CHAPTER 13

Art went by...good actually. It wasn’t that bad, but Noah did keep throwing meaningful smirks at me, from what he saw yesterday, making me scowl.

God! I wish he would just forget that....it was so fricken embarrassing!

Infact...the rest of the morning went by......okay. Not great cus I hate school....but it wasn’t bad. And I had more classes with Seth which was good.

But right now...its lunch and I’m heading towards the cafeteria to meet my brothers....

“Hey! Lexi, wait up!” I hear an familiar voice shout from behind me and pause in my tracks and turn around to see the dark brown hair that belongs to Charlie.

A smile pulls up at my lips without me even realising it and I scold myself for doing that

I can’t get to friendly, the voice inside my head says. You don’t want to go down the same road again.

I shake my head, dropping my smile as Charlie runs up to me smiling widely “Hey! Wanna join me for lunch?” She says, her blue eyes twinkling.

I open my mouth to decline but she grabs my arm “Tough! You’re coming anyways!” She grins and pulls me with her the rest of the way to the cafeteria......

“But..but..I can’t...” I start to protest as she pulls me though the doors

“Oh hush! You’re gunna join us for lunch and that’s that” She practically orders, but smiling still and pulls me in the direction of a back table near the windows and my eyes scan the mass of heads in the cafeteria looking for where my brothers are.....

“Guys! Look who’s coming to join us” Charlie’s cheering voice cuts through my scanning and I snap my head back to see us approaching a table where Nathan and Abigail are sat, the two people from my art class...and obviously Charlie’s friends...

They smile at me as Charlie pushes me forward towards the table....

I give a small smile, and before I can even think of running away, Charlie pushes me down into a chair next to Abigail and then she takes the one next to me, Nathan opposite us.

Oh man.....looks like I’m not getting out of this.

I tilt my head up slightly looking over the sea of heads in hopes to see the blonde hair of my twin...the first person to spring to my mind at the current moment in time.

Why am I sat here? Why the heck did the ask me?!

The only reason that springs to my mind is to use me...like all the others...to get to my brothers....

I frown at that...not letting my guard down.....

“Sooo...Lexi? you coming to get that milkshake with us later” Charlie asks turning to me and popping a fry into her mouth and I blink.....

I didn’t even know she had food...

“Oh..um.....I dunno...” I mumble frowning slightly and again glancing around the cafeteria...

“Ooh...please come!” Charlie pouts making her blue eyes wide...

“Yeah, you gotta come, they do the most amazing milkshakes you will ever taste!” Abigail says smiling/smirking and sipping her juice and Nathan nods agreeing.

Do I?

Before I can even think about it I hear that all to familiar voice....

“OI, Lexi!....come sit with us!” Evan’s amused voice rings in my ears and I frown...

Great.

“Yeah Lex, what ya doing here?...we’ve got you some food! Come, come” Chris now says and I can sense them approaching then feel a hand on my arm, tugging me upwards.

I scowl, they just have to ruin it don’t they.

Evan pulls me up out of my seat grinning and slings his arm over my shoulder as I frown at him

“Come on sis, we got some awesome foo-“ He gets cut off....

“You know she can make up her own mind numbnuts” Charlie says standing up also and narrowing her eyes at Evan which makes me blink in surprise...

She-a girl- is actually narrowing her eyes at Evan! Well that’s a first, girls normally melt at his feet....literally!

Evan himself seems surprised, at not having a female go or googly eyed on him, I hear Chris snicker and Evan composes himself, putting on his usual flirtatious smirk.

But before he can say anything Chris does....

“Ha yeah...but Lex here is our sister” He says smirking down at me “And she always eats lunch with us....so come on Lex” He smirks wickedly

Yeah only because I never had any friends! I add in my head scowling at him and yank my arm away from Evan’s hold.

Charlie smirks, obviously seeing that “Yeah....and it looks as if she’s chosen to stay here” She says smirking, glancing at me.

“You know....I thought that you guys were hot-“ Charlie starts tilting her head to the side looking towards Chris and Evan who immediately put on that cocky smirk at what she said... “But! That all changes when you open your gob” She states and sits back down, slyly smirking arms folded over her chest.

Evan and Chris’s expression is priceless!

I burst out laughing, along with Nathan and Abigail-thou they are more discreetly- and I slump back down in to the chair still giggling.

“That’s exactly what I say to them!” I laugh out as Charlie smirks proudly and starts chuckling.

Evan and Chris seem to have gotten over their initial shock, because now there glaring at Charlie...making me laugh again.

“Pfff...whatever” Evan says still narrowing his eyes at her...oh and me!

“Losers...” Chris or Evan mutter as they turn away, walking back to their table and I smirk....and high-five Charlie.

“Man.....they sure do need to be put in their place” I smirk turning in my seat properly to face the table.

“Yup!...and it’s all true” Charlie says leaning forward on her elbows “I did think they were hot-“ She says and I scrunch my nose up in disgust “But....when they do open their mouth...it’s just bla, bla, arrogant, bla, bla, total player, bla” She ends smiling/smirking at me slightly.

