Sierra's pov

"Are you excited S" Veronica squealed

"For what?" I asked replacing my biology book for my maths book instead.

"The valentines dance of course" she said rolling her eyes at me

"Right forgot about that" I mumbled under my breath.

Every year the school dance committee plan a dance on the day before Valentine's Day. I only ever went once with Ryan back when we were dating but I regret going because it was so boring. Veronica is a sucker for school dances and I still don't know why.

"Why would I be going to the dance if I'm not in a couple with someone?" I asked stating the obvious.

"Well I think you should go...with someone"

"With who?"

"Ok don't get mad but isortaalreadygotyouadatewithzach"

I turned to her and squinted my eyes at her. "I didn't understand a single word you said"

She took a deep breath. "I got you a date with Zach"

"Veronica what the hell. I never said I wanted to go or have a date" I angrily said

Truth is I did want to go but just not with him.

"I know but you you need to live a little and have some fun. Plus it's only one night. You can live with that right?"

"I mean I guess but I dont even know who this guy is"

"He's in our AP biology class" she laughed "you're going to have to meet with him before this Saturday so we can all go dress shopping"

"Whatever" I mumbled. "Where's Steph?" I asked realising she wasn't with us the whole time.

"She has a test first period and wanted to get some extra study in"

I was about to say something when Veronica smiled at something or more like someone behind me. "Hey babe" I heard Josh say and pecked her lips. I miss when Aaron used to call me that. Speaking of Aaron. I turned to him to see he was standing next to Justin. He was in grey sweatpants and a red hoodie.

"Hey" i shyly said. What the fuck? Since when was I shy?

"Hey want to go to maths? The bell is going to ring soon"

"Yeah sure" I grabbed my bag and placed it over my shoulder. "Justin?"

"I'll be there in a sec I forgot my book"

We nodded and walked off. "So I got your little package you sent me on Saturday"

"What?" I asked confused

"The box with all my hoodies in it" He verified

"Oh" i sheepishly said. I could feel my face grow red. After dinner with him and his mom I felt rebellious and sent it out the next day. I completely forgot after everything that happened at Veronica's house. When we got to class the teacher was already there waiting on more students. We sat down and waited for the class to begin.

"So now that we are friends again how about those tutoring lessons?" He asked

"Hmmmm I don't know you're going to have to beg me for it" I smirked

"Beg?"

"Yes beg. I don't think I stuttered" I repeated crossing my arms over my chest.

He narrowed his eyes at me and leaned in close. "In case you didn't know I don't beg for anything"

"Well then I'm not tutoring you" I shrugged. I leaned down and grabbed my materials for class out of my bag.

"Sierra c'mon" he groaned in annoyance but I ignored him and smiled to myself. "I'm not going to pass this class if you don't help me"

Even the more reason why you should beg.

"Fine. Please help me"

When I didn't say anything he poked my side making me squirm in reflex. "I said please"

I finally looked up at him. "Not good enough"

"Sierra can you please please help me with tutoring" he said.

I rolled my eyes at him. If he thinks saying please twice is begging and going to convince me he has another thing coming.

"I'll buy you McDonald's" my eyes immediately flew to his. Never mind. "For a month"

"Two months" I negotiated

"A month and a half" he said in disbelief

"Two months take it or leave it" I smirked.

"Fine only because I love you"

I stared at him with widened eyes. We stayed silent for a few seconds. "Sorry I didn't mean to say that" he said laughing it off but I could see a hint of red creep onto his face.

"It's cool" I said. I then cleared my throat. "Same day as usual?" I asked referring to the tutoring

"Yeah of course" he said. I nodded and put my head back down into my book.

Lunch

After a few more classes I found myself in the cafeteria. I was sitting next to Steph and Aaron and Justin were opposite to us. Steph was currently telling us how her test from this morning went. Veronica and Josh weren't here yet and only God knows where they were and what they were doing. Finally after a few minutes they came in hand in hand. Veronica looked happy, a little too happy.

"Smile anymore and I think your mouth and cheeks will stop working" I joked.

"Sorry it's just that Josh asked me to the dance a few minutes ago" she smiled looking over at him.

