The day has come to an end, all of them gathered around the usual bright fire again in the back of the beach, Taehyung and Namjoon sitting close to each other, happily exhausted after spending the day in the water. The others have been productive, cutting wooden planks to later tie them together and collecting varieties of food to store.
Taehyung didn't feel bad for not helping them, he instead felt like a rebel going against Jungkook's lead and he felt proud to not let himself being kicked to the ground in submission by the group. No, he still continued to stand up for him.
But it became more difficult to ignore the stares into his direction. Some were hateful and one specific was so intense that Taehyung felt like it was burning through his skull when he would look.
Taehyung wondered why Jungkook was staring at him like this. From day one, Jungkook has watched Taehyung, observed the little raven with such intensity that it confused Taehyung to the core. He knew he has been doing nothing but questioning the blonde but this type of stare was different.
Unlike the rest of the group, this stare was filled to the brim with lust and desire. Hot burning desire eating Taehyung alive whenever he caught the stare. They haven't spoken much either, Jungkook sometimes mocking him behind his back.
Taehyung has earned the nickname of "little one", because he was smaller than Jungkook and one of the younger passengers. It was mocking and meant to turn him submissive, Jungkook always calling him that.
The group would snicker amused after the raven when he left the group with red burning ears. Jimin hasn't come to stay with Taehyung either, preferring to stick to the protective amount of people than one single person.

But Taehyung now had his friend by his side, Namjoon cuddled up to him and Taehyung was mindlessly caressing Namjoon's shoulder, massaging the wound carefully while Jungkook was silently glaring at them.
The blonde was surrounded by the four only young females, sitting close to him and touching him in any way. He didn't seem to mind at all, wearing a victorious smirk on his face and making sure Taehyung was looking before pulling one of them closer.
The raven crinkled his nose, moving closer to Namjoon while mewled when the massaging fingers digged into the right spot and his head fell onto Taehyung's shoulder. It resulted in Jungkook throwing them an angry glare.
°°°
It must've been around midnight, Taehyung and Namjoon waiting for Jungkook to leave, when movement got into the blonde. The two have made the deal to follow Jungkook to finally feast their curiosity and see why he was leaving.
They also wanted to know if he was the one to make the two passengers disappear out of the sudden.
Taehyung nudged Namjoon who has fallen asleep against his shoulder and the purple haired male stirred awake. "Joon, he's standing up", Taehyung whispered in a hushed voice, afraid that anyone would hear him but luckily, the rest of the group has already fallen asleep, Taehyung and Jungkook being the only ones to be awake.
Taehyung has pretended to sleep so Jungkook would finally leave and after the island boy has looked around, eyes of course lingering a little bit longer over Taehyung's body, he has put the females curled around his body to the ground before standing up.
"Joon", Taehyung hissed and shook Namjoon's shoulder when the crouched figure slowly disappeared into the jungle, looking around warily before making his way into the depths of the jungle. Namjoon quickly shot up, looking around to see Jungkook gone. "Quick now, we have to follow him", Taehyung hissed and helped Namjoon to stand up, the two silently making their way through the sleeping figures.

"Careful", Taehyung hissed at the clumsy Namjoon who almost tripped over one arm, Jungkook's little followers laying around scattered around the spot he has currently laying on. Taehyung wanted to snarl at them for throwing themselves so pathetically at someone but he right now had to focus on another goal.
And that was to find Jungkook in the darkness of the jungle. "C'mon now, Joon!", Taehyung hissed, urging his friend to hurry up so they wouldn't miss Jungkook's path and the purple haired man hurried to follow after the impatient little raven, clutching onto his shoulder.
"Be a little bit more silent, I don't want to be caught because of you", Namjoon whispered back harshly while following after the fast raven jumping over a few leaves that could crack. "Maybe he's a werewolf and has to transform every night to not go insane", Taehyung said cheekily with a little giggle at the end and received a hit from his friend.
"Don't be ridiculous, werewolves aren't real you dummy. Focus on finding his path, idiot", the elder scolded the raven who giggled before diving into the jungle. "Okay, okay. No need to be mean to me. It could be, y'know", Taehyung replied back silently. Namjoon snorted while following after him.
"Or he's just a creep", he pointed out and Taehyung hummed, trying to orientate in the dark and trying to spot the blonde head of the man they were currently following. "Or that", Taehyung replied before spotting the blonde head in the distance, smiling victoriously to himself.
"This way", he told Namjoon.
They moved after Jungkook and got immediately swallowed by the dark of the jungle.

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!
