《More Than You Realize》Chapter 47: Powerhouse

I was scared beyond belief. I could hear the fighting and the screams... but everything seemed like it wasn't real. It seemed like all of this is just my imagination. However, I knew every event was real and deadly.
I wanted to help... I needed to help, but my body was too weak to do much of anything right now.
"Just give me back my Sabre, and everything will be FINE!" Krill yelled. I felt a burst of energy course past me. I'm guessing Krill was the source of the energy.
I heard my friends and brother cry out as they flew past me, making me open my closed eyes. They were all thrown to the other side of the room.
I looked up only to come face to face with Krill and his insane smirk.
"I got you now~" he sang. I gulped down my fear.
"No!" I yelled before extending me hand towards him. A wave of energy shot him back against the other side of the room. I looked to my hands before face palming. "I have powers. What am I doing?"
I quickly used my abilities to heal my sore body. I jumped up and ran over to my friends and brother.
"Sabre? What are you doing?" Ty questioned as I helped him up.
"Helping you guys. Don't forget, I have powers as well," I said. They all smiled at me.
"Imbeciles!" Krill exclaimed. I turned to face him. "Do you really believe you have defeated me? Do you really think you can defeat me? You are dead wrong! My plans will succeed and I will have my Sabre back!"
Void Steve questioned. I looked over to Krill once again as he let more power surge throughout his body.
Krill let out another evil laughter before bringing the orb into our view.
"This is the object that will give me all of my desires! Since you were so gracious in giving it up, I might as well return the favor," Krill said manically.
Suddenly, the orb glowed a dangerous form of red. Everyone took a step or two back and away from the red light. Krill, however, was incased in the bright light. It engulfed his body.
"He's consuming himself in the power!" I yelled.
As if on cue, the bright light exploded from where Krill stood and knocked all of us back a little bit. We all covered our eyes so that we wouldn't get blinded.
Slowly, I was the first to uncover my eyes. I looked over to Krill to see what had happened, and my jaw almost hit the ground.
Krill looked the same, except the black part of his eyes were now red and the white pupils were black. His veins emitted a red light that made it look like Krill's body was falling part. Of course, maybe it was. He did look completely insane.
"What do you think, my Sabre? Am I insane looking enough to be a yandere?" Krill asked.
"You looked insane enough before, now you're just even more of a monster," I replied with a slight growl. He let out an evil chuckle from my response.

"Perfect~ I can feel the power. The energy! It's overwhelming and it feels great!" Krill chuckled.
Void Steve mumbled in fear.
"You won't win, Krill! We will do everything in our power to make sure you don't succeed!" Jake yelled as he charged up some energy in his hands. "And we will start with this!"
At that moment, Jake releases the energy and launched it towards Krill.
The energy was enough to knock him back. Krill growled.
"You know, I'm growing tired of this little game," Krill growled before forming his own weapon out of thin air. He swung the blade around a couple of times, letting a black red aura trail the movements of it.
I formed a sword out of fire and swung it around a few times like Krill, allowing a fiery trail to follow the movements.
"You know, I grow tired of this game as well. I'm sick of being used as some sort of pawn. So, please, Krill... allow me to finish this game," I growled before letting all of my powers flow through me.
I took on my "Ultimate Form" and took my chance to launch some of my powers at Krill while he stared in shock.
"What's the matter, Krill? Didn't expect a sudden wardrobe change?" I taunted. Krill growled.
"A new wardrobe won't matter. Power is everything!" Krill exclaimed. He launched some more of his energy at us, so I quickly defected it.
"Guys, you all get ready to combine your energy into one attack. I'll distract Krill while you all do so. Then, I'll combine my own energy and we will launch together," I said before heading to attack Krill.
Krill and I began to launch multiple attacks in between clashing our swords.
"Face the facts, Sabre. In the end, you will lose and you will be mine. I am the most powerful being to ever live. You and your friends can't defeat me," Krill growled as our swords clashed once again.
We kept our swords where they were and kept pushing against the other's blade. My pure red and yellow eyes watched Krill closely through the clashing blades.
"You can think that all you want, Krill. Deep down, you know that I will prevail in the end. I always have, and I always will," I growled back. "Now, how about let's get the real game started."
I used some of my energy to force Krill and his blade away from me.
Afterwards, I darted back towards my friends and brother. All of their energy was combined into a ball of energy. Kylie even threw one of her most dangerous potions in there as well.
"Ready when you are," Jake said with a smirk. I smirked myself.
I began to combine all of my energy into the ball and increase its power and size.
"Launch it on my mark, okay?" I yelled since the energy was making this loud ringing noise. Everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
I kept forcing my energy into the ball and watched as if grew in size.

