《The Buisnessman》Chapter 5 (Peter)

I come walking out of my bedroom with the worst headache to see Mallory sitting in the kitchen with Aunt May. Great! She really doesn't get it. She can take any hint I throw at her. I start to turn around to head back to my room.

"Peter get back in here," Aunt May calls. I sigh and head back to the kitchen.

"You're grounded," Aunt May says.

"What?!" I exclaimed. What did Mallory tell her?

"Where were you today Peter? What were you doing?" Aunt May asked. I tried to think back to what happened. I remember that I tried calling Harrison but I haven't heard anything from him. I remember I was going to see Mrs. Osborn.

"I went to see Mrs. Osborn," I said.

"Yes, and what did you do there?" May asked.

I tried to think but I couldn't remember. All I know is I blacked out.

"I don't remember," I said.

"Exactly! Mallory found you hacking into private files on the Osborn's computer. Mrs. Osborn wasn't too happy and Mallory some how managed to knock you out and bring you home. Mrs. Osborn wants to talk with you but that's not happening because you're now grounded and I really don't like her. You are not allowed to leave this house without me or someone else with you. Is that understood?" May asked. She was furious at me.

"What? But I don't ne-"

"Is that understood Peter?" May asked again. I quietly sigh under my breath.

"Yes."

"Now I think you and Mallory have some talking to do. I have errands to run. I'll be back soon," May says and leaves the apartment. I turn and walk into my room and Mallory follows. I closed the door behind her.

"What the hell was that?" I asked.

"Peter I really don't know what you're talking about," she replied.

"Ugh! What was I really doing at the Osborn's?" I asked.

"You were looking for Harry."

"Yes but I know I wasn't hacking into their computer."

"Peter, how would you know? You were knocked out!"

"Yeah? And how did that really happen? I know it wasn't a hit to my head, otherwise I would feel it!"

"Then why do you keep rubbing your dang head so much?!" Mallory's voice began to raise. I raised mine in return. That was the last straw.

"Maybe because I'm tired of you not catching all the hints!"

"What the hell is that supposed to mean Peter?"

"It means that you just forgot about me. You gave up on me!" I yelled. There was a long silence between us.

"Peter, I don't understand."

"Obviously. What happened between us Mallory?"

"I don't know."

"One day I wake up out of a coma to find out that the person I really liked was dating my best friend! I became the third wheel. I thought were were going to be so close that I could call you mine but that was all thrown away when I was in a freaking coma. It only felt like a day to me but for you, it was 5 months. Five easy months for you to move on and find a better relationship, because I couldn't give you that-"

"Peter! You really think those 5 months were easy for me?! I loved you! I never gave up on you! I still love you but I love Harry more. I cried for weeks and I didn't leave your side. Harry was there with me the whole time. He helped me bring myself back to reality. I couldn't just sit there and watch you everyday, not knowing if you would be okay. If you ever had feelings for me you would have understood that!"

"Well, then maybe it's a good thing we never worked out!"

"I can't believe you just said that Parker! I thought we were friends!"

"Friends don't lie to each other when they get knocked out! Friends don't create third wheels! Friends don't give up on each other!"

"Maybe because your friends are trying to protect you! I'm so sick of this Peter! I don't know why it had to come to this! You could have just told me!"

"I don't need protecting! You could have taken the hint!" I get up and open my bedroom door. I put on my shoes and grab my jacket.

"Where are you going?"

"Anywhere away from you!"

"Peter you're not allowed to leave without someone."

"Watch me," I slammed the front door shut. I grabbed my bike. I could hear Mallory coming after me.

"Peter Parker! You get your ass back in this apartment now!"

"Make me!" I yelled and I biked away. I was steaming. I biked at full speed through the streets of Manhattan. I stopped when I reached an empty bridge. It was 8pm. I realized I had been biking for an hour. I had missed calls from May and Mallory. I ignored them. I found a bench to the side of the small bridge. I set my bike down and sat on the bench.

What happened to me? What have I done? Mallory was one of my best friends and I was hurt. I didn't have to act like that... I guess. But I was upset that she didn't see things how I did. I was mad that she didn't understand. I loved her so much. I'm sure she'll never want to see or talk to me ever again. That's okay with me. Every time I see her gorgeous face, a small part of me dies, knowing that I can't have her. I'm happy for Harry. I'm happy that he's with a great person. I just wish she was mine. I finally had cooled down from my ranting.

I was such a jerk. That wasn't Peter Parker. What really happened to me?

"Peter?" I froze. I turned around to see Harry standing behind me.
