I'm having a day to myself and it honestly everything that I need. Colin is working and after work he will pick up Rose from school to go out and eat. Y/n my oldest is at school and have a game after so she won't be home until late.
I love them all to bits and pieces but I have been working a lot as well as trying to be a good mom and wife so I just needed this little break
As soon as they all left this morning I made myself breakfast before I got back in bed and continued to read my book.
When the book was done I ordered take out because why cook when you can order. I ate as I watched a movie and when the movie was over I decided on a warm bath and a glass of wine
The I was back on the couch with some snacks and movie two and three. I knew y/n would be home soon but she is a teenager and loves her alone time so she would probably say hi and then walk to her room
But boy was I wrong.
I could hear her drop her bike outside of the door. Then the door flew open and please shut with a bang making me sit up straight. Her bag was dropped on the floor before she stormed up the stairs and slammed her door shut
I paused my movie and made my way out into the hall. I picked her bag up and put it on the chair standing there
I then slowly walked up to her room knocking on her door. She didn't open or respond so I knocked again. Yet again no answer so I slowly opened the door to find out that she was showering in her bathroom. So I sat down on her bed and waited

20 minutes later she came out head down, hair still dripping wet and in a par of sweatpants and a hoodie that was way to big for her
She dropped the towel on the floor and fell on the bed not even looking at me. I sighed and stood up to pick the towel up. I sat down next to her and got her to sit up after some complaints
I dried her hair as she just laid with her head in my lap. When I was done I put to towel to the side and started to braided her shoulders length hair like I used to do when she was little
"Want to talk about it" I asked after a few minutes of silence. She didn't answer for a few seconds but then spoke up
"It was my turn to be in goal and everything was just bad" There goalkeeper got injured a few weeks ago and after that everyone has to take turns to stand in goal because no one really wants to. "We played like shit and sure we lose sometimes but I let 9 goals in. Last time someone scored more the four goals was two years ago. I just feel like shit. It was my fault and I could have don't better and"
"Nothing. And nothing. You did your best and they won't ask for more from you. You play as a team. Eleven players on the field. It wasn't your lone fault that they scored nine goals. I know I wasn't there. Probably because you don't want we there but it wasn't your fault. Now I want to see a smile on your face as you leave this behind you and look forward to the next game. Yea?" She sat up and pulled my into a hug. Ut was nice. We haven't hugged in a while. It isn't easy with a teenage kid who things they can do anything and don't did there mom
"You're the best" She whispered pulling me closer. Those three words almost made my cry but I held it together as we hugged. "I love you. Even tho I might not show it all the time"
"I love you too. I know how it is. I was a teenager once to you know" I said with a smile as we pulled away
"I can't imagine you as a teenager" She said with a smiling sitting next to me resting her head on my shoulder as we both sat against her head board
"You don't want to imagine me as a teenager. I did some stupid stuff"

"I'm not going to tell you all the wrong stuff I did"
"Well then I would know not to do them" She said raising her eyebrow making me chuckle as I went on to tell her about my . Let me tell you she was surprised but we also laugh and I can't remember last time we actually talked about something other then work, school, soccer or what was happening the same week
It was really nice and I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my alone day with my 16 year old daughter who tomorrow probably will see me as the boring mom again
