meaning behind. How could he have known I loved hot chocolate? I admit that I had been watching him but how could he have known what I liked, unless...he had been watching me too.
I stared at him my eyebrows drawn downwards and lips pursed. I saw a slight red tint to his cheeks and that had made my own cheeks turn a rather unflattering shade of red.
I looked at him and realised the redness in his cheeks brought to light a softer side that I had not seen before. He was truly a handsome man and way out of my league, yet a small part of me dared to hope that he actually liked me.
He began to walk outside and I simply stood their unsure if I was to follow him. He looked back at me, his brows furrowed, and then motioned with his head that I was to follow him. I rushed after him wondering how many times I was going to look a fool in front of him.
He stopped in front of my truck that now lay alone and looked at me. "Did Tiago tell you what was wrong?" His astoundingly deep voice had me speechless once again and I didn't respond.
At least now I knew the second mechanic's name.
He tilted his head to the side staring at me, I shivered from the intense analysis. He then turned to my car opening the bonnet and didn't say a word. He looked at me and smiled, a damn sexy smile.
"It'll be ready in a week." Even his sexy ass voice couldn't stop the disappointment that claimed my face.
"What's wrong?" his concern warmed my heart and I felt bad for being so ungrateful.

"Oh, um, nothing. So how much will it cost?" I asked nervously, I hadn't applied for a job yet and money was not something I could spare.
"Nothing." His words, or word, had me speechless. The amount of time it had taken Tiago to explain in nonsensical terms the problems with my truck had me assuming that it would cost a lot, but there was no way that the work my truck needed would cost nothing.
When I opened mouth to protest he placed one of his fingers upon my lips and shook his head.
"It's my gift to you, I would be thoroughly offended if you declined" My head fell to the left slightly and I could have sworn I was drooling but I didn't care this man was a hero, a damn sexy hero.
He smiled and so did I, it was as that moment he realised that his finger was upon my lip and he pulled it back as if her had been burned and turned his head slightly to, what I guessed, disguise his burning cheeks that were perfectly visible making me smile.
He then changed the subject telling me about how he would normally offer a temporary replacement but none were available, "I will drive you to where you need to be."
It seemed as if in the short time I had talked to this guy he had developed a nasty habit of making me speechless. Of course after constantly being told I was anti-social, I was guessing that was not a difficult thing.
"No, no I can't let you do that, I'll walk" his generosity was unimaginable and I felt terrible if I was to ask or take anymore that he offered.
"Please don't decline or I'll never sleep not knowing if you are okay or not, Tiago mentioned you live very far."

I didn't recall Tiago ever mentioning where I lived or such but I dismissed the thought. I began to shake my head 'no' but when I looked into his eyes I found myself nodding to say 'yes' causing a glorious smile to transform his face.
I found myself smiling and my heart fluttered slightly at the knowledge that I had pleased him.
I don't know how long we stared at each other, smiling, but a loud grunt shook me out of my love dazed stupor and I began fiddling with my clothes in an attempt to look....busy?
Tiago was smiling and I found that he was quite handsome, in my eyes he couldn't compare to Ajax but he could definitely hold his own.
"If you want I could take you home, but would you mind waiting a while, I've got to do something." I nodded again and told him I would wait in the café across the road. He smirked at this and I blushed furiously and walked away quickly.
I sat with a hot chocolate warming my hands and stared outside of the window staring at the mechanic who had captured my thoughts. But when he looked at me, I stared back. For some reason it wasn't awkward considering we had just met, I knew nothing about him aside from his name yet it felt as if I had been around him for years.
My thoughts shocked me as I had never had notions such as these before about any man. I felt like a cliché but I couldn't deny what I was feeling as we continued to stare at each other but my phone ringing broke the spell and I reached into my pocked to answer it.
Lovella.
"Hey, how are you?" Lovella was always the sweet, caring, elegant one whilst I was the clumsy, 'adorable' one that couldn't lie to save get life, however both of us were extremely unlucky in the love department.
"I was wondering if I could come down in a week instead of three, would that be okay?" Her voice was quiet and sombre making me wonder if something had happened and when I was about to ask she bid her goodbyes and cut the call.
Just as I texted her asking if everything was okay, Ajax walked into the café asking if I was ready to go. I nodded taking my disposable cup of hot chocolate with me. Even with this beautiful man in front of me, my thought were still on my cousin who I was sure there was something wrong with.

"I'm sorry, sir," I quickly spoke, fearing what his punishment would be like, but also more interested than I should have been. He must have noticed because he smirked, and bit the inside of my thigh hard. There would surely be bruises tomorrow. "Aghh," I cried out. "Shhhh," he hushed me. My breathing was ragged.
