We were designed to be together.

But fated to never meet.

A course of opportunity made us one.

Because destiny is a hopeless romantic.

May my love reach you and carry on without me.

My mind is sick from years of poison, so forgive me.

For a sick gardener can not tend to his flower.

As expected within the ignorance and bliss Ambrosia found comfort in Elias' arms. They slept together once again which only left Ambrosia restless.

She stared at the ceiling her naked body wrapped in Elias' arms.

She turned to face his chest and Elias responded by rubbing the side of her waist gently in his light slumber.

Ambrosia stared at his face her mind racing, she didn't want to admit it but she felt safe with him.

Elias' curly hair covered his eyes as he slept and Ambrosia reached to move them to the side.

Elias mumbled and moved one hand to his face before going still.

Ambrosia looked over his pale skin and spotted dark bruises across his chest and on his upper stomach.

Ambrosia touched him gingerly wondering how she didn't see them before.

Elias winced and his hand snapped to her wrist, his eyes were open and were focused heavily on Ambrosia as if he couldn't remember who he lay with.

He frowned and tightened his grip for a moment before letting go.

Elias planted a kiss on her forehead and lethargically rubbed her back.

"Sleep flower," he muttered.

His sleepy voice was nice to Ambrosia but left her conflicted.

Guilt

It hit Ambrosia as clearly as the sun glistening through the window with curtains drawn across from her.

She stretched out her body along the length of the bed and felt around, her heart sank.

She was alone.

Ambrosia sat up and bit her lip looking around the room. His clothes were gone. She forced herself up and rubbed her face sorely before wrapping herself in a fuzzy robe.

She paused as she noticed the faint sound of running water that could be heard from the bathroom.

Ambrosia poked her head in to see a tall figure standing in the shower. She tried to suppress her smile as she crept towards the steamy glass and opened the door.

Elias stood under the shower his head hanging and his toffee brown hair elongated over his face. Ambrosia slipped her robe off and joined him closing the door. She pulled her shower cap over her head she had hung inside and peered up at him.

Elias lifted his head and took both hands smoothing his hair back.

"Hi baby," he cooed.

Ambrosia's eyes widened as blood, ran from his nose and down his chin; she touched his cheek.

"Elias your nose, what happened?"

"It's nothing, I just sneezed too hard."

Elias leaned his head back and let the water pour on him.

Ambrosia squinted at him and grabbed the bar of soap from the nook in the wall.

She couldn't help glancing at his lightly toned body looming over her and dripping with water onto her as she lathered.

Her eyes moved down his strained neck, chest and lower abdomen.

"Are you done...?" Elias questioned.

Ambrosia felt her cheeks grow hot and she looked down at the drain.

"...with the soap, flower."

Ambrosia handed him the soap and switched places with him.

"What are those bruises from?" She questioned.

Elias stopped rubbing soap on him and faced Ambrosia, his nose was still bleeding heavily.

"It's a secret," Elias said in a joking tone.

Ambrosia did not laugh, instead, she poked him.

"Elias I'm worried about you-and hold your nose," Ambrosia proclaimed reaching for his face.

"You're worried about me, really?" Elias chuckled grabbing her and pulling her close.

"Elias-"

"I fell."

"Liar."

Elias' face scrunched up and released as if he was cast under some spell. He pushed her up against the wall and kissed her cheek.

"I just got into a fight with this guy."

"Really," Ambrosia said unimpressed.

"Yes, well It was my job."

"What do you mean your job?"

"You look gorgeous," Elias slurred wiping his nose again, he teetered slightly and caught his balance with the wall.

"Are you okay?" Ambrosia snapped to which Elias snickered.

"I'm just happy to be here with you" he chuckled bashfully his extremely dilated eyes glimmering through the steam.

"Wow you look great with water on you flower."

"Oh yeah?" Ambrosia chuckled placing her hands on his chest.

"Yeah," he breathed before leaning his head into her neck and licked the droplets of water off her skin. Ambrosia tilted her chin to the side and closed her eyes as his hands eagerly roamed her body.

She arched her back on the cold tile as his hand slipped in between her thighs and lifted her leg up. Elias rubbed their lower halves together and groaned nipping her shoulder and sucking in his love-bites.

Ambrosia moaned softly unsure of what to make out of Elias' sudden urges. Elias rubbed his length against her teasingly and Ambrosia grabbed him suddenly.

Their eyes met and Ambrosia pursed her lips in enjoyment as she rubbed him up and down. She watched intently as he moaned louder as she went faster.

"Mmf..." Elias panted throwing his head back letting his voice to grow louder. He grumbled curses huskily over Ambrosia begging to let him into her. Ambrosia only told him to wait as she stopped to let him hunch over her in anticipation.