"Get ready," I said jumping behind the ball of energy. I aimed it at the pained Krill collapsed and shaking against the wall. "Get set," I said placing my hands on the energy. It burned my hands a little bit, but I didn't mind. "NOW!"
We all launched the energy at Krill just as he began to recover and stand up. He just so happened to look at the oncoming attack just as he neared him. We all heard him call out in shock as the attack got even closer. Then, BAM!
The energy pushed Krill against the wall even more and exploded once it did.
"Awesome!" Kylie exclaimed happily. I smiled as I looked back to her.
"Why must you guys constantly get in my way! I'm growing tired of my plans failing because of what you guys do. Stop making me FAIL!" Krill shouted before pressing a button on some sort of console.
Suddenly, a loud alarm erupted in the room. The room flashed red from some lights that had turned on whenever he hit the button.
"Uh... what's going on?" Ty questioned as his voice raised in panic. Krill's laughter managed to overtake the blaring alarm.
"Something tells me this fight is about to get more hectic," I said loudly to make my voice pass the alarm.
"Hahahahahah!" Krill's chuckle was an insane one. I couldn't believe the orb had given him this much insanity.
"Guys, we have to find a way to get that orb away from Krill. That's what making him go insane," I said before firing a stream of water at Krill. He, easily, dodged the oncoming attack. "I'm open to suggestions here!"
Krill began to launch some corrupted magic at me. I did whatever I could to dodge the attacks, but it was extremely hard to do.
I could see the others trying to figure out how to get the Relical Orb away from Krill. They were all giving each other the same confused looks and questioning mumbles.
"PLEASE HURRY!" I yelled as I punched the ground. A giant rock shot up out of the ground where Krill stood, taking in to the air.
"Grrrr... stop being so complicated, Sabre!" Krill exclaimed before launching some more attacks at me.
I dodged the attacks, but they became too much. As I went to dodge one attack, a different one hit me.
"AH!" I cried out as I felt the magic putting a bind around my body.
I winced in pain, closing my eyes tightly.
I barely opened one to see what was going on, onto to close it again while crying out in pain. Some sort of corrupted electricity coursed through my body. The pain was unbearable.
Finally, the electricity stopped, but I fell limp in the binding hold. My attire changed back to my blood-stained chicken onesie.
"SABRE!" Jake yelled.
I rolled my head over to see his rushing figure just before I was brought up next to Krill.
"Just give it up! I've won! I have all the power I could ever want, plus my lovely Sabre by my side. Just give up already! It doesn't matter what you do, I will win!" Krill exclaimed as he wrapped an arm around my body.
I winced at how tight he was holding me.
Void Steve exclaimed.
At that moment, the whole room began to shake. I looked around the room with my eyes halfway closed since I was recovering from the pain. I looked back down to Void Steve, who had this insane look in his eyes.
"V-Void Steve..." I mumbled, even though I knew I couldn't be heard from this distance.
"My my. This is really interesting," Krill chuckled.
Void Steve yelped before throwing his hand towards Krill.
Krill yelped in shock as he got thrown back against the wall. I was released from the bind holding me.
I landed on the ground, and shook my head to try and regain my balance.
Even though I was free from the bind, Void Steve was still losing it. His eyes flowed a menacing red, and his teeth were gritted together so hard In surprised they didn't chip or break.
"VOID STEVE! CALM DOWN!" I yelled before rushing over to him.
It was like he was in his own little world because he apparently didn't hear what I said.
"Void Steve!" I exclaimed once I reached him. Still nothing.
Finally, I hugged him tightly. I let a few tears fall from my eyes as I hugged him.
"Void Steve... please calm down..." I whispered sorrowfully in his ear.
Void Steve mumbled. I looked at his eyes.
They were still growing, but I could tell he was trying to calm down.
"I'm fine. Look at me. I'm here. Calm yourself," I chuckled while trying to shake him out of his trance.
His eyes twitched as he looked at my freed self. He closed his eyes for a moment before reopening them.
They were back to their normal red, and I could even feel the less amount of energy coming off of him. We hugged each other once he was fully calm.
"You feel better now?" I asked as we pulled away from the hug.
Void Steve chuckled.
"Grrrrrr... IM SICK OF YOU GUYS CONSTANTLY PUTTING ME DOWN!" Krill yelled angrily as he stood up against the wall.
We all looked over to him nervously.
He had one hand against the wall and his other hand extended out with the Relical Orb in his hand, tightly.
Both the orb and Krill began to glow with power. The room began to shake as Krill's eyes began to glow a dark red.
"THIS! ENDS! NOW!" Krill exclaimed before a burst of energy erupted in the room.

Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
