《All I Wanted {Book 1}》Chapter 6: Protagonist

Megan's POV
Why? In all the good books. The girl always fawns over the guy? She's the one who wants him. When he leaves, she's the one who crys. When she's in trouble he's the one she cries for. When something bad happens every feels sorry for the guy. I want to be the protagonist. I want someone to feel sorry for me.
I was sitting in class staring out of the window. It was a slightly damp day. It was raining but not that hard. I looked out in the distance. Thinking about how screwed my life is.
Who should I tell? Who would care? Everyone. They'd all care. In a none caring way. They'd treat me like a freak. Nick would leave me. And God knows I don't want that to happen. I don't want to go to the doctor because I already know. I don't need them to validate what I already know. What I don't want to know.
As the bell rung I gathered my stuff and headed to my locker it was the last day of school so everyone was practically running through the hallway.
I put a big smile on my face to hide everything. People expected me to be this perfect blonde. The flirt, the cheerleader, the one that every guy wanted to date and every girl wanted to be. Hell... That's what I wanted. But now I just feel like my life is falling apart.
I opened my locker and gave it a last goodbye. When Cassie came up to me.
"So you pyched about summer vacation?" No.
"Yeah! Totally! You?"
"Um... Duh! Aren't we all? I mean we have two monthes to find ourselves and lose ourselves! Who wouldn't look forward to that?" Me.
"Cass. You totally just got that out of the sunday paper that I know you read." She looked at me with a blank expression and answered nonchalantly.

"So."
I gave her a look. And she gave me a little smirk.
"Look it's the truth and you know it."
Before I could even answer her, Abigail Jenkins and Alison Smith walked past. Abigail pretended not to notice me staring and Alison did her usual glare. I seriously dislike those girls!
I've never said two words to that Alison one so I have no idea. WHAT SO EVER why she doesn't like me! But hey! It's whatever.
Though I have always wandered why Abigail doesn't like me.
~*~
I was bouncing up and down on my bed staring at my nightstand that held my tiny LG slide phone.
I havn't talked to Nick In four days! I mean who goes that long without talking to their own boyfriend? I tried to talk to him at school but whenever he saw me he pretended not to and walked away. If I was crazy I think he was avoiding me.
I sure wasn't gonna tell anyone ESPECIALLY not Cassie. She had this model relationship with Greg and I was not gonna fill her in on mine. I mean I know she's my friend and all but some things I tend to keep to myself.
Just then my cell went off.
'I'm just a holy fool, baby its so cruel-'
I snatched the phone off the dresser not caring if I sounded desperate or not.
"Hello? Nick?"
"Whoa calm down love monkey it's only me." Great.
"Oh. H-hey."
"Well I was wandering how would you AND Nick like to go with me and Greg to Eros this Saturday?"
"Uh... Sure why not I mean it's not like I have anything planned."
"Okay cool! Just tell Nick okay."
"Wait you didn't tell him?"
"Of course not why would I he's your boyfriend. Ask him yourself."

"W-why can't you or Greg ask him?"
"Um... Like I said before... Your. Boyfriend."
"Okay I will."
"So talk to you later?"
"Yep. Bye."
"Later."
I hung up the phone and sat it back down. Just great! Could my life get anyworse? I cannot believe this is happening! Not only am I losing interest in everything but my own boyfriend is losing interest in me. There is not a more worst feeling in the world. Even if I do feel out of place now.
I layed down on my bed and murmurred to my self.
"Oh boy."
______________________________________________________________________________
"HELLOOOOO!!!" SO! What I really wanted to do was show the other side of Megan because everyone in the book thinks she's a meany but she's not.
So what do you think her BIG secret is? Anyone wanna take a guess?

A Sinner's Eden
The Earth of the future is united under a single government, but not all things are well. The shape of the playing field may be changed, but the powerful still rule the weak. And those who do not conform with the rest of society are exiled to another world. A world that not even the technology of the future managed to tame.It should have been humanity's New World but ended up as nothing more than a penal colony. A place where the exiled are sent to die. Motivated by revenge, Magnus sets out on a quest to bring his own justice to his enemies. For that purpose, he is willing to go further than most others. But then he learns that if he truly wishes to change things, he can only find his answers beyond the gate. Having lived most of her life as an exile, Astra is a woman of few interests aside from survival and climbing the ranks of her clan.To achieve those goals, she certainly won't be squeamish when a chance literally falls into her lap, or will she? ——————————————————————————————— I am trying to go with a survival/medieval setting in this one. People from a technologically advanced society are thrown into a world where they can't maintain their tech. They are forced to rely on medieval technology where they have to make do with the limited resources they have and what little of their old technology is still working. Their gene manipulation allows them to have something akin to superpowers, but that doesn't help much against the monsters of their new world. Not sure yet whether sufficiently advanced technology will be discovered later on to count as magic. ——————————————————————————————— Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently, I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur)

The London Phantom: A Superhero Webnovel
London is an old city. It has survived floods, fires, plagues and the man-made smog of industry. It has stood firm against the armies of Vikings, Saxons, Normans and the aerial might of the Luftwaffe. It has borne witness to dynsatic feuds, civil wars, military occupation and the sin of regicide. Through all these disasters the city has survived not through force of arms, though its walls were once the envy of the world, but through adapting to the times. Enemies become dependant on the city, and the wealth of the world that flows through it, and so become new allies. If the rulers change, then the city welcomes them with open arms, and open lines of credit. In this way the city seeks to preserve its ancient rights and position of power. Superheroes are a new phenomenon. The first superpowered man walked out of the Nevada desert in 1950, and the world was forever changed. Across the planet, men and women with exceptional abilities made themselves known. At first, they were little more than another source of fear in the era of Mutually Assured Destruction, but over time attitudes changed and the concept of the Superhero was created in the city of Los Angeles. From there the phenomenon spread across the globe; superheroes went from being feared arms of the state to a symbol of hope in these maddening times. Times have changed. Sixty years from the emergence of the first superhero, the City of London stands on a precipice. Two years have passed since the madman Fawkes nearly brought down the United Kingdom and the remnants of the Bow Street Runners, London's premier superhero team, are struggling to keep order in a city that seems on the brink of collapse. London stands on a knife's edge, with criminal organisations that once stuck to the shadows becoming more bold, and ancient powers from myth and legend making themselves known. Alexander Laszewski has recently 'awakened' and has become entirely unremakable, effectively making himself invisible to the world. He must use his newfound power to navigate a city on the edge of collapse. If only he could figure out how to turn it off.
