《The Alphas Secret Mate》Chapter Forty Eight:

Hadley's POV
It had been almost a full week since Jade had killed Nolan and there was no news of any kind from Fenris Moon Pack. The line had been completely silent. Not even a rogue the pack had been questioned earlier in the week seemed to know anything. Jade was cunning whatever she was doing would be intricate. Practically full proof.
I gazed at myself in the mirror. Jillian and Devin had dragged me to the shops a few days ago and put me in about a hundred different dresses before we all settled on this one. Devin explained the Atlas pack's version of today as a werewolf version of a wedding and swearing in ceremony.
My dress could hardly be compared to a wedding dress but it was pure perfection in my eyes. The gown had long sleeves with a plunging v-neck. It was made of a gauzy sheer dark blue material with iridescent silver shimmer. It looked like the night sky had been turned into fabric and formed into the dress. The top was like a second skin that cinched at the waist before flowing to the floor in cascading waves. I had kept my hair straight pulling part of it up.
Devin knocked on the door before coming into the room fully taking in the dress.
"It is even more stunning than I remember. It will look even better with the full moon reflecting off of it," Devin said clutching onto the wooden box in her hands.
"You think Tate will like it?" I asked shyly.
"He's not going to be able to form the words," she laughed. "This is for you. Tate wanted me to bring it to you," she opened up the box to reveal a stunning headband. It was crafted with small diamonds that were in the shape of intricate stars.
"Wow," I mumbled fully entranced as my hands traced the shapes of the stars.
"It's an Atlas pack heirloom. Kind of like our crown of sorts. The pack Luna always wears it at more formal events. It was Tate's mom's he has been holding onto it for years," Devin explained.
I leaned down as Devin placed the headband on my head. It worked perfectly with the hairstyle I had chosen. I looked even more like a star with it on. The beauty of it took my breath away. It felt heavy like it was made of rich materials. But it felt right on my head. Like it belonged. For the first time I truly felt like the Luna of the Atlas Pack. Like I fully belonged. Devin gave my hand an encouraging squeeze.

"I don't know what I did to deserve all of this," I said, still unable to stop staring at myself in the mirror. The woman before me was so different from the college girl I had been only a few months ago.
"You are strong, practically fearless, I am lucky and honored to serve as a pack member," Devin said sincerely. I pulled her in giving her a tight hug.
"Thank you," I muttered into her curly long blonde hair.
"Are you ready to do this?" She asked, giving me a playful smile.
"Definitely".
Devin guided me outside to the small gazebo that had been set up in the clearing of the woods. The sky was bright and the full moon illuminated the world before us. The ceremony as promised was completely different from what Nolan had put me through. It was small. Only the inner circle of the pack was gathered along with Mason, who I assumed was stepping out of his pack doctor duties to hold the ceremony. I had barely seen him since everything that happened with the young boy. Mason gave me a kind smile.
Tate was standing in the gazebo in a navy tux that was so dark it was almost black. His wavy hair had been tousled into a more tame version of his normal style. His face was in a grin that made my heart flutter. Devin took her spot outside the gazebo next to Scott who gave me a small smile and nod; before pulling Devin in closer, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
I made my way next to Tate before Mason. I was so close to Tate I could practically feel the electricity that flowed through the space between us.
"You look stunning," Tate whispered in my ear pecking me on the cheek.
"You don't look half bad yourself," I smiled bright.
Mason waited patiently for our exchange to end before beginning the ceremony. He was reading from a large red leather book. I had been so distracted by the beauty of the place and Tate that I was only now noticing the large silver bowl on the table in front of Mason and us.
It reminded me so much of the dagger I had held back at Nolan's. The silver was carved with intricate markings. I could tell just by looking at it that if I were to pick it up it would carry the same weight as the knife.

Mason ran through the passages in the large red leather bound book. We vowed to honor each other above all else. To honor our pack. This family. This land. After making the promises to each other and our people. Tate extracted one of his claws. Slowly slicing his palm before clenching it in a fist and holding over the silver bowl. He looked at me and I repeated the process. I was so content at that moment. Next to him. Surrounded by the people I loved. I didn't mind the sting as I sliced my palm. The blood pooled from my hand and dripped on top of Tate's in the sturdy silver bowl.
Mason took out a match and lit it. Before dropping the match into the bowl. Our blood ignited in the bowl sparking a silver flame. Tate smiled as my breath hitched at the site. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before. The smoke glistened with that same iridescent silver veil and I tracked it with my eyes as it made its way to the sky.
Beautiful. It was truly breathtaking. Tate grabbed my hand, turning my body to face our friends who looked just as joyful as I must have felt.
"The Alpha and Luna of the Atlas Pack!" Mason announced.
The silver smoke that had come from the flame wrapped itself around mine and Tate's hands before absorbing into our skin. I felt it then in that moment. I felt the full connection to the whole pack. My bond with Tate had been furthered. Something I had not even realized was possible.
"Woooo!" Jillian cheered first. Everyone else followed suit. Tate took me then dipping me into his arms before placing a long and lingering kiss on my mouth.
"To satisfy your human side of things," Tate winked. Before pulling away slowly and bringing me back to my feet.
Everyone gathered around us congratulating us.
"Let's go party!" Jillian shouted. I tilted my head and laughed in pure euphoria. I had never felt so happy. I was so grateful for it all.
"And just like that the wild child is back," Devin jokingly scolded.
"I know you missed me!" Jillian said, blowing a kiss at Devin.
"Alpha. Luna. What do you say?" West asked.
Tate looked at me to answer. "Let's go party!" I shouted. Fun we all deserved a night of fun after everything that had happened. That was yet to come. We could forget it all for this one night.
We made our way back to the pack house which in the short time of the ceremony had been completely transformed and packed with the pack members. Upon seeing Tate and I they all cheered.
"Darren!" I shouted after spotting his brown haired head in the mix of the crowd. He gave me one of his rare smiles before pulling me into a hug that lifted my feet from the ground.
"Congratulations Luna Hadley," He said, lowering me to the ground.
"I'm so glad you're here," I said. I couldn't stop smiling.
"You may be Luna but I still want you to come visit Blood Bane," he said.
"Soon I promise Darren. Are you sticking around for a few days.. We should talk," I said, the smile starting to leave me face as I thought of Jade. I cared about Darren and Blood Bane. The thought of anything happening to them.
"I'll stick around tomorrow. Let's just enjoy tonight. Plus there is someone I want you to meet," he motioned to the stunning woman next to him.
She had jet black straight hair that went past her ribs. Her eyes were a golden brown. Her skin was a perfect caramel colored that was practically luminescent.
"Oh my gosh! You must be Blair. It is so nice to finally meet you. Nice job Darren she is gorgeous," I said pulling her into a hug that she returned without hesitation.
"I'm so glad Darren brought me. I've been dying to meet the infamous lost sister," Blair giggled. She was so sweet and bubbly. It was a nice fit to Darren's more stoic personality. I liked that she would be able to bring out a lighter side of him.
Blair and I had been talking for easily over an hour. The more I got to know her the more I adored her. I glanced over to West, Scott, Darren, and Tate who were having the time of their lives playing cards and drinking.
"I heard we were celebrating. I brought you a present. Congratulations Luna".
"Cassia".
