《The Power of the Moon》PART 48

The Uchiha was suddenly surrounded by four rogue nin.
Who had known that a peaceful walk outside the village's borders would result in this already?
Either way, Madara was growing annoyed and hauty. He had wished to spend the morning in peace, and in more contemplation about his next actions, but he had been interrupted by them.
"You four should take your leave now." Madara scanned each of them. How pathetic, Madara thought to himself as he scoffed.
"If you hand us a forbidden scroll from the Leaf, we will leave you alone."
Leave me alone? Madara narrowed his eyes. Did they really think they stood a chance before him? They obviously did not know who Madara was.
"And if I choose not to?" Madara decided to test them a bit.
"We will have no choice but to kill you." Another muffled voice through a mask spoke, withdrawing his katana.
"Kill me?" The Uchiha absolutely amused by their choice of words.
"Mm." Another mumbled.
Madara closed his eyes, gathering his chakra.
"I can't say that I will do the same. What adult goes full force on mere children?" Madara flared his sharingan. One of them moved fast on their feet, but Madara was quicker. The Uchiha gracefully struck a couple of punches in his torso, paralyzing his breathing, and took the chance to parry a couple more attacks on the other three rogue nin.
It didn't even take a minute, yet their bodies laid down on the ground.
Madara stared at his fists, he had been bleeding. His wife would worry.
-
Madara stood outside in the porch, soaking his bleeding knuckles in warm water. It didn't take too long until he heard a familiar shuffling approach.
"Madara!" Ayumi exclaimed, reaching her hands out to him.
"Ayumi." Madara felt a warmth regrow in his chest, now slowly translating into a small smile on his face. She had been his last beacon of hope. "Worried already in the morning. Take it easy."

Ayumi sighed, of course he hadn't been hurt. Madara had been wrapping his hands.
"Rogue nin I'm guessing?"
Madara nodded, continuing his actions.
-
Madara's eyes were dull as he looked at his friend. Hashirama didn't know what to say, he was especially reluctant right now.
"I heard what happened..." Hashirama crossed his arms as a worried expression grew on his face.
Madara was indifferent though, barely moved by Hashirama's words. The Uchiha instead decided to remain silent, his heart was slowly becoming more hardened as days passed. His descent into darkness especially as an Uchiha, some may say, was quite inevitable. The growing dissent towards the Uchiha and especially towards Madara was becoming apparent to everyone. Madara had known that Ayumi had been especially tolerant of all the slander she had to deal with as a price to being with Madara, and it was a true testament of her loyalty to him.
"Izuna succumbed to the wounds he received from battle during that clash with Tobirama." Madara spoke, breaking the silence. The corners of his lips turned down as the thought of his brother crossed his mind.
"Madara. My friend. I am sorry." Hashirama frowned, stepping forward. "I will speak to Tobirama about the Uchiha-"
But Madara quickly interrupted his friend, waving a dismissive hand in the air. "We both know that will not work out."
'Madara..." Hashirama furrowed his eyebrows, reaching out for his hurting friend. Madara was angry, and Hashirama could see it, even though the Uchiha's expression did not flinch to show it.
Madara saw his friend's defeated state, and for a slight second a sliver of hope grew in his heart when he thought about his unborn child and his wife. "Do what you can about Tobirama in the mean time. And stop sulking." Madara ordered Hashirama.
-
Madara had just gotten done with his paperwork, and now the two had been relaxing out on the porch as the sun was setting. Ayumi and Madara would often spend their evenings like this, in the comfort of each others's company while enjoying a cup of tea. They would talk about the future, ambitions they had for their respective clans, new jutsu, history, or just plain contemplation.