"Awww that's so cute Vee you guys are going to be the best looking couple going"

"Mhmmm Yeah" She said and sat down on my left leaving Josh to sit next to Aaron in front of Veronica. "Have you told the rest about your date?" She asked.

Aaron's eyes immediately flew up to meet mine. "Date?" He asked confused. "You have a date?"

"I guess not" Veronica mumbled under her breath

"Yeah just some guy" I nonchalantly said.

"Who?" He questioned instantly. I looked back up at him to see he had a hard glare. "Zach from biology" I said slowly.

"Zach Bentley?" Justin laughed

"Sure" I shrugged "why is it so funny?"

"Well because I didn't know you were into guys like that"

"Guys like what?" I was intrigued because I had no idea what he was talking about.

"Damn she really doesn't know" he laughed with Josh. "He's a drug dealer"

My eyes widened in shock and I looked back to Veronica who had the exact same expression. "You got me a date with a fucking drug dealer?" I gritted out through clenched teeth.

"Don't look at me like that! It's my first time hearing this" she said raising her palms up in surrender.

"You're not going with him" Aaron said

"What? Why?"

"You know why"

"I don't know why you are getting mad you probably already have a date too" I say. He looked a bit taken aback but recomposed himself.

"As a matter of fact I do" he smirked

"You do?" I asked with shocked

"You do?" The others repeated

"Yeah I do" He then scanned his eyes around the cafeteria until he settled on a group of girls a few tables away from us. "The girl with the black skirt" he said.

She was sitting at the edge of the table with three other girls. She was wearing a white T-shirt which was tucked into her black denim skirt which came up to her mid thigh. She had light brown hair and was wearing makeup. Even from her just sitting down you could tell she was skinny. I immediately frowned at the thought of her going to the dance with Aaron and not me. I was secretly hoping he wouldn't have a date.

"She's pretty" I muttered

"Yeah" he said and turned back to us.

After school

"We need to go shopping early for our dresses so we have all day to find the perfect dress" Veronica said.

"Yeah sure" I shrugged. "Steph you're going right?"

"Nah I don't have a date so there's no point" she said

"I'll be your date" I laughed

"You already have one dumbass" she rolled her eyes

"Speaking of him" Veronica giggled. "He's coming over right now bye" she then dragged Steph to the opposite side of the lockers. I turned around confused and saw him standing in front of me.

He was tall but not as tall as Aaron. He also had brown hair and light brown eyes. He was dressed in black jeans and a dark blue hoodie. I could tell he truly was a drug dealer because his eyes were red. "Hey" he simply said

"Hey I'm Sierra" i reply

"I know who you are" he laughed. "Veronica told me you were too shy to come ask me if you wanted me to go to the dance with me"

"Did she now" I smiled sweetly but there was a hint of disbelief in my voice. I slowly turned my head to the left where not only Veronica and Steph were standing but the boys were also with them watching us. When I looked at her, she widened her eyes and turned her back to me because she knows she has been caught. I was about to turn my head back to Zach but Aaron caught my eye. He was standing up straight with his hands crossed over his chest and was glaring between us. I quickly returned my eyes back to Zack.

"Yeah I get kind of awkward with these things" I said playing along with Veronica's lie.

"Well I just wanted to know if there's like a dress code you want so we can match or something"

"Umm well I haven't really thought about it but I guess red will be ok" I shrugged

"Cool red it is. I'll see you around then" he said and left.

I walked back to the group and glared at Veronica. "I was shy? Really? Huh?"

"I'm leaving" she quickly said and dragged Steph and Josh with her.

"You coming man?" Justin asked Aaron

"Yeah give me a second" he said. Justin looked briefly between Aaron and I before leaving.

"What were you guys talking about?"

"Just what colour we were going to wear" I shrugged. He nodded his head. "I know I said we would take things slow but we aren't together and it's only a friendly date" I explained

"No you're right don't worry about it" he smiled. He then slung his arm over my shoulders and leaned down to my ear. "Last one to the parking lot has to drink a glass of raw eggs" and with that we took off.
