《Jenlisa - When You Realize You Love Her (COMPLETED)》Thirty

The council office felt so quiet after the meeting but it wasn't completely empty. Jennie sat on the couch while Jisoo stood in front of her with a glare on her eyes, arms crossed over her chest.
"What?" that was what came out from Jennie's mouth after being stared by the girl in front of her.
"What happened with 'don't give Rosie a hope' that we agreed on before?"
"Oh," Jennie took a deep breath before she leaned backward against the couch which surprisingly felt comfortable. "I am planning to tell her about me dating Lisa. That we have mutual feelings which we can't hide it from her anymore. That's why I think we need to be alone and good timing she offers to go out this Sunday."
Hearing Jennie's explanation, Jisoo finally dropped both her hands to her side. A relief was clearly shown on her face. "Good." That was her short response. "But how about Lisa? I saw her leaving without even saying anything to you. I think you need to talk to her."
"I will talk to her. You don't need to tell me that."
In the following day, Lisa sat on the bleachers, alone. Yesterday after the meeting, she left in rush without even saying anything to Jennie. She knew Jennie saw her leaving and she kind of hoping that Jennie would chase after her and explained about the event happened earlier but she never did. Jennie didn't contact her at all after that which worried her a lot. She began to think that she had upset the older girl by leaving in rush and now that she gave her the silent treatment as a punishment. Lisa kept glancing at her phone and wanted to call Jennie. She was hurt and sad but at the same time she wanted to apologize. She was more scared that Jennie would be angry at her.
With the courage she had left despite being hurt, Lisa started to dial Jennie's numbers. It kept ringing for a few second and it already made Lisa felt anxious.
"Hello," Jennie finally answered and Lisa let out a relief breath quietly.
Lisa bit her lips not knowing what to say, she was ready to apologize but somehow the words were stuck in her throat; they wouldn't come out.

Both remained in silent and Lisa could only feel the steady breath across her phone. She felt a warm yet wet touch on her left cheek. She looked up, phone still attached to her right ear and found Jennie already sat next to her. Lisa's eyes widen as Jennie just kissed her cheek. She was slightly blushing. Jennie put her phone to her pocket and held Lisa's free hand which dropped on her side. Lisa then did the same, she put her phone inside her pocket and looked at Jennie.
"I am sorry," they both looked surprised since they said it at the same time. Lisa let out a light chuckle.
"Why are you sorry for?" Jennie asked half laughing. "I am sorry, Lisa. I didn't contact you yesterday. I was thinking about how I explained this to you and not to hurt you." Jennie's grip on Lisa's got tightened. Lisa listened to her carefully, eyes never left her.
"I am going to tell her about us. And I think going with her would be a perfect timing to do it. So please don't worry, okay? Trust me it's gonna be alright." Jennie for a second looked nervous. She was scared she had hurt the girl in front of her which was the last thing she would ever do.
Lisa looked down to the ground, thinking of what to say. She felt guilty for slightly thinking Jennie had hurt her right in front of her in which she didn't. She did it for their relationship and to end this secret. Lisa felt she should have been involved in this too since Rosie was her first friend and felt doubt to have Jennie alone to solve this.
"I want to tell her too. Rosie is my first friend and I feel like it would be fitting if it was me who told her." Lisa said while looking at Jennie.
Jennie rubbed Lisa's arm gently, "Let me handle this."
"But-"
"No buts." Jennie cut her off. "Let me talk to her first and when it is getting calmer, you may have your time with her. Deal?" Jennie added.
Lisa seemed not to have other choice so she nodded in approval. Jennie tug her fingers into Lisa's long blonde hair and stroke it gently. Her hand went to the back of Lisa's head and pulled her closer so their lips met each other for a tender kiss.

