[Sorry for this late update:(( Been very busy lately anyways enjoy and sorry for the typos]
"Surprise!"
We all cheered when Eloise enter the room. She'll be spending a week in the states that's why we decided to do her surprise bridal shower today since she'll be married next month.
"Oh my." Eloise brought her hand to her mouth looking surprised at the party we've prepared. We've been planning this party for weeks and even Aiden helped with the preparations.
Eloise stood there remaining shocked at what she was seeing. My heart melted when I saw tears form up in her eyes. "Thank you so much." Eloise smiled at us as she wiped a tear from her cheek.
By the back of my eye I saw Aicko and Shari wipe their tears as well. We all knew that very soon, our Eloise will belong to someone. Even if we her friends aren't her parents we can't help but feel so happy for her. When she gets married to her prince it'll be like we're giving away another child, just like as we gave away Shari.
Our support and love for one another isn't just a typical best friends kind of love. We've been there with each other for so long, we've lived our college lives together and we've seen each other's worst, I'm just glad at the end of the day, one by one, they're all getting the happiness and love they deserve.
"May we your highness?" Shari asked jokingly with Aicko by her side.
Eloise chuckled and nodded. Aicko and Shari then placed a sash around Eloise's chest with the words. Bride to be. Printed on it.
I laughed in awe when Hana came up to Eloise holding a crown in her small hands. The other guests awed because of Hana's cuteness.
"Here's your crown Mommy Loisey." Hana giggled with a crown in her hands.
"Oh Baby, how precious." Eloise laughed and caressed Hana's cheek before kneeling down. Hana placed the crown on top of Eloise's hair and Shari fixed it properly.
When Eloise stood up again with crown and sash, the bridal shower started.
We all sat at our designated tables. This was an all girls event since we thought it would be fun this way, well except for Aiden, he tagged along since he was somewhat part of our circle of friends back at Eres but he was on baby sitting duty so he took care of Hana while Shari emceed the event.
"I'll take Hana out to the park, she's starting to get bored." Aiden said to me while he held Hana's hand while he slung her unicorn backpack on his shoulder. "We already told Shari"
I raised my brow at him and chuckled. "The one you're avoiding isn't here you know, so your efforts to leave are useless."
He suddenly looked away making me laugh. "It's not because of that, Hana's just really bored." He explained.
"Daddy Andi says that he'll get me cotton candy!" Hana said cheerfully.
I laughed and poked her cheek. "Alright alright."
Waiters then came and served us food while one by one girls will come up to the microphone and give out a message to Eloise.
"Paige are you busy this Sunday?" Shari whispered while we were listening to the speeches.
I thought about it. "No, why?"
"I'm supposed to bring Hana with me to Dubai but she doesn't like to go so, can you watch over her for the day? Liam's going to pick her up in the afternoon so that they can hang out."
"Yeah sure I can hang out with Hana until your husband picks her up." I teased her and laughed.
After Shari and I teased each other we went back to listen to the speeches. I watched as Aicko let out her speech which made us all laugh, Shari's was touching, Nile and Diana let out tears as they said their speech , Isabel's was nice and sensible and Khrysie's was funny and heartwarming in a Khrysie way.
After Khrysie finished her speech, she started heading back to her table but when she saw me, I got surprised when she sat down beside me. "Oh wasn't it like only yesterday when Eloise was defending you at Eres from me." She chuckled. "Those were the days."
I laughed. "Yeah, 8 years" I nodded. "Feels good to see Shari married and Eloise engaged, feels like their life's getting better and better."
Khrysie nodded. "Two down." She then pointed to Aiko who was emceeing and at me. "Two to go."
My forehead scrunched in confusion.
Khrysie sighed. "Shari has a husband and Eloise will have one soon, Aicko has a boyfriend but what about you?" She eyed me. "The famous Ashley Bennet?"
"I-I don't really have time for that."
"Oh please." Khrysie rolled her eyes. "You're a model, People love you, what's so hard about getting another boyfriend? I mean your last one was what? 8 years ago?" She crossed her arms. "No harm in finding one again."
I laughed and shook my head. "That isn't my priority as of now."
Khrysie sighed. "I do know a lot of bachelors and fine men of our age who would be perfect for you." She winked at me.
"Oh that's so nice of you but I really don't need-"
"Wait maybe you just can't get over him?" She eyed me.
I frowned and shook my head. "No Khrysie that's not the case."
"Well if ever, just if ever you want to get back with him just let me know, I can just tell Bellona because she can make Blake do anything including meeting up with you."
"Uhm I don't really think that's necessary."
"Oh Paige." She sighed. I could tell that Khrysie was about to talk again when the doors of the event place opened again and in came Bellona looking as stunning and beautiful as ever.
