The air in Taehyung's lungs was running out and he felt suffocated, gasping for oxygen that wasn't there, only water getting in his mouth. Yet he didn't want to say anything, wanted it to end since he would rather die than being with Jungkook like this. The man, no the monster has still pressed him close to his chest while Taehyung has completely stopped fighting.
He was going to die anyways so why not pretend the arms not being from someone he loved. But unfortunately for him, Jungkook noticed the change in him and also noticed the way Taehyung tried gasping for air, grip around Jungkook's veiny arms he has been gripping, loosening.
"Baby! Why didn't you say anything?!", Jungkook immediately panicked, touching Taehyung's face gently before he growled out a command. The raven was practically floating in his grip by now, head feeling incredibly light while Jungkook was holding him like the most fragile glass doll.
"No no, Baby you're not dying on me, I won't let you", Jungkook breathed out threateningly while Taehyung's head fell forward, mouth opening and shutting. 'Let me die. Dying is peaceful', Taehyung just thought tiredly, hands slipping from Jungkook's arms and he slowly closed his burning eyes.
His eyes snapped back open when something weird was placed above his mouth and nose and then he was able to inhale. Taehyung took a deep breath, exhaling and inhaling on a rapid pace, coughing a few times before staring wide eyed at Jungkook.
Two shark men have moved up to him, one of them holding an oxygen tank in his clawed hand while the other must've placed the oxygen mask over his head. "Glad these ships have such things, makes it more easier for you to stay with me", Jungkook said, hands already pulling Taehyung close again, one tentacle coming up to caress his face.
And the little raven panicked.
Taehyung tried to flee and tried to remove the oxygen mask but Jungkook forcefully pulled it back down, locking the mask in its place. "I won't allow you to kill yourself, Taehyung! You will fucking wear this mask until my powers return! I won't allow you to leave my side ever again! You're mine!", Jungkook screamed out furiously while pressing the mask to Taehyung's terrified face.

The male clawed at his hands, finding it horrible to be with Jungkook this way, the claws scratching over his sensitive skin while he tried swimming backwards but more tentacles came onto his body and forced him down, returning him back into Jungkook's possessive hold.
Jungkook brought their faces closer, a snarl on his face, evident anger in his eyes while he made sure the mask was secured and in place over Taehyung's face. "Now listen to me closely, Taehyung. I won't allow you to kill yourself, not when I worked my fucking ass off to have you by my side. Do you know how hard that was?! How convincing I had to be so the island would grant me my wish?", Jungkook spat out angrily at the terrified boy in his hold.
"I pretended to hate you since you were an outsider, I had to have the group on my side. But how can I hate such beauty, such a delicate angel who's meant to be by my side? No Baby, you're not leaving me. So the mask stays on even if I have to glue it to your pretty face!!", Jungkook yelled out, firmly pulling the strands of the mask over the back of Taehyung's head while pretty tears formed in the male's eyes.
"You two. Watch over us but don't interfere in our conversation. Stay close but if you dare to listen, I'll throw you to the other sharks to end you. Understood me?", Jungkook growled out, arms already wrapped around Taehyung's waist again, the rests of his shirt hanging from his petite shoulders. He didn't dare lifting his hands to pry the mask off of his face, too intimidated by Jungkook's previous speech.
So he allowed Jungkook pulling him away, tentacles cradled around his body like a protective shield from whatever danger Jungkook thought would happen to him which wasn't inflicted by him since Taehyung saw him as the only threat to his safety.
"And this is so bothersome!", Jungkook groaned out and ripped the remaining bits of Taehyung's shirt off. The male replied to the action with a yelp when the long sharp claws scratched over his skin again. "This wasn't part of my plan but I'll adjust to it... it's fine though, I had to stay in the water anyways until my powers are returning", Jungkook grumbled to himself, swimming away with long confident strides while Taehyung was just hanging helplessly in his arms.

