《OUR LOVE》Chapter forty-three

"Are you sure you can drive?" I worryingly asked him. I could tell he was trying to cover up his pain but he wasn't doing a very good job at it.

"Yeah. You know it would've been handy if you could drive" he laughed but ended up wincing in pain.

"I can drive...I just don't have a car yet" I laughed back

We pulled up outside out of my house. I was the first out of the car. I quickly walked over to his side and opened the car door. He turned off the car and stuffed his keys in his pocket. I grabbed his left arm and slung it over my shoulder. He grunted and got out of the car. Most of his weight was all on me and what made it worse was my 5"2 height was no match for his 6" height. I managed to get him to the door. "Hold on a sec"

I knocked on the door and then seconds later my mom opened the door. She was standing in front of us with a mud mask and a mango in her right hand. Oh mum. "Sierra...Aaron Oh my God!" Her face widened in horror once she saw the state of him. "What happened to you?" She stepped to the side and let us in before closing the door.

"I'll tell you later mom but can you grab the emergency kit from the kitchen please?" I asked.

"Yeah sure" and she was instantly gone into the kitchen. It dawned on me that to get him up to my room we had to go up the stairs.

After a few minutes the torture was over. "I'm telling you that's my workout for the week" I breathed out. We made it to my bathroom. He flopped onto my toilet seat and groaned in agony. "Sorry"

My mom finally came in with the emergency kit. "Don't worry mom I got it" last summer I shadowed my mom in the hospital since my plans for college was to do nursing. The one thing I learnt was how to deal with black eyes and all sorts of things. She nodded and walked away but not before giving Aaron a long look.

"Thanks for doing this" he said

"I owe you. I could have been drugged right and only God knows what could have happened to me now" I sighed. I still couldn't believe that he drugged my drink. I guess that's what happens when you go to a dance with a drug dealer. "hold still"

"That dress is very distracting with the way you're leaning over me"

I looked down and mentally cursed myself. The low cut dress most definitely not appropriate in this situation. "Well maybe you shouldn't be looking there" I shot back

"It's not my fault. They are literally staring at me" he defended. I don't bother replying because he would probably have another smart comment to throw at me. "So are we going to talk about how you were such a bitch tonight" he smirked

"What? When?" I questioned stopping in my actions

"To Maya"

I rolled my eyes at him and continued what I was doing. "I don't like her" I simply said shrugging my shoulders.

"Or maybe you're just jealous"

"Me? Jealous? Yeah right" I scoffed

You know he's right idiot

"Yeah I think you are but don't worry you're way prettier than her" he winked. I blushed and bit back a smile. He thinks I'm prettier than her?

"Ok you're done" I said moving back and throwing the stuff I used in my trash can by the sink. "Follow me" I said walking out of the bathroom. We walked out into my bedroom. "Sit here. I'm gonna get you a glass of water. I'll be back in a minute" I said and left the room. I gathered the bottom of my dress in my hands and walked down the stairs. I met mom in the kitchen and Her mask was now off her face.

"Is he ok?" She asked.

"Yeah he's fine now" I sighed grabbing a glass from the cabinet. I filled up the glass and was about to walk out when she stopped me in my tracks.

"Before you go up there I need to know what's going on. Why did that other guy bring you to the dance? Why did I hear him say that you and Aaron broke up? And most importantly why is he beaten up?"

I sighed and walked over to her. "Ok truth is Aaron and I broke up over a month ago" I quietly said.

"What? Why what happened and why didn't you tell me" she asked stepping forward towards me. There was no way I could tell her what happened.

"We just got into an argument and I didn't tell you because I didn't want to stress you out. You had been taking extra shifts and had been working really hard so I just couldn't drop that on you"

"But you guys have been acting like a couple since. Like when we had that dinner with his mom"

"We were faking" I sighed

"God Sierra"

"I know I know and I'm sorry" I apologised.

"Ok fine but why is he beaten up like that?"

"He just got into a fight with someone. Nothing you should worry about"

We then heard a creak from behind us. We turned and saw Aaron standing by the door. He looked like a dear standing in front of the headlights of car. "Uh sorry you were taking ages to get the water" he said pointing to the glass that was still in my hand.

"Right sorry" I said shaking my head. I walked over to him and handed him the glass. My mom still hasn't said a word. "Mom"

She then spoke up. "Sierra told me everything" she said putting emphasis on the last word.

He gulped

"I'm not happy with you both lying to me and your mom but it seems you've worked it out between yourselves so I guess it's alright" she said

He nodded. "Thank you. Well I guess I should get going" he said and me back the glass of water

"Nonsense" My mom waved her hand in the air. "You can sleep here and I'll call your mom where you are. You're in no condition to drive on your own"

I gave Aaron a look which definitely didn't go unnoticed by my mom. "Don't get ahead of yourselves. He's sleeping in the guest room"

Heyyyyy lovelies. How are you all doing?
