《More Than You Realize》Chapter 30: Helpful Allies

We've been wondering for hours upon hours. So far, we've come across some pigs, cows, sheep, and even another small village, but it was mainly filled with villagers.

"I'm tired!" Sabre complained once again. He's been complaining for a long time now. It was beginning to get annoying, Void Steve and I agreed.

"We all are. The quicker we move, the faster we can get things done," I replied looking back to him with a smirk. His frown left his face, only the be replaced by a small hint of happiness. I think the tiredness left.

Void Steve laughed silently, not wanting Sabre to here. I laughed a little bit.

"Eh, he's my brother. It's just a thing, I guess," I said.

"Uh... Jake? What's that thing?" Sabre asked. I looked back to see him pointing to the sky. I looked up to see some sort of weird magical mist in the sky above. I didn't reply; how are you suppose to reply when you don't know the answer to the question?

Void Steve mumbled.

"I have no clue what that thing is... BUT IT'S GETTING BIGGER!" I yelled as the most grew larger. All three of us were too terrified to move. Sabre clutched the back of my leg tightly, hiding from the mist.

Suddenly, just as it was getting ready to consume us, the most disappeared. We were all very confused by this.

"Oh my goodness! Are you three alright?!" a girl's voice exclaimed. We all flinched, not entirely expecting someone to be there like that.

Her hair was a weird mixture of purple and some sort of green. A blue bow kept part of her hair back into a ponytail. (She must have a lot of hair) She has pink eyes and, what looked like, blush on her cheeks. Her clothes were all dull shades of grey, black, and white. Then, there was her tail. It started off as the same green as her hair, then led into a purple (the same as her hair) for the tip.

Void Steve replied as he pointed to the three of us. The girl looked down to Sabre, and her eyes changed to hearts. Is that even physically possible? I don't think so.

"AWE~ WHO IS THIS CUTIE!" she exclaimed before picking up Sabre. I was afraid he would cry, or smack her away. To mine and Void Steve's shock, he just laughed.

"I'm Sabre!" he said cutely. Void Steve and I glanced at each other, noticing the weird behavior from Sabre. "I won't be like this much longer though! You see I'm suppose to be... uh..."

"Sxen," Void Steve and I said together.

"16!" Sabre continued. "We're going to go find someone to help me get back to normal!"

"Awe~ but you're so cute like this. Why can't you just stay like this! You'll live longer!" she exclaimed happily. She looked up to Void Steve and I. "What's with the scar?"

Void Steve flinched and tried to cover up the small bit of his new scar that was showing from under his hood.

he asked in a somewhat panic. Kylie raised an eyebrow and nodded her head.

"Yeah? What happened?" she asked again.

"We... shouldn't talk about that..." I said looking away. Kylie gave us both a weird look.

"Okay?" she said questionably. "So... why can't this cutie stay like this~" Okay, I think Kylie is bipolar.

"Because there's evil coming, and I must stop it. I have magical powers, but they don't work well with my younger self," Sabre replied as the girl placed him back down on the ground.

"Well... you've found the right person! Hi! I'm Kylie! I'm great with different potions, magic, spells... anything along those lines," Kylie said. She began to walk away from us, leaving all three of us confused. "Don't just stand there! Come on! I'll take you to my place!"

We were all hesitant, except for Sabre. He didn't waste time in following Kylie to wherever she was going. Void Steve and I sighed, then began following the strange girl.

Void Steve and I didn't talk much, and we didn't talk to Sabre or Kylie. They were busy talking to each other. She was trying to get every little piece of information about Sabre out of him. Where he was born, who his family was, all of that kind of stuff.

"Here we are!" Kylie exclaimed happily. I looked up upon the huge mountain. My mouth went to the ground.

"The highest point!" I exclaimed happily. She nodded her head.

"I'm guessing my Book of Enchantment found you," she said while flicking her hair back some. I nodded my head, happy that we were able to find this source of help. "Well, let's step inside. Everything we will need is inside."

Void Steve stated.

"Others? THERE'S MORE!!!" Kylie exclaimed with a twinkle in her eyes. I nodded my head, then brought the little device up to my face. I pressed the "screen". To my surprise, a holographic screen was displayed over the device.

"Okay, that's pretty neat," I commented before pressing a little phone icon on the holographic screen.

The screen turned blue with three blinking dots in the middle. A little ringing noise came from the screen. We all waited in silence.

Then, out of nowhere, Alex, Mary, Rainbow Steve and Galaxy Steve appeared on the screen. It took me by surprise, so I jumped a little bit. I couldn't help but smile afterwards, though.

"Alex, these things are neat! 10/10 my dude!" I said as Void Steve and Sabre came up behind/side of me. He laughed.

"Thank you, Jake. At least someone likes them," he growled looking back to Mary. She put her hands up in defense.

"What! They're too complicated for this generation!" she exclaimed. I could see the sparks fly between the siblings. Everyone of us laughed.