"P-powers?", he whimpered out, the first word spoken since a felt eternity yet he regretted speaking up because Jungkook's head whipped towards him faster than light. "Yes, my Beautiful", Jungkook cooed, admiring Taehyung's wide scared eyes for a second before caressing the side of his face. "I'm sorry for handling you rough and playing such a twisted game with you. But if you want to survive here, you better become the killer before anyone else", he reasoned his terrific actions.
"Y-you're a m-monster", Taehyung whispered and Jungkook looked down to where his legs should've be. "Oh, you mean this? That's nothing to be afraid of. An advantage though. Makes everything so much easier", the blonde island boy replied simply before pulling Taehyung back against his chest since the weakened boy has accidentally almost slipped out of his hold.
"I wasn't always like this... everything changed when our ship crashed against a cliff", Jungkook dreamingly recalled the long passed memories. "I don't even remember the year but it's been a while. I wasn't alone, a few shipmates got onto the island too. They all were so eager to leave again, but to me, the island was paradise. It was perfect, I didn't want to return to my life. But the island wanted something in return", Jungkook said and Taehyung understood.
Jungkook wasn't feeding himself. He was feeding with new lives so he was able to stay and enjoy his self announced paradise. But he had to work for his stay. But instead of money, the island was thirsty for blood.
"The ones going against me end up killed, as food for the inhabitants of the island. The animals, the sharks. Aw, don't look so shocked Sweetheart, did you really think I was alone?", Jungkook cooed at Taehyung for being so cute and so stupid. "You see, the ones I have sucked the willpower from end up as sharks. Once they hit the water, they transform so they cannot leave the island and it can continue feasting on them. It's quite simple, it's a never ending circle of give and take."
So that was what Jungkook meant about 'keeping the circle up'. Everything was so much clearer now for Taehyung.
"The energy allows me to stay alive and adds more time to my lifespan. The tentacles were a gift and a curse. Because I also cannot leave. It's my purpose to get new food, y'know", Jungkook smiled wickedly, enjoying to share his long kept secret finally to someone.
"T-then w-what about m-me? Why am I n-not dead?", Taehyung whispered, hands having come down to rest on Jungkook's hard chest so Taehyung could put them anywhere. Jungkook tilted his head to the side, blonde hair surrounding his head like a halo. Funny. How he wasn't anything like an angel but more a demon.
"Because I'm lonely. I'm surrounded by victims that are going to die anyways. No one is there to enjoy the eternity with me. But then you came, stumbling so wonderfully onto my island and falling asleep in my presence. How deliciously innocent you were, falling asleep in front of a predator! You fascinate me so I decided to spare you. You're beautiful, Taehyung and I can't harm you. You might think I'm a monster with no heart but I love you. Deeply. So I took the quests onto my shoulders so you can live with me", Jungkook said, eyes sparkling happily.
"I'm finally not alone anymore, because I have you now. And you can't leave", the blonde excitedly said, shortly pulling Taehyung's mask down to peck his lips before pulling it back down. Taehyung couldn't take the new found information in.
His mind simply gave up and the last thing he saw were Jungkook's wide black eyes staring surprised at him before he fell into his opened arms.

8 171Essentia Animus
Second Book of the Soul - Celesi Veil Trilogy When the living essence of three girls are put at risk, giving room for a second essence within themselves, even their hyper developed fantasy world might not be enough to contain their new found ambitions. Another story of another world, these three girls must adapt to their new essence, all while each is left to question if they are truly still even alive. While this story is a sequel of the previous story in the trillogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, taking place in a distant corner of a Celese returning readers will be otherwise incapable of recognizing. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for the previous book, in case that matters to anyone. This story takes place over two centuries after the events of Vitae Memorandum, when Celese had developed into an advanced world, improved to a point that it is much like modern-day Earth while still using the gift instead of technology. The Aethyx languages are still present in this book, and even English still exists in the world after the events of the previous book, but are much less of a focus after the same closing events of the previous book. What is instead important is how the ending events of the previous book had resulted in the start of the Instrumentation Era, and exactly how the gift translates in a modern-day sense. While this book is still effectively a fantasy world of its own kind of magic, it isn’t the classical medieval scene that would be typical for such a story. The laws of science still do not exist in Celese, but that didn’t stop it from developing into something that looks similar enough. Earth itself still remains present on the other side of the veil, and its previous exposure continues to shape and advance Celese into the world it has become. This story contains scenes exibiting mania and similar dark themes, as it goes to great length to explore concepts of life and death. While the degree of such themes should not be considered to be as serious compared to matters such as actual horror, the psychological depth is still siginifcant enough to be potentially concerning for people sensitive to matters of this nature, such as any individuals with concerns questioning matters of suicide, mental harm, or a variety of emotional injuries. While none of these subjects actually occur in the story, readers who are currently troubled by such matters may find themselves considering old wounds if they are especially capable of empathy while reading, which could lead to furthered emotional or mental stress. Readers with a high capacity for empathy may find themselves troubled by concerns regarding any potential lack of mental/emotional control as well as considerations regarding the meaning of death. Readers who appreciate subtle dark themes in a story may instead find this to be an interesting twist of the same idea.