But Ayumi was no fool. Something was definitely wrong with her husband, and she could sense it, though his face did not express it for a mere second.
Ayumi eyed the rim of her cup. Time had definitely passed and she grew only more obvious, her eyes cast down to her protruding belly, and her swollen feet that had been hanging off of the edge of the porch.
"Are you well?" Madara broke their silence. Ayumi hummed reassuringly, taking another sip of her tea.
"Thankfully so, but..." She thought of his passed family members, "How are you holding up?" He would little grief in front of her, but she knew that the times Madara was by himself, his family was all he would think of.
The question hung in the air for a minute or so.
Madara had known what she had meant, and the thought of his family struck something unfamiliar in his heart. It was hatred - wrath. And he felt a resentment growing towards the Senju for it.
"Such is life." Madara said rather coldly, his eyes didn't move an inch as he looked straight ahead. "Lives are often sacrificed, and traded for another." He turned his gaze to eye her belly.
Ayumi didn't understand why, but it made her feel uncomfortable. Madara's eyes met hers now, they stagnantly both stared at each other.
That rage Madara was feeling deep down in his chest slowly diminished whenever he looked at his wife, and it made him hesitate.
How would Madara be able to bring himself to tell her that he planned to leave the village, as the Uchiha had no hope?
"Madara?" Ayumi's voice had brought him back to reality.
"Ayumi." Madara placed his hand on her back, and she relaxed often under his touch. She smiled. "The evening is quiet. Would you like to walk?" Madara offered.
Ayumi nodded in agreement, "Mm."
-
The couple both stood on the edge of a clifftop, looking down at the waterstream hundreds of feet below them.
Ayumi sighed, relaxing her shoulders. "I feel like all my problems go away when I see the water sway." She spoke.
Madara looked at his wife. He had understood what she meant, because during Madara's free time he would often come out here to contemplate. But Madara's eyes were a different colour now. A deeper red, bearing a different pattern.
"Madara. Your eyes!" Ayumi spoke shockingly, leaning forward inspecting their new pattern.
"Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan." Madara muttered. Her eyes were strikingly white in comparison to his, and he could have sworn he could see his sharingan reflect on her orbs.
"How beautiful." She stared deeply. But her lips mulled into a thin line when she figured out where his eyes came from.
"Izuna's parting gift." Madara looked ahead into the water. She nodded, expecting to hear that.
"Ayumi." He said her name more sternly than usual, causing her to knit her eyebrows in concern.
"What is on your mind, anata?"
Madara was unsure how to come forth to his wife, no one would ever make him hesitate the way she would.
Madara turned so that his torso faced hers, and she did so vice versa.
"I am leaving the village."

Sweetleaf Cultivation
If you’re reading this. Not cool Dude! Or Dudette. Hashtag Resist. Seriously though, it’s not nice to read other people's diaries. Yes, it's a diary, kind of. The only men who call their diaries journals have an issue with their own masculinity I think. Well, I guess I can’t be too angry, considering if this is in anyone else’s hands I’m probably dead. Or I lost it. I lose stuff a lot. Since you’re here, regardless of the reason, I guess I’ll tell my story, such as it is. I know, why tell my story when I could tell you about the Fall of Killianor, or the story of when Micha the Bold banded together with his underdog group of misfits to destroy the Pallantine Regime. Hell, even the tale of Tulsa and Gran’s star crossed love affair would probably be better. If you don’t think so after finishing this you more than likely have poor taste. Weird taste, at any rate. Hello RR! Welcome to the greatest work of fiction you will ever read! ... .... Did you believe that? Cause its not. At all. This is my first work that I will have published in any fashion, and to be completely honest is more to gain practice for my real story. That is not to say I do not care about it. I do. I will do my best to finish it in, if not satisying, at least a conclusive manner. I will warn you however that updates will be infrequent at best though chapter length will not be under 2000 words. I work third shift currently, and at over 40 hours a week I do not have much time to really devote to this at the moment. I DO have an outline for the novel complete, but currently only about 5 actual chapters written and edited. There will be mistakes, including grammar and continuity, plot holes, etc.. If you see these please either comment or feel free to message me directly, and I will get it updated asap. Aside from a fledgeling authors mishaps, expect to find a somewhat comedic slice of life, with a mish mash of xianxia and western fantasy themes, tropes and the like. There will be some gore, network tv levels of sexuality, and absolutely no harems. There will also be COPIUS amount of swearing and drug use and while I said there would be no harems already he may find people in polyamorous situations. I hope you enjoy this, and as a last aside I beg of you not to rate it super low without justification, and if you give a bad rating please leave an actual review so that i know what I need to work on. *Original cover as of 09/01/20. Mishmash of stock photos and edits. HAVE FUN!

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