"Did you find what we need, Jake?" Rainbow Steve asked hopefully. I nodded my head. I was about to explain when Kylie just about ran us over to view the others.

"HI! I'm Kylie!" she exclaimed excitingly. Everyone jumped as she just barged into frame. "I'm the person you're looking for in order to help Sabre out!"

I flipped the camera around so everyone could see the tall mountain she lives on. All of them cheered.

"So... may I ask why it's the lowest point you can find?" Galaxy Steve questioned, leaving us all stumped. Kylie laughed.

"So? Is that what the book told you? Ah... it's just referring to my knowledge of common sense and my excessive amount of stupidity. That book needs to have better riddles..." Kylie said. I flipped the camera back around to talk directly with the others.

"Void Steve, Sabre, and I will go with Kylie to get Sabre back to his normal age. Then, we will meet you all back at the house, and, hopefully, with a 16 year old Sabre," I said with a smile. Everyone cheered once again. We ended the call there, not wanting to waste another moment.

"Ready to head on up?" Kylie asked gesturing to a wooden staircase. All three of us nodded our heads. Then, the most painful part came. The trudging up the stairs to the very top of the mountain.

We trudged and trudged, stopping to complain every few minutes. Kylie was unfazed, and was way ahead of us. Of course, she climbs this thing everyday. Of course she would be use to it.

"I wonder how long it took her to stop getting exhausted every few minutes?" I asked.

Void Steve asked while staring at her multicolored hair sway as she walked up the steps. I shrugged my shoulders.

"No clue," I responded.

"I'm tired... and my feet hurt!" Sabre whined loudly. I sighed. Quickly, I picked him up on my back. His arms draped around my neck, and his legs strapped themselves to my sides.

"Better?" I asked as I continued walking. Each step was more painful with the extra weight on my back. However, I couldn't just drop him and tell him to walk on his own, that he'd be fine.

"Yes! Much better now!" he exclaimed as he got comfortable on my back.

"Don't worry, guys! Only a few more steps to go!" Kylie yelled from above us. We all looked up to the top of the mountain, which actually wasn't that far, and to the smiling Kylie waving down at us.

Void Steve mumbled.

I sighed, and continued to trudge my way up the stairs.

We were almost to the top, and I can't say how relieved I was when I was able to see Kylie standing at the top waiting for us.

"Not too much more to go!" I exclaimed happily. However, the happy moment didn't last long. The wood below broke. How that happened, I wasn't sure. What I was sure about, though, was the fact we were falling.

"NO!" I heard Kylie yell as we fell all the way through. I was too shocked to scream, but Sabre wasn't. Void Steve was in the same state as me.

I braced myself. I was prepared to hit the ground and end my life right there. Suddenly, I felt myself stop falling. There was no impact. I looked over to Void Steve. He was stopped as well. A blue aura surrounded his body, and I saw my arm was surrounded by blue as well. I looked up to see Sabre floating in midair. His body was scrunched into a tiny ball, and his body was surrounded in blue as well. Sabre looked different, though.

"Sabre?" I asked softly. I felt myself being moved back up. Void Steve and Sabre moved upwards as well. "What's going on?"

Void Steve said in disbelief.

Within a minute, all three of use were at the top of the hill. Kylie's eyes were wide open. It took another few seconds for us all to land properly. The blue aura disappeared, then Sabre collapsed to the ground. I ran over to Sabre.

He groaned as I sat him up. I couldn't help but laugh a little at his groan of pain. He looks at me, I think. His bandana was still wrapped tightly around his eyes.

"Jake? When did powers become so hard?" he asked seriously. I laughed, but I almost instantly stopped.

"W-what did you say?" I asked staring at him in shock.

"When did powers become so hard for me? They use to be so much easier..." he said as he stood up. Suddenly, he flinched, like he just realized something. "I-I remember!"

Void Steve exclaimed.

"Everything! From Slade, my powers, even that new guy turning me into a child! Eww... I'm so young and gross and sticky!" Sabre exclaimed as he jumped to his feet. I smiled, then it fell. Then, it came back. My smile and frown switched a few times before I let out a huffed laugh.

"SABRE! SABRE YOU'RE BACK!" I yelled before engulfing my little bother in a hug. He yelped from shock, but it turned into a chuckle in no time.

"That's amazing. In all of my years of magical history, I've never seen this happen before," Kylie said with a smile.

"Well, I still can't wait till he's back to his normal age. I can't stand this toddler," I joked. He puffed his cheeks out and crossed his small arms.

"HEY! I CAN'T HELP MY CHILDISH ACTIONS!" he yelled in my face. I flinched a little bit, feeling his spit dance across my face. He let out a laugh, knowing exactly what happened. "Hahah! You got spit on your face! That's funny, brother!"

"I want teen Sabre back. Let's get this little thing started to make him older again," I said with a frown. Everyone laughed.

Void Steve said while walking over to Kylie. The joy for getting my younger bro back to normal made a smile form on my face, and it wasn't leaving anytime soon.