Elias raised her leg up with one hand and guided himself him, he thrusted into her roughly and bit down her upper shoulder causing Ambrosia to let out a mixed emotion moan.

Elias licked her collar bone and whispered little dirty words against her dripping wet skin. He pulled her leg up higher to squeeze her behind as he increased the intensity and the sound of skin against skin rose higher than the splashing within the shower.

They both took their climax with each other and ended with a long kiss.

Ambrosia moved around him to wash off then opened the shower door to get out and grab a towel. Elias got out soon after but changed in the bathroom.

She walked into the walk-in closet and grabbed a grey shirt and long pants. Her legs wobbled slightly from the tingling Elias had left her from the shower and Ambrosia fiddled with her thick hair as she realized that they hadn't used any protection.

I feel fine though.

She dismissed the thoughts and changed.

Ambrosia walked out into the bedroom and started to put on her socks and boots on. While she pulled them on she spotted Elias coat laying in a corner.

Ambrosia picked it up and turned to place it on a chair but two objects fell hard to the ground under her with a thud.

Ambrosia gaped at the objects that had revealed themselves and threw the coat aside.

Ambrosia squatted down to touch the objects.

A hand-gun and a bag about the size of her hand filled with white powder. Her heart started to beat faster as she took up the gun and bag in her hands.

What...how?!

"You're in a rush," Elias' smooth voice sliced it's way through Ambrosia's frantic mind from behind. Her heart jumped and thumped dangerously loud within her. She stood to run but was frozen as his steps neared her, she shook with anticipation and hung her head in defeat.

Elias slipped his arms around her waist and kissed the back of Ambrosia's neck. The scent of rosewood filled her nose.

"Baby you're shaking."

"I-"

Ambrosia felt him tense up behind her and he sighed deeply for he had seen the things she held clutched within her smooth brown hands.

"If I let you go will you let me explain," Elias whispered.

"Why should I trust you?"

"I never said you had too."

Ambrosia nodded slowly and felt him release her, she turned around and gazed at him in disbelief.

"Is this what I think it is?" Ambrosia questioned.

"If you're thinking cocaine, then yes."

Ambrosia scoffed looking at the contents and then back at Elias who had plugged his nose with paper and watched her blankly.

"I promise you the cocaine isn't mine."

"But I found it in your coat!"

Elias shoved his hands into his pockets and and shook head.

"I took it from the guy but it's not mine, I swear," he insisted.

"What, oh let me guess, the guy you fought with."

Elias nodded solemnly.

Ambrosia stared back at him. "Your nose, you took some this morning?"

Elias rubbed the bridge of his nose as it scrunched up in pain.

"The pain Ambrosia, I don't have any medication left," Elias said hoarsely.

"The gun is it yours?!"

Elias paused and nodded again. His hands now clasped tightly his knuckles became white. Then as if he knew what she was going to ask next he spoke.

"Ambrosia this is all more complicated than you know-"

"Are you part of the mafia?" Ambrosia asked, "Explain yourself!"

"No Ambrosia, I work for your Aunt, Tania."

"W-what do you do?"

Elias' eyes flashed around the room as if the answers were written along the walls and he chuckled to himself before focusing back on Ambrosia. He embraced her and held his face into her soft cloud of hair.

"You smell so good."

"Elias!"

"Hm?"

"Just take it and go." Ambrosia breathed as she began to grow tired of resisting.

"Flower, I'm sorry," Elias sniffled, "Baby I said I'm sorry-"

Ambrosia held her breath, the only thing she could think about was the two objects that were pressed between them and the danger that was within them.

"Ambro-"

"I heard now leave," Ambrosia said coldly.

Elias let go of her and took the cocaine and gun slipping them back into his coat that he had swiftly put back on.

"I love you." His face was bright but also held an odd balance of truthfulness.

"Okay."

"Do you love me?"

"I-I don't know."

Ambrosia looked at the young man in front of her bewildered.

"What about last night," Elias retorted his face flushed in heat.

"I thought you were different, but you-Elias I can't answer you when you're like this."

"So you think that envelope has the evidence to all you questions and will give you your truth and justice?" Elias asked before laughing.

Ambrosia opened her mouth but said nothing.

Elias grumbled and ran his fingers through his hair before putting on his coat.

"I love you Ambrosia and know that I will never stop loving you not matter what you do to me or think of me," Elias proclaimed his chest heaved in air as if he had been running.

He reached in his pocket and set a small journal on the bed. The one Ambrosia had seen him writing in the night of their first meeting.

"I hope one day you'll be able to make sense of what is really happening."

The door closed and Elias was gone.

Is love a curse?
