《Mr. CEO gets what he wants》Chapter 5

Trinity POV
The drive to Nathans house is excruciatingly slow. The cars around zooming back and fourth. The low music playing in the car. And the silence that is made between Nathan and me.
It wasn't awkward, just too quiet for my liking.
I sigh thinking about what happened only minutes ago at Avans' house.
My parents.
I haven't seen them in over a year. It doesn't seem like that long but it's an odd feeling to be with someone, depending on someone for so long, and then all of a sudden it's all gone.
But I'm proud of what I did because if I were still living under their roof, I wouldn't be who I am right at this moment. I most probably would have had life handed to me on a silver plate, but whats life without challenges?
"Were here," Nathan says so softly, almost a whisper.
I look back at him and give him a smile and step out.
I let him lead the way, but just before he could unlock the door, I stop him.
"Wait? What about Allison? Won't this look really bad?"
He gives me a sad smile and shakes his head. "Allison and I aren't really together anymore. She decided to spend time with her parents so the house is all to myself."
With that, he unlocks the door stepping in with me trailing behind him.
He walks towards the kitchen while I'm taking off my shoes and placing my bag beside it. As I finish, I walk towards the direction he was walking in and see that he's preparing two glasses of wine.
He gives me a smile. "Something to keeps us warm while we talk shit out."
I groan. "I hate feelings. Why do we have them?"
"Trust me if there was a way I could get rid of them trust me ill be first in line."
He picks up both glasses and says, "To the living room we shall go."
We walk towards it and sit on the plush couches in the center of the room. I look around admiring the way it was styled. Minimalistic yet unique.
"Allison designed it. She was always a fan of architecture and interior design but her father never let her go long with it in college. Instead, she had to endure the pain of business and marketing, the only reason she hated it so much was because of the math that was required, she always sucked at that."

He smiles at the memory.
"You talk about her with so much admiration, yet your relationship seemed tense. But I'm not here to judge, I've only seen you guys conversing once or twice, so I cant really make an assumption based on a few encounters."
"You know, you confuse me."
I raise my eyebrows, "How so?"
He fully turns to me looking so interested in the conversation.
"One minute you're telling me to fuck off, the next your talking to me like a best friend."
"Well, first off I was bitching to get you to understand what you've been doing not just to me but to women who will be spending the rest of her life with you. And secondly, I thought the conversation through and think we just put that aside and just be friends. And friends fight, right?"
He chugs down the remains of his wine, slamming the glass on the living room table.
"Well then, friend? What do we do about the time we slept together?"
I look him in the eye and keep my face straight and whisper, "We forget about it."
We stare at one another for a few seconds, minutes, about to reach two when I realize how beautiful his eyes are.
His eye color was a mix of blue and green, almost like the shore of an ocean mixed with seaweed. Their so intense that I forget what we were even talking about in the first place.
"Done staring?" He says, jumping me out of my trance.
I shake my head, taking another sip of my wine.
"Not yet."
Ignoring my answer, he moves back and leans on the pillows on the couch and stares up at the ceiling.
"You know I haven't forgotten about the fact that its time for you to speak?"
"What?" I say, pretending as if I'm in a state of confusion.
"You're funny. Alright, tell me what happened. You sounded pretty upset on the phone and were really quiet in the car."
I sigh," Are you sure you want to hear all my shit because believe it isn't as simple as your life."
He snorts at my comments.
"Trust me, my life is far from simple, trust me."
I breathe in, closing my eyes briefly and then open them once again.

"Alright. But you're only like the second person I'm telling my story to, so please ignore me if I constantly stutter."
He gives me a smile, "We've got all night."
"No way!" I laugh out.
"Seriously! She was obsessed for months. I needed to get a restating order agains her!"
I laugh even harder at that. I think the multiple bottles of wine were a tad much. But I do have to admit, this is the most fun I've had in ages.
I wipe away the tear that cascaded down my face due to the optimum amount of laughter.
I get up from the couch and stretch out my stiff muscles.
"I think I'm ready for bed."
"Me too. Let's go upstairs, ill show you to the room and give you something to wear instead of what you've been wearing all day."
He walks towards the stairs and I follow behind him. As we reach the top Nathan takes a left and opens the first door.
"This is my room, nothing much to see but it has a bed and an ensuite and thats all I need anyway."
He walks towards his drawers pulling out a t-shirt and a pair of pants. I only stand by the door way and wait for him.
He comes back handing me the pile of clothes.
"I would've given you boxers, but I think I should at least wait till the second date for that."
"Oh, so you expect to actually do more shit with me."
"Only if you want to."
Without even waiting for my reply, he steps around me and asks me to follow him.
He walks just across from his room, opening the white door.
"This is your room for the night. Towels are in the second drawers, extra toothed brushes and tissues are under the sink, and bottles of water should be on the bedside table. If you need anything don't hesitate to knock on my door."
I nod, "Thanks. Really thanks for everything today. For listing to me and for not firing me."
"No worries were humans shit happens, all we gotta do is suck it up and release at the right moment."
We stand in silence just staring at each other.
We both dont move just stare and breathe softly.
Nothing else.
Im so tempted to just go up to him and give him ki-
"Goodnight then?"
I clear my throat, shaking the thoughts out of my head.
"Ya, um, goodnight I guess."
We end up switching sides, him coming back to his room and me to the guest room.
I give him one last smile and turns around, enter the room, and slam the door shut.
Nothing happened, but somehow it felt like something did.
I clear the thoughts and walk towards the bathroom to brush my teeth and rinse my face with cold water, maybe that could help.
—————
Agh!
Ive been tossing and turning for an hour and a half and still cant get an ounce of sleep.
I look at the digital clock and see it's 2:30 AM. Surely Nathans asleep.
Even though I know he is, I still step out of my room and walk towards his.
I don't bother knocking and just open the door and close it softly behind me.
"You know it's rude to just walk into the room. What if I was naked right now?"
"Then that'll be a sight for sore eyes."
I slowly walk toward his bed, trying to avoid tripping or walking into something.
"Why you still up?" He asks.
"Because I couldn't sleep. How about you?"
"Couldn't sleep either."
"What? Too busy thinking about me?"
He chuckles, "In your dreams."
I finally read the bead and climb onto in, somehow managing to get on the side Nathan wasn't sleeping on.
"Who invited you to my bed exactly?"
"Myself. Although I must say, you have quite a comfy bed."
He groans in annoyance.
"Just get out of my room."
"I want to cuddle, though," I whine in an annoyingly high pitched voice.
"Cuddle the pillows that are supplied in your suite."
"Don't be such a party pooper. I promise I won't hog the blankets. Please?" I try to sound very sad and make him feel bad.
He sigh. Yes! thats the sigh of giving in!
"I swear if the blankets don't cover my whole of I open my eyes once again, I'm dragging you back out. Clear?"
"Crystal, Goodnight!"
He only grunts in response turning the opposite side I am.
Rude!
I ignore him and close my eyes and sleep slowly takes over.
I hope tomorrow isn't as hectic as today.
------------
I have a question, where are you guys from?