Everyone suddenly went silent when she entered the room. Everyone seemed shocked to see her since she never attends anything and because she was of higher standard than any of us now.
"Oh my God, she's actually came." Khrysie immediately stood up, before she walked away she turned back to me. "Our conversation isn't yet over Paige, if you ever want me to set you up with a blind date or if you want to get back with him, just tell me I can make it work." She winked at me before walking over to Bellona.
I just laughed. How can I tell Khrysie that I would never want any of that.
The bridal shower went on and we spent the night making memories and we all acted as if we were teenagers, having fun on a Friday night in Elite square. Pretending we were in Eres once again.
"Ashley wake up." I felt Stella's hand tap my shoulder. "We're at the resort." My eyes automatically opened and Stella and Abby's faces were the first things I saw.
"Get ready, your shoot starts in an hour." Stella said. I just stretched my body and yawned. They fetched me early this morning at my condo since my photoshoot for Euphoria's swimwear brand will be shot at a beach resort. The beach resort's located quite far from the city making it more peaceful and quiet around here.

"Abby, get her set." Stella ordered before leaving the van. I yawned and rested my head on the car window.
"Ma'am let's get you ready." Abby whispered.
"Ok." I nodded and stood up. I followed Abby to a tent by the beach where she fixed me up. "Mrs. Klein can't come since she's out of the country but her younger brother will be dropping by later." Some of Euphoria's staff that came along with us said.
Great. Just great, why do I have to run into Blake all the time?!
When Abby finished putting on my make up and fixing my hair, I changed into the summer dresses.
"How is it?" Stella asked the photographer when we were on break.
"Really good." The photographer smiled and showed Stella and me the pictures. "She's a natural."
Stella looked pleased with my performance which means I did good. The sky suddenly darkened and grey clouds filled the blue making everyone enter the tents that stood on the beach.
I entered my tent and sat beside Abby who was scrolling through her phone. "The forecast didn't say that there would be any rain today." She said keeping her eyes on her phone.
"I'm hungry." I said out of the blue.
"We'll get food inside the resort after your shoot."
"Ugh! resort food again." I groaned. I've been eating my meals at hotels and resorts lately making me feel tired of it.
"Well this place is known for making delicious creampuffs." Abby told me. "And there's a local bakery nearby that makes them."
"Creampuffs?" My eyes lit up with the idea. "And where is the bakery?"
"Down by the road, you can see it when you leave the resort." Abby answered.
I smile formed on my lips when an idea popped into my head. I stood up and got my purse.
"Wait where are you going?" Abby immediately stood up when she saw me walking out the tent. "I'll just check out the creampuffs." I reasoned.
"Does Stella know?" Abby asked worriedly. I laughed and shook my head. "Just don't tell her, I'll be back in a jiffy."
"Wait! It seems like it's about to rain." Abby stopped me. "Do you have an umbrella?"
I shook my head.
Abby turned to one of the suitcases in the make up station and took out one of my umbrellas that she keeps incase I'd need it. "Cover for me. Thanks!" I said before leaving the tent with the umbrella.
I was wearing my yellow flowy dress with my black umbrella in hand while I searched for the local bakery by the sides of the resort. Palm trees filled the beachside, only the dark clouds ruined the whole tropical vibe.
My eyes lit up when I spotted the small bakery by the palm trees. A smile formed on my face when I smelled it's baked goods. "Hello ma'am, there anything you'd like?" The lady at the front asked.
I immediately spotted the creampuffs displayed on the bakery's windows. My mouth instantly watered. I suddenly found myself digging in my wallet for some cash until I came back to my sense. Slap out of it Paige! You're on diet! I scolded myself.
The lady waited for me patiently. I sighed and looked at the creampuffs.
"You know dear, everyone who visits this area comes by to my shop for creampuffs, why don't you try one for free since you seem like a sweet girl."
"I-I have-" I sighed. How can I possibly turn down this offer? "Thankyou." I gave the lady a smile.
"Oh there you are boy!" The lady said the someone behind me.
My eyes widened when I saw Blake right behind me, still in his business suit, one can tell that he came here straight from the city. When his eyes met mine, he didn't seem as shocked as I was to see him.
"So glad to see you again Mr.Carlisle." The lady in the counter said cheerfully to Blake. "We've got your creampuffs ready when we heard you were coming." She smiled at Blake and turned to me. "I'll get you your creampuffs as well." She then went back inside.
A second after the lady left us, the rain started to pour making Blake scoot over beside me to take shelter under the bakery's roof.
I suddenly felt awkward to be around Blake, Even if I knew that he was coming, why does it always shock me? I cleared my throat to break the silence. "Do you usually buy at this shop?"
"I come here often." He answered before checking his watch as if his time was too important.
"Here you guys are." The lady came back to us. "Creampuffs for you sir, and for you Miss." She placed down 2 paper bags in front of us.