I chuckle in agreement....she’s got it right there.

Maybe they weren’t as I first thought....

“They were your brothers?” Nathan asks raising an eyebrow

“Fortunately.....yeah” I mutter but lightly smile.

He and Abigail turn their heads slightly towards the table the other side of the cafeteria where my brothers are sat around a table being their usual self..

Abigail raises and questionable eyebrow “All of them?” She asks looking back to me....

I hesitate for a moment...but then smile lightly and nod “yeah.....I’ve got twelve..” I say smiling slightly and looking back to the table

“Whooo! No way!...” Abigail says eyes wide...but then smiles “Awesome”

I look at her slightly surprised she would choose the word ‘awesome’ to describe having twelve brothers...it’s not exactly one I would use :P....

“Twelve? That’s pretty cool” Charlie smiles then chuckles “ I would love to have other siblings...it sucks being the only one” She says sipping her drink.

I laugh humorously “Pfff ha....take mine....please” I smirk slightly half serious and half not.

They chuckle and surprisingly we go into a random conversation....talking as if....well...we’ve always been friends.

I’m still on edge thou....not fully letting my guard down until I know....cus after all, they can suddenly turn on you.

I glance towards my brothers table to see a few other random people with them...but then also Seth...and I frown at the look on his face..

He’s looking down at his tray of food, frowning as deep in thought.....but I have this feeling that he seems annoyed....

Crap, I should have said he can come sit here....

My phone buzzes just as I pack my things up from last period-Chemistry

I slip it out my pocket to see a text from my mom....

‘Come straight home Lexi with the boys

Love you –mom xxxxx’

I frown slightly at that...feeling a weird sensation in my stomach, why does she want us home straight away? It almost sounds as something’s wrong....

“who is it?” Seth asks from beside me, grabbing is bag...

“Mom...” I say slowly, frowning slightly still over the text then look up to him “She wants us home” I say with a shrug showing I have no idea why.

Seth slightly frowns, obviously confused...but nods and we leave the Chemistry classroom towards the parking lot, thank god April didn’t race after us...god she gets on my nerves!

We head to the cars, seeing Chris, Evan and Blake here already arguing...or flirty with some girls around them, and Leon just stood there boredly.

I roll my eyes...

“Mom wants us home guys” Seth says loud enough for them to hear and they snap their heads to us

“Why?” Blake asks

We both shrug and I show him the text I received form mom...and he too looks confused after reading it.

“Kay....Guys! Get in the car!” Blake yells at Chris and Evan crowding some girls and I climb in the back of the car Blake’s driving and soon enough we’re heading out the school gates.

I don’t think anything’s wrong...mom properly just wants us to do chores or something about her job...but still....you always have that ounce of dread....

Finally we arrive home and all head into the house, Chris and Evan pushing eachother out the way for some unknown reason I don’t know...and would rather not know.

As soon as I step through the door of out still new and massive house.....someone barrels into my legs, nearly knocking me over...

“LEXI!” Tom’s voice yells excitedly as he clings to my legs grinning up at me.

I instantly smile down at him, his blue eyes wide with weird excitement...

“Hey there little buddy” I ruffle his hair and crouch down to his level scoping him up into my arms while tickling him slightly making him squirm and giggle then place him on my hip.

“What’s up?” I smile tweaking his nose making him scrunch his face up and I chuckle

He beams at me thou as I start walking towards the kitchen “I made a friend Lexi!” He grins and I smile in awe at him.

“That’s good” I nod smiling but before he can say anything else......I hear my mom’s voice

“Kids! In here please......Charles has something he wants to say!” She calls from the living room and I stop, turn around and head there still carrying Tom

Ohh....so Charles wanted us to come home then?

I walked into the living room...seeing everyone else taking seats and the little ones giggling on the floor....the atmosphere is....happy?....not tense....

I internally let out a breath...good...it’s nothing bad.

As always....my fat asses of brothers have taken up all the sofa’s so I do what I normally do.

Sit on Blake’s lap :P

I give Tom over to Ashton as he didn’t want to get down and he sits on Ash’s lap happily while I smirk at Blake and jump on his lap making him chuckle but then wrap his arms around my waist pulling me closer as I lean back against him.

My mom’s smiling...but looks slightly nervous on the one seater chair with Cory leaning on the side of the arm chair, Joe and Jack are the ones giggling and rolling on the floor clearly up to something, Lee, Leon and Seth on another couch and Evan and Chris on another....while Charles and Daisy standing up by the arch way of the living room, Charles arm around Daisy’s waist loving....and he too looks kinda nervous but Daisy’s smiling....

“Um....mom...guys....we’ve kinda got some news...” Charles says slightly hesitantly and looks down at Daisy who gives him a reassuring smile and he then wraps both arms around her so she’s standing in front of him.....his hands slowly going to her stomach.....

Charles opens his mouth to say something but gets cut off by Daisy....

“We’re going to have a baby!” Daisy says beaming, interrupting Charles....

The room goes silent...as we stare at them eyes wide.......
