happen so fast, both of them were energetic and happy for some reason they can't tell. Y/N would catch the viscount steal glances from time to time. He would too. Whenever they do, they would never miss the chance to smile and raise their eyebrows in a manner. One time, an old woman approached them with a boy who looked like their age. She asked for a bouquet, but kept changing her mind. The boy who accompanied her only sighed and rolled his eyes.

Y/N was trying so hard not to laugh at his reactions. Then, the lady scoffed. "Your flowers are all dull," she spat as she put the bouquet of white and light pink flowers down.

"With all due respect, Ma'am. I've given you all the flowers in this stall. If you didn't like any of it, why don't you just go somewhere else?" Y/N said, making her companion smile slightly.

"What did you just say?"

"I said go somewhere else."

"No matter. Your flowers are dead and wrinkly anyways. I also don't like your bouquet. Fighting for femininity? How rubbish is that? Silly girl, you're too young and too naive to understand the world."

"Yet my flowers aren't as wrinkly as you. Sorry for the disrespect, but you must be informed that I'm only returning it. 'Tis a shame that you have the knowledge of the flower language but never the truth of the restrained female rights that we should fight for," L/N snapped. The woman frowned at the sudden act.

"You have quite a sharp tongue for a young lady," She stated.

"A sharp tongue that I use to utter pure facts, fighting for a change unlike yours. You're too unawakened for an ageing woman. "

"How dare you speak to me like that?" "Apologies. I lose control of my temper, but that doesn't mean I take back my words. I stand by what I said."

"You're aware that what you're doing is illegal, right?" "I am aware, but I'm not afraid."

"Shame on your parents for raising such an-", she was cut off by her company, "That's enough, Grandmother. We do not have time for this."

"I no longer have any parents, by the way. I hope you're satisfied by pouring your anger on me. Have a nice day!", Y/N said and faked an enthusiastic smile as she was being dragged away by her grandson.

"That was quite intriguing," The girl heard the viscount speak. She scoffed and laughed. "She's a woman too yet she finds my idea silly." — "Oh, you know how the world revolves these days, Y/N." — "I know and that's why I need to do something to change it."

"Quite the pair you are. Now, I want four yellow flowers, two blue, and a red one. I don't care about the breed. Any flower will do," A girl in a pink dress and a half-up hairstyle said.

Y/N smiled, "Enola!" She shrieked and pulled the girl in a warm welcoming embrace.

"I've missed you too, Y/N." She said and turned her head to the astounded Viscount.

"I'll leave you two be." L/N said and left. She sat somewhere on the side of the stall, grabbing a red rose, picking the petals one by one. The girl couldn't help but watch as the two conversed with wide smiles on their faces. Somehow it made her feel a little curious as to what they're talking about. She also felt an angry emotion wash through her.

Still watching, Y/N saw Tewkesbury give Enola a pink flower just like he answered the other night. What are they doing? What are they up to? What could possibly be the subject of their conversation? As questions filled her head, she thought, 'Why do I want to be the one who receives a lovely gift like that?'

So preoccupied by her own mind, she didn't hear the boy call for her name. Once he finally got tired of yelling for her, he walked over and cleared his throat. She was then interrupted from her ride on the train of thoughts, looking up at him. "What?", she asked. "We have somewhere to be," he said.

Y/N sprung up from her seat and dusted her new peach dress, "Of course! Where to?", she asked. "I haven't got the faintest idea." He answered. "Well, we don't want to keep Enola waiting now, do we? Let's not dilly dally and go!" The girl unusually exclaimed in a very exaggerated enthusiasm.

This confused the marquess, but shrugged it off.

After minutes of walking around town and avoiding both of her friends, Y/N sighed and collapsed on a chair with a sigh of relief. "Is this how you're living?" The Viscount asked Enola who took care of the curtains.

"Did you just rent a room at the Ritz?" Holmes asked back as an answer.

"We afforded a shade more comfort than this," Tewkesbury said.

"What he meant by 'more comfort' is sharing a bed," Y/N interjected.

"Well, the woman who I boarded off assured me this was a fine room." Enola defended.

"I dare say her standards are very low." The girl sitting on the chair stated.

"Right you are."

The Marquess hummed in response as he took his coat off. "Well, the woman you boarded off lied," he said as his eyes fell on the piece of undergarment hanging on a chair. Holmes quickly managed as the girl sighed.

Enola laughed. "I have but one bed so you two will have to sleep on the floor." She said. Y/N shrugged. She's used to it.She fixed her gaze on the various kinds of newspapers laying on the bed. Thinking it would be pretty invasive to ask, she paid no attention to it and looked around the room. She heard both of her companions talk, pretending like she didn't hear while she stared at the floor.

"Why do you keep all these newspapers, Enola Holmes?" "My mother. I'm waiting for her to leave a message. She hasn't yet." "'Message'? Wh-What?" "Ciphers. She likes ciphers. Coded messages that need to be deciphered." "And why would she leave you a message?"

Enola's face fell as she looked away. "Because she left me and I thought she meant for me to find her, but I'm not sure she did now. So, I left her a message, and I'm hopeful of a reply. I keep the newspapers to check," she said, putting away the old newsprints. One of them fell, so they both grunted and reached for it. A few chitchats later, both Holmes and the marquess seem to touch a little angsty subject.

"People don't seem to want us, do they?" "No," the girl in pink answered. "Still, at least we got each other." Y/N's head itched, feeling like someone's eyes were boring into it. She looked up and turned her head to the boy's direction who seemed to be staring at her.

L/N awkwardly stared back and tugged a smile. "Is something the matter? Is there something on my hair or...", she asked. The girl in pink noticed the unbearable atmosphere and spoke, "I'll make us some tea."

Yes, they've got each other, but is that going to last long?
