Elias POV

Disgusting.

I grimaced as I tasted the bitter chocolate that was hard and cold against my tongue.

I snatched up the heart-shaped box along with the carefully placed card and flung it across my room.

I had just finished my shower and water dripped from my body. I wiped myself down and put on a shirt and some sweatpants.

I let out a hard sigh before walking into the bathroom to spit out the horrible taste that roamed my mouth.

I gripped the edge of the counter and gazed at the mirror.

I was genuinely surprised, Ambrosia was more trouble than I had hoped for.

Finding a box of chocolates and a letter in the mail did not grab my interest, however, the fact they were addressed to Ambrosia made a little uneasy.

So I took it upon myself to check the contents, to see if this Dante, had gotten gifts fit for my flower.

Dante must have been the person she was talking to on the phone earlier when I was watching her.

His overly common gesture was repulsive.

I was only upset because he professed his...attraction to Ambrosia in the simplest way.

It was definitely not because I was jealous.

Of course, not.

I grabbed a towel to wipe my mouth and smirked slightly. Thoughts of Ambrosia slipped through my mind, her voice, her face, her body.

The way she acted during the party early that night was addicting. I never loved getting a reaction from someone as much as I did with her. The way she kissed me, the way she gripped me.

That had to mean something...right?

I stared at my reflection, although it was just a flipped image of me. It seemed different.

My mind had taken form into my reflection just to mock me!

She is too good for you.

Shut up.

Your just an animal, running on primal instincts.

Shut up.

A greedy bastard, always wanting what you can't have.

Shut the hell up!

I romantic psy-

"I said shut up!" I barked, my hand came crashing into the glass in front of me.

Shit!

Nice work genius.

I grabbed my towel and wrapped it around my hand that was now cut and dripping blood. I stood silently looking at my crooked reflection within the broken glass. That wasn't too loud.

I hear a door open and close down the hallway. I crept out quietly and walked down the hall.

Was it Ambrosia?

Maybe I could speak to her, for a bit!

Your hand.

I froze in my tracks and turned slowly around until I hear another voice came from her room.

I swiftly moved to the side to listen.

"I thought you said you cared for our grandmother!"

It was Ivy.

"I do..." Ambrosia's sweet voice replied.

"Really, so making out at her reception party is caring?"

"Ivy it was nothing like that!"

"Then what were you doing with Elias!" Ivy cried out.

Ambrosia quickly scolded her for her high tone and groaned.

"It-it was just one kiss."

"That's why you have you hickeys right?"

"You wouldn't understand Ivy, I was drunk and at the moment it felt right," Ambrosia replied, "just please don't tell dad."

Ivy went silent and an opening of a drawer and some paper being shuffled could be heard.

"Fine, on one condition....you help me investigate Grandmother Hill's death."

The room went silent, and only the sound of writing could be heard. I removed myself from my place from the wall and soundlessly crept down the stairs.

How poisonous Ivy was, putting uncanny ideas into my flowers little head.

Ha, Poison Ivy.

Ivy wrote something down on the paper in front of Ambrosia.

"This is the number for the private investigator I looked up, he's a retired operator, but I can't hire him myself...I'm underage."

Ambrosia looked down at the slip of paper and raised her eyebrows.

"So you want me to just call this guy and that's it?" Ambrosia questioned.

"You and I, will being doing our own intensive research...on everyone in this house," Ivy said confidently.

Ambrosia chuckled and shook her head.

"Ivy, this isn't some T.V. show, this is serious!"

Ivy's face darkened instantly and she stood up from the chair she was resting in.

"And I'm serious, Ambrosia."

With that the teenage girl left to room, she left Ambrosia to consider her choices carefully.

Ambrosia stripped out of her dress and took a shower before putting on warm pajamas. She walked downstairs to grab some water and found a figure rummaging through the drawers, and beside it a woman.

"I'm fine, I said."

"You're going to have to see the doctor again-"

"Hello?" Ambrosia spoke.

The conversation stopped and the woman turned and smiled, it was Mrs. Henway. The figure, who was Elias, paused for a second then continued the search.

"Ambrosia, you are still up?"

Ambrosia shrugged and smiled opening the refrigerator. She grabbed a bottle of water and turned back to see Mrs. Henway looking at her with a weary smile.

"Is everything okay?" Ambrosia questioned finding interest in what Elias was up to.

Mrs. Henway wrapped her purple robe around her body and tilted her head towards her son.

"My beloved son decided to slip in the bathroom, and bust his hand in the mirror," Mrs. Henway stated.

Elias turned around, his hand wrapped in a cloth, he eyed his mother.

Ambrosia opened her bottle of water and smiled to herself taking a sip.

"Well, the first-aid kit is in the cabinet," she said pointing up to a cabinet above her head.

"Thanks..." Elias replied softly walking passed her to get the cabinet. Ambrosia caught his shirt discretely.

"Hope you're okay."

Elias smiled and grabbed the kit brushing his shoulders against her own.

"Of course," he whispered.

Ambrosia stared at him and blinked out of his spell to wave at his mother who was fiddling with a glass of wine.

"I'll be going now, good night," Ambrosia said.

"Good night, dear."

Ambrosia left the two in the kitchen and returned to her room, she was getting comfortable in her grandmother's room finally.

She was finally getting used to the house, that was a relief.
