《The Alphas Secret Mate》Chapter Fifty Nine:

Hadley's POV
I made my way through the garden, my feet near silent as I navigated the maze. In and out without anyone noticing. Although I wouldn't have much time till one of them went looking for Cassia... or smelt the metallic blood. I quickly readjusted my dress trying to steady my shaking hands. I could do this. No one else would get hurt.
I could hear the command in her edged voice before even seeing her face. Her voice was so amplified it filled the whole house. Demanding attention. There was no denying she loved the attention and the power she held over the room.
My time captured by Nolan had allowed me an extensive knowledge of the layout of the house. It was easy to take a quick turn down the long hallway that led to a back staircase. A staircase that connected to another hallway, and another bedroom door. A maze to anyone who hadn't been here before. But I knew that the door it would take me to would put me directly behind Jade at the top of the balcony of the stairs. I would have mere seconds before someone noticed me.
I reached my hands up my dress to grab the blade. I willed my intentions into it. For Darren, for Tate, for the pack, and the people I had come to so dearly love I could do this. I was the Luna of Atlas Moon. I repeated those words over and over in my head. Until my hands were steady.
Too soon I was at the door. Somewhere below West was in position should I fail. Devin, not too far behind. I took a moment to listen to Jade.
"For far too long we have lived side by side. To long have witches been cast aside as the lesser species. Tonight that all changes. Fenris Moon will be the first hybrid pack in the northern continent. I invite you all to... merge into this revolution. A revolution that will bring a new era of undeniable power and strength. I promise to lead as all into a brighter tomorrow," Jade said. I could practically feel the glowing sinister smile that was edged with threat in her words.
"You expect us to merge with you?!" a voice asked that I did not recognize. From the tone though there was no denying he was an alpha.

"I have no expectations. It is your choice but a choice I would urge you to consider before acting," Jade's words were clipped. The room was silent. The Alpha, not daring to say another word.
Jade continued talking. It had to be now. She was angry. Maybe slightly distracted. Every moment I stood here waiting was a gamble at her sensing me. I breathed again.
I am the Luna of Atlas Pack.
I kicked down the door. The silver dagger in my hand. My arm was raised ready to plunge into Jade's back. I was mere feet away from her. The tip of the blade now nearly grazing her skin.
Jade whipped her body around to face me and with the swipe of her hand I was thrown backwards into the wall.
"Stupid girl have you not learned anything!" Jade screamed.
I gasped for air. My body begging me to sink into the floor.I Ignored the feeling and rose to my feet before charging at Jade.
One of Jade's rogues stood between me and the witch. He was strong but I was stronger. I grabbed his elbow, twisting it as hard as I could to make it touch his spine. He howled in pain as I used the force to shove him to the ground before snapping his neck. I stepped on his body as I moved towards Jade. Her smile curling on her lips, her stance ready.
I threw a punch the dagger clutched in my other hand. Jade grabbed my fist with her fast reflexes. Crushing the bones in my hands.
I screamed as the fiery pain spread through me. Jade smiled a small laugh leaving her lips.
I hated that smile.
I butted my head as hard as I could into it. The smile of her quickly turned to rage. The blood pooling out of her mouth. It was my turn to laugh. Jade slammed me to the floor with invisible power. Something sharp pierced through me.
I cringed as the pain grew. Jade kneeled on top of me, her knee digging into my gut. She spat the blood on my face.
"I am going to kill you. But unlike Darren I'm going to take my time ripping you apart piece by piece. You'll be begging me for death! Halfbreed!"
I let a low laugh rumble through me. Only infuriating Jade more. I felt the blood on my face, on my hand. Not totally sure where it was all coming from. Everything hurt.

I leaned my head up so that my face was inches for Jade's.
"Goodbye Jade," I whispered. Jade's eyes searched mine with confusion. I wasted no time hooking my leg around her and putting all the weight I could. Every movement made my body scream with pain.
I flipped us so that I was on top of Jade now. I raised my hand shoving the dagger into her with as much force as I could. The world around me faded. It was only Jade and I. All I could hear was her scream that filled the air. I pushed down harder on the dagger. I could feel the magic that left her as I pushed harder and harder. Till there was not even a drop left.
I pulled the dagger out. Falling off of Jade onto my back on the floor next to her. Laying in a pool of our blood. I turned my head to look down the side of the balcony. The Alpha's and the Beta's of the other packs were ripping into Fenris Moon and the rogues who had sided with Jade. I turned my head back focusing on the gold foiled ceiling. The black in my vision coming in and out. I turned to look at Jade. Her breathing coming in and out slowly. She was unconscious, losing more and more blood.
I ran my hands down to the source of my pain. There was a large gash that was healing too slowly. Jade had stabbed me with her power. I recognized the foggy feeling of her magic.
"Oh Goddess. Hadley!" West leaned over me pulling my body into his lap. "Hadley! Stay awake! Don't close your eyes. Everything is ok now. We are all ok now".
I tried to focus on his words on his crystal eyes. But everything was coming in and out. I fought against the pull of the darkness. I didn't know if the cut would kill me but I wasn't ready to find out. To fall asleep without ever waking up again.
The scent hit me clearing my vision somewhat. I turned my head as quickly as I could manage. A smile cracking on my bloody face. Tate ran in. His eyes were wild as they met mine. He looked absolutely furious and I had never loved him more than in that moment.
He ran to me as fast as he could. Ending rogues in a matter of seconds as he made his way up the stairs to me. I never took my eyes off of him.
He knelt down next to us. West handed my body to him as gently as he could. I gasped as I felt the pain shoot through me. Wrapped in Tate's arms though I felt a little better.
"Hadley," the words were a mere whisper as Tate scanned me. Holding me close. He looked worried.
"Hi," I choked the words out and managed a smile.
"Tate," West said.
"West not now," Tate snapped his eyes, never leaving mine as though he was holding onto whatever he could.
"Tate, she's alive" West said.
"What?!" Tate asked. His eyes finally snapping to Jade's slow breathing body.
"You didn't kill her?" Tate asked, searching my face. I shook my head.
"I stabbed her in the shoulder," I said quietly.
"Why?" Tate asked, stroking my face. I savoured the warmth of his hands.
"Death was too easy," I said.
"Tate, we need to get her help. She doesn't look too good. That cut isn't healing and it's deep," West said.
"I know," Tate said.
"Well what are you going to do!" West shouted. I knew he was afraid. I didn't have to see it. I knew it was bad just from the feeling of it.
"Relax I got this. It's a magical wound so you need a little magic," Morgan said shoving past West.
Morgan inspected the cut with her hands gentle on my skin. "This is going to hurt," she said to no one in particular as she examined it more.
Morgan placed both her palms on top of the gash pushing down. I screamed as her hands glowed. Tate held onto me tighter. The pain lessened though as Morgan pulled her hands away.
My vision slowly began to clear.
"It's going to take awhile to heal but it won't be fatal," Morgan said, giving me a warm smile.
"Take me home," I said to Tate before I finally allowed myself to drift into the darkness.