Sunday arrived faster than expected. Jennie and Rosie met up at this zoo. Rosie said she would love to see crocodiles and lions which she thought was adorable. Jennie frowned at Rosie's strange adoration towards those predators. She didn't want to make the girl sad, so she just nodded in agreement.
They went to see each animal and Rosie seemed happy. She at times clung her arms around Jennie's as if they were on a real date or maybe Rosie thought so. Jennie could only pray later when she announced about her relationship with Lisa, Rosie wouldn't collapse. Jennie thinking to at least fulfil Rosie's wish for today and made her happy.
Not far from where Jennie and Rosie were standing, there were a pair of eyes watching them. The figure wore black glasses, thick black coat with a cap, as if she was in disguise and no one would ever recognize her. She clicked her tongue when she saw how Rosie clung her arms around Jennie's and Jennie didn't seem bothered at all.
"Why would she let her do that? Her action would have made Rosie more hurt. That girl, seriously!" the girl stomped her feet on the ground, taking out her frustration. "What do you think, Lisa?" she looked at her side but her face come to frown when she didn't find Lisa. She turned around and Lisa was standing pretty distance, wearing exactly the same attire.
"I think it's not a good idea to stalk them, Jisoo sunbae." Lisa said more like in whisper. Jisoo sighed and walked towards Lisa.
"You agreed to come with me in the first place."
The truth was Lisa was forced to come by Jisoo. But since Lisa was also worried, she partially wanted to go too.
"Come on," Jisoo held Lisa by her wrist and Jisoo's eyes widen as they lost the sight of the two. "Where did they go?!" Jisoo started dragging Lisa to follow her looking for Jennie and Rosie.
Lisa and Jisoo had been following Jennie and Rosie all day. The sun slowly set and from the view of it, Rosie and Jennie would go back home. Hiding behind a pole, Jisoo and Lisa kept watching the two when they were conversing.
"Let's have dinner!" Rosie clung onto Jennie's arm. Jennie seemed mind because she was planning to end this right now, not to prolong until dinner time.
"Ehm..." Jennie seemed struggle to utter the simple sentence yet difficult to say. Jennie might be straightforward and fierce but when it came to the people she cared about, she turned soft, sometime.
"Say no!" Jisoo whispered from the distance. Lisa seemed worried too and thought why Jennie couldn't answer her immediately.
Rosie tilted her head as she watched Jennie's expression that seemed not interested. "What is it, Jen?" asked Rosie softly. Jennie just looked at Rosie, she froze.
Rosie took a deep breath before she added, "I know something is wrong. You are here with me but it feels like I am going with a robot not a human." This statement hit Jennie instantly.
"Why do you think so?"
"You have been following what I want to do, you keep saying yes to whatever I ask, you even agree with me when I playfully say those monkeys' ass are beautiful."
Jennie remained silent.
"It doesn't feel like you at all and I feel like you are not enjoying your time with me." Rosie released her hand which gripped on Jennie's arm.
"It's not like-"
"Then what is it? Tell me. Just be honest with me." Rosie cut her off, feeling impatient.
Jennie heaved a deep breath and looked at Rosie. Meanwhile, Jisoo and Lisa they both grabbed the pole tightly and also felt nervous. Jisoo would be ready to jump over there to comfort Rosie when she cried after being told the truth.
"Rosie, there is something I want to tell you," Jennie took a step forward and Rosie watched her rather calmly as if she had prepared for it beforehand.

Author's note: You are reading a first draft, written mostly while drinking cheap whiskey. Expect it to read like hot garbage and I guarantee that it’ll meet your expectations. I’m a storyteller, not a writer - there’s a huge difference between the two professions. IMPORTANT! This means that YOU and Emmett may have absolutely no idea why stuff is happening, because there will be little or no exposition or other POV's. Read the comments for spoilers, ask questions if you want to know something. This work incorporates blended aspects of Xianxia, Wuxia, Super powers, and Western Magic into a post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure. It is none of those things and all those things, mashed together. The MC is Over Powered, but so are many, many others. He just hasn't met them yet. Dear Student, What follows is an adaption of the diary of Emmett Carter before his Ascension. While the decades during and after the Aurora Apocalypse are lost to us, the Ascended himself has allowed us to publish this work so long as we warn the reader that it may not be entirely accurate or present an unbiased viewpoint of the events. One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers. If you’ve ever been in a natural disaster, had a house fire, witnessed a murder, lost a loved one to violence, or have a strong opinion on the sanctity of life, please do not read this. It contains dramatic scenes of a world in the throes of an apocalyptic event. There are no rainbows and unicorns, only loss, uncertainty, and death while the survivors struggle to rebuild their lives. Updates Thursdays and Sundays for now. Word count is about 2000 ~ 4000ish per chappie.

Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