"You're going to eat that?" Blake suddenly asked when he saw the paper bag of creampuffs in front of me. That was when reality hit me hard. What on earth am I doing?! I'm not supposed to eat sweets.
"I'm sorry Ma'am but I can't take it." I moved the paper bag back to the lady. "I'm sure it tastes splendid but I'm on a diet right now." I explained.
"Ohh, so you must be the model that arrived at the resort aren't you?" She eyed me.
I glanced at Blake who didn't seem to care about what we were talking about.
I slowly nodded to the lady. "Oh I see." The lady nodded and took back the paper bag.
"I'll get going then." I smiled at her once again and opened my umbrella. I frowned when I felt Blake's eyes on me. I turned to him and realized that he was looking at my umbrella. My brows scrunched and looked at it as well to check if there was something wrong.
Oh shit! Then it hit me. This umbrella was his! It was the exact one he gave me 8 years ago for me not to be drenched in the rain. I suddenly felt embarrassed, Why do I still even have this?! It was Abby who kept this as an extra!
"It's not yours." I took a step away from him. He raised his brow at me. "I meant the umbrella." I said. God I'm sounding too obvious.
He bit his lower lip and tilted his head to the side to hide his amused smile.
I was about to be defensive again but I changed my mind. Even if he said nothing by the looks of his face, he was sure that the umbrella was his so no matter how much I'd explain, he still wins.
I rolled my eyes. "Here." I closed the umbrella and shoved it into his hands. "You can have it back."
Before he could tease me or make fun of me, I took my chance to run away from him and the bakery. Even if it means I had to run through the rain.
"Hey!" I heard him call but I ignored it. Being seen with his umbrella embarrassed me. He can have it back, for all I care.
"Ashley Bennet what happened?!" Stella scolded me when I came to her all drenched. "Where've you been? Don't you have an umbrella?"
"I remember giving her-no I didn't give her any umbrella." Abby suddenly changed her answer when she saw my pleading face.
"Oh dear what should we do with you?" Stella sighed. "You might catch a cold because of this you should take a shower-"
"The sun's back up, we can resume the shoot!" The photographer called from outside. "Abby fix me up so we can get this over with." I turned to Abby making me successfully avoid the rest of Stella's scolding session.
"What happened to your umbrella?" Abby whispered.
"It broke." I lied but Abby took it anyway. My photoshoot went on while Blake stayed inside the resort since the resort owner is his friend.
"That's a wrap." The photographer said. Stella seemed happy with my performance making me happy as well. I hugged myself as I walked back inside the tent. I started feeling really code even if the sun was high up in the sky.
"I think that was your best photoshoot yet ma'am!" Abby praised when she entered the tent but her expression changed when she saw me. "Hey are you okay?"
"Yeah." I nodded. "I'm just tired."
Since the photoshoot ended, we all entered the resort. I spotted Blake walking with another neat looking man, probably the resort's owner. Stella went to talk to some people about my modeling business while Abby accompanied me to a room where in I could sleep before we go back to the city later tonight.
I lay down on the bed and told Abby to wake me up in an hour and I fell asleep.
I woke up and felt my heavy head. "Abby?"
"Yes ma'am?" looked up from her phone, her eyes furrowed when she saw me. "Is everything alright with you?" She stood up and walked closer to me. "You look so pale." She then placed her hand under my neck and her eyes widened. "Ma'am you're burning!"
Before I could respond, my head felt even more heavy.
At first I saw Abby standing alone, a little later I saw her with Stella, and then other people came into the scene, but I was too weak to sit up.
"We should get a doctor."
"The city is too far from here."
"She needs to go home."
Everyone was talking while Abby wiped a wet cloth on my forehead to lower my body temperature.
I frowned when I saw Blake enter the room. He eyed my condition. "What happened." He asked.
"She's got fever Mr. Carlisle." Stella explained. "It must be because she got drenched a while ago, anyhow she needs medicine but the area doesn't have any drugstores nearby."
"I don't need your help." I said to Blake making him raise his brow at me.
"Ashley!" Stella scolded. "My apologies Mr. Carlisle, she's not usually like this, she's just sick."
"It's fine, I'll take her."
I was suddenly taken aback by what Blake said.
"I have a place nearby and I have some medicine, she can stay there till she's strong enough to head back to the city."
"No!" I protested.
"Oh Mr. Carlisle, that would be wonderful but isn't that too much to ask?" Stella said worriedly. "It's alright." Blake assured her and took my hand. "Lets go."
I frowned at him. "No! I don't want to go with you! No!" I kept protesting but Blake Stella and Abby were already helping me up from the bed and before I knew it, they successfully dragged me to the resort's parking lot in front of Blake's car.
"I'm said I'm fine! I don't need him to help me!" I complained crossed my arms.
