Sierra, Sierra wake up" I heard my mom whisper shaking my body a little too much.

"Ughhh no go away" I groaned pulling the duvet over my head.

"No get up we are going grocery shopping today" she said and yanked the covers back so my whole body was exposed.

"What? no Mom it's early and why do I have to go with you?" I asked sleepily

"It's twelve noon and when was the last time you came shopping with me? Hmm?" She asked folding her arms against her chest. "Exactly my point" she answered when I didn't reply to her. "Get up now or I'm taking your phone off you"

"Hey that's not fair you can't do that!" I yelled sitting up in my bed

"Actually I can because I'm your mom" she smirked and walked out of the room. I sighed and fell back on my bed. I leaned over to my nightstand and grabbed my phone. I quickly scrolled through Twitter and instagram for twenty minutes and then I got up to get ready.

After showering I threw on a pair of light grey joggers with a dark grey cropped turtle neck. I skipped wearing makeup and threw my hair in a messy bun.

I walked out of my bathroom and my eyes caught the brown box I shoved under my bed. I was going to have to give that back to him sooner rather than later. I slipped on some white sneakers and grabbed my phone before walking downstairs. As I was doing so I met my mom at the bottom to the stairs.

"Oh good I was just about to come up there to get you" she said "you can skip breakfast, we can eat out later" she smiled. My mom knows how much I prefer eating out than eating at home. I wasn't able to explain it but I just love it.

We made our way to the car and within ten minutes we were at Target.

"Sierra put that down I'm not buying that" my mom sighed. Within five minutes of being here I was already asking her to buy me stuff.

"Please mum I haven't had them in ages" I whined holding up the colourful packet of skittles in my hand.

"Fine it's either the oreos or the skittles" she said. Being a nurse had its positive sides but my mom has also experienced many diabetic people in her nursing years so she doesn't like me eating unhealthy all the time. Don't get me wrong she's not like a crazy mom who only lets her kids eat something unhealthy once a week but she's definitely mindful of my health. I threw the skittles into the trolley and removed the cookies.

"Catherine?" My mom and I both turned around at the sound of her name being called. I silently groaned when I saw who it was. Two meters away from us was Aaron and his mom. "I knew that was you. How are you!" His mom smiled walking over to us with Aaron walking behind her. He was wearing a black jumper with grey shorts and his hair was slightly damp.

"I'm great and yourself?" My mom asked

"I'm good just doing some grocery shopping" she replied. She then turned to me. "Sierra how are you?"

"I'm good thank you" I politely said.

It was my moms turn to ask Aaron how he was. "Aaron how are you? You look better from when I last saw you" she laughed

"Yeah I'm a lot better now" he smiled.

"So when are you taking my daughter out on a date again?" My mom asked making his mom laugh. God kill me now. He looked at at me briefly for a second with an amused expression before looking back over at my mom.

"Oh don't worry I have something amazing planned for her" he smiled and winked at me making me roll my eyes. "Do you mind if I steal her for a bit?" He asked

"Oh of course, I'll catch up with your mom here"

Aaron nodded and signalled at me to follow him. We walked a few meters away from them but we were still in their line of view. "You're mom doesn't know" he straight up said.

"What?" I asked confused

"You never told your mom that we broke up. Right?"

I sighed and looked over at mom who was now laughing away with his mom. "No"

"Why not?" He asked

"Because" I started throwing my hands up in the air. "She's not going to take it well. When I told her last summer that Ryan cheated on me she was livid. She even went as far as going to his house and telling his parents" I laughed, rethinking the memory. "She would have gone crazy mom mode on you"

"Well thanks for not telling her then" he said

I narrowed my eyes at him. "I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for her. She's been extremely busy with work and my dads anniversary just passed. I don't want to tell her because it will just be extra weight added on her shoulders."

"So you're not going to tell her?" He questioned

"I will...just not yet" I sighed. "What about you? Have you told you're mom yet?"

"Why would I tell her when I'm going to get you back" he said running his hands through his curly hair, making him look hotter than ever. He didn't give me time to respond because she grabbed my hand and led me back to our parents

When we got back to our parents they were also just finishing up with their conversation.

"Ok well hopefully we talk again soon" his mom said placing her hands back on the trolley.

"Actually how about we all have dinner at our house tomorrow evening?" My mom suggested. My eyes went wide when she said this.

"Oh that would be wonderful. It will give us much more time to catch up" his mom replied

"We can't tomorrow" I blurted out. The three of them turned their heads to me and looked at me confused. "Uhhhh because you're working tomorrow evening. Right mom?" I said trying to justify myself.

"Oh don't worry about that. I'll just take the early morning shift instead plus I haven't relaxed in the evening for a long time so it will be fine" my mom smiled

"Are you sure? We can always reschedule" his mom offered.

Please reschedule. Please reschedule

"No don't worry! Rescheduling isn't needed" my mom laughed. Great.

"Alright then. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Bye Catherine, bye sierra" she said turning her trolley in the direction she came.

"Bye Alice, bye Aaron"

"Bye sierra" there was something about the way he said my name that made my stomach do a flip and I've no idea why.
