《OUR LOVE》Chapter thirty-one

Waking up the next morning was so difficult that my mom literally had to drag me out of bed and push me into the shower. Literally. I told myself that I didn't want to be one of those girls who forget how to take care of themselves or act half dead just because of a breakup but it really was hard not to. After showering I threw on a black turtle neck long sleeve with black jeans and a denim jacket on top. Thirty minutes later I found myself in the back of veronicas car with Steph in the front.
"How are you holding up S" Steph asked
I shrugged and looked out of the window watching the trees vanish as we drove by. "Fine I guess. I'll get over it". That was lie. I don't think I'll ever get over it, not for a while at least. Finding out your boyfriend agreed to put a bet on you to take your virginity isn't exactly ideal. I know it's only been three and half months but during that time period I felt like we had been dating for a lot more. Now that I think about it, were his feelings for me even real at all or was it all just an act to get into my pants?
"Sierra get out of the car. We are here" veronica said snapping her fingers in front of me. I shook my head and realised we arrived at school. "Are you sure you're ok"
"Right sorry and yeah I'm fine. Don't worry about it" I smiled but they knew me too well to know it's fake.
"Ok don't listen to anything anybody has to say. Stay far from Rachel and if you can stay clear from Aaron too" Steph said. "Do you have any classes with him today?"
"Shit yeah maths" I groaned. We finally arrived at our lockers and got our necessary books.
"You will be fine" she smiled.
"We are going to biology, are you coming?" Veronica asked
"Yeah" I said slamming my locker. Just as we were about to leave Josh and Justin came up to us.
"Sierra I'm so sorry. Don't get mad at Aaron this was all my fault. I was the one who suggested the bet not him" Josh said

"Either way he agreed when he shouldn't have" I snapped."I gotta go" and walked away
"Sierra wait up" I tuned around and saw Justin running up to me. "Can we talk for a second?"
"Uhhhh...sure" I hesitantly said gripping my bag tighter on my shoulder. "You guys can go ahead of me" I said turning to the girls.
"Listen I know what Aaron did was wrong but he was going to tell you. I know how he feels about you and trust me he has never talked about a girl like how he talks about you before."
"What do you expect me to do? Welcome him back with open arms and pretend everything is ok? I'm done with him" I then saw Aaron walking towards his locker. He must have sensed someone looking at me because his eyes met with mine. I quickly looked back at Justin. "I gotta go bye" I quickly rushed out and left.

At lunch
After what felt like ten years it was finally my favourite time of the day. Eating. The girls and I made our way down there straight after English was over.
"So are we sitting with the boys or at our old table?" Veronica asked. I looked at the boys table. They seemed to be laughing at some joke. I then looked at our old table which nobody has been sitting in.
"Our old table" I finalised. We sat down and began digging into our food. The girls were talking about something but all I could hear were the whispering of two girls as they walked past.
"She actually thought he liked her"
"She's so gullible"
"What did he even see in her? She's ugly"
I can't take this anymore
I stood up so fast nobody saw it coming "If you have something to say, say it to goddamn face. I'm not deaf!" I yelled at the two girls who had lunch trays in their hands. The whole cafeteria went quiet. I removed my gaze from them and noticed that the everyone was staring at me.
"Sierra.." Veronica whispered. I grabbed my bag and walked out making my way towards the bathroom. Not even a second later the girls busted through the doors and brought me Into their embrace.

"I don't get it? How am I getting all the hate when I did nothing wrong" I cried.
"Hey look at me S, you did nothing wrong Ok? This just shows how fucked up our generation is. You need to ignore them ok? veronica explained
"Ok" I simply said nodding my head.
After the girls helped me retouch my makeup so you couldn't tell I was crying the bell rang.
"You guys can wait for after school at the car. I need to tell my maths teacher that I can't tutor Aaron anymore" I explained
They nodded their heads and we all went our separate ways.
Once I got to class I could feel the stares burning into my skull. I walked to the back of the class where my seat was and sat down. Aaron thankfully wasn't here yet. After a few minutes the teacher finally walked in with Aaron hot on his tail
"Ok books and copies and out!" The teacher said. As Aaron made his way down to his seat I accidentally made eye contact with him. I quickly looked back down at my blank page and pretended I was writing. The rest of the class was quiet expect for the occasional times when someone would make a joke. After an hour the bell rang indicating school was over.
"MAKE SURE YOU DO THE HOMEWORK! I DON'T WANT EXCUSES" The teacher shouted. Everyone began piling out of the door. "Aaron and Sierra stay back for a moment please"
I walked up to him with Aaron behind me. "Just checking in to see how the tutoring is going" he said leaning against his desk.
"That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about sir" I started "I can no longer continue to tutor him"
"What?why?" Aaron asked. I inwardly rolled my eyes at him. He knew exactly why I couldn't tutor him anymore.
"I'm sorry sir but I'm way to busy lately to be helping him but I'm sure there are other students who can" I politely said
"Coach she's the only one who can teach me maths...no offence to you"
I looked at him with a confused expression "How can you even say that when I'm the only tutor you've had?"
"Ok ok that's fine Sierra I will find someone else. In the mean time, Aaron, you need to keep working. You can both leave now"
I was the first out the door. I just couldn't stand bring in the same room as him. I was in the parking lot when I heard him calling after me. "Sierra wait!" But I didn't stop. "C'mon please just give me a few minutes" he pleaďed.
I turned around sharp on my heel. "You have sixty seconds"
He nodded before taking a deep breath."listen I know what I did was bad and unacceptable but I just want you to know I still and always will love you and-"
Slap.
I could here the gasps of some students who were still in the parking lot. I watched as his head snapped to the right due to the slap I gave him. "Love? You don't love me Aaron because if you did you wouldn't have kept this away from me or lied to me" I screamed
"I was stupid and wasn't thinking straight"
"No you're wrong. I was stupid. I was stupid for thinking I could go out with a guy like you and not think you would screw me over like you've done to nearly every girl in this school"I yelled pushing him so he stumbled back a few steps. I ran my hand through my hair and took a deep breath. "Just stay the fuck away from me. I mean it" I started making my way to veronicas car when I haltded in my steps.
"I nearly forgot" I bitterly laughed. I took the necklace off my neck and threw it at his feet. "Maybe you can give it to a girl who can put up with your bullshit" and with that I was gone
Heyyy lovelies. Shit has really hit the fan. Do you think Sierra will ever be able to forgive Aaron? Let me know what you thought of this chapter by leaving a comment. If you enjoyed this chapter don't forget to vote.

The Simulacrum
"He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you." --- Friedrich Nietzsche (probably?) How would you react if one day you woke up inside an environment running on tropes and clichés? For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this question became quite relevant when one day he woke up in a pristine city on a strange island in the middle of the Atlantic, without any memories, surrounded by classmates who are barely more than characterless placeholders, and with a classic indecisive harem protagonist and his impossibly beautiful love interests for friends. That would be hard to deal with already, yet his investigation into the tropes governing the world, trying to avoid harem shenanigans, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes ends up dragging him into the center of the action anyway. Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.
