《The Nerdy Twin ✔️》Chapter Forty Eight

"Are we there yet?"Charlie whined behind me more impatient than ever.

"Soon."Willow replied answering on my behalf.

We had been driving for three hours to our new home after being on the road for more than two years. Instead of travelling for a year like we had planned we ended up loving it so much so we extended our trip and boundaries. We had been all over the world just the three of us. It hadn't been the plan but Willow had started posting our travels on social media and had gained a huge following on Instagram and Tiktok. We were approached by a few travel agencies who paid us to travel as long as we promoted their business. It was a win win for us.

"As much as I've loved the last two years, I will not miss the jet lag."Willow lamented as she stretched a few bones popping loudly.

"I know what you mean and I seriously can't wait to get back to real gaming. I mean portable pads are convenient but I miss my set up."I replied missing the feel of a real gaming pad in hand as I sat in my gaming chair as I played for hours.

"Well you can do all that as soon as we move in. The realtor assured me that that the house is fully furnished and all we have are our clothes so there won't be much to move in."Willow informed me.

"Did Jack confirm that he already shipped what we asked for?"I asked hoping he hadn't forgotten anything.

"Yeah I double checked with him this morning and he assured me that he shipped everything and we'll receive them tomorrow."Willow replied.

"Awesome."I grinned as I concentrated back on driving.

It had taken us three months to choose a state to move to and after much deliberation we had settled on New Hampshire. We didn't want to live in the city or near the ocean due to the heat. We all wanted beauty, serenity and a place cool enough to call our home.

"I already love this place."Willow sighed her gaze trained outside as we watched the trees pass by.

"It really is a great state and the weather is perfect for us."I concurred agreeing with her assessment.

"Do you think they have an arcade here?"Charlie asked when we saw the town in the distance.

It wasn't huge and reminded me a lot of Crescent but it was smaller and actually seemed different. It was still summer so a lot of people were milling around enjoying the sun.

"I'm not sure but you can look it up and if there isn't we can set one up."I suggested but was immediately given a disapproving look by Willow.

"What did we say about the big decisions?"She asked.

"We talk about them first. Sorry bud, we'll talk about this later."I apologized glancing at Charlie who looked at Willow unimpressed.

The two year trip had not been all sunshine and rainbows, we had disagreed and argued but we always found a way back into each others arms. Charlie acted out sometimes but Willow always knew how to deal with him. She was perfect in more ways than one and always knew what we all needed even when we didn't know it. Our relationship had grown stronger over the two years strengthening my belief that Willow was the one for me.

I drove past the town following the Gps towards our new home. The town wasn't small but it still wasn't where we wanted to live. We wanted our privacy so we had chosen a secluded cabin away from everyone else.

"There's the school you'll be joining when summer is over."Willow pointed out showing Charlie the school.

"Do I really have to? You guys can continue home schooling me."Charlie whined expressing his displeasure about that idea.

"We like having you around bud but it's about time you went back to a real school. You need to make new friends and have your own life. If we're to make this place home we need to start interacting with people and that involves you actually going to a real school."Willow replied.

"Alex is my best friend, I don't need any more."Charlie bargained.

"We're not asking you to replace Alex, just to broaden your circle."Willow said but Charlie did not look convinced.

We'd already agreed that he would go back to school, it would just take some time for him to adjust to that new arrangement. It was all for the best though as we couldn't home school him forever.

Ten minutes later we diverted from the main road towards the road that took us to our new home. It started peeking out as we went up the drive and three minutes later it was in full view so I stopped the RV and parked right in front of the house.

"Home sweet home."I commented as we all looked up at the house.

"Wow."Willow exclaimed next to me looking at the house in awe.

We had taken a huge risk buying the house without seeing it but we had wanted to save ourselves the numerous trips.

"It's bigger than the pictures."Charlie commented as he scrambled to get out of the RV.

Willow and I chuckled at his excitement as we too got out of the RV. The house really did look better than the pictures. It had a cabin feel to it and the fact that it was built right by the lake added it's aesthetic beauty.

"Our first real home together."Willow pointed out with a smile on her face.

"It's just you, me and Charlie."I replied kissing her temple.

"Guys come on."Charlie whined by the door.

"Okay, cool your jets we're coming."Willow replied with a laugh as she led us towards him.

She retrieved the key that had been mailed to us by the realtor and she opened the door. Charlie couldn't wait as he ran inside exclaiming at everything he saw. Willow was about to walk in when I stopped her.

"What's wrong?"She asked looking up at me.

"Nothing."I responded swooping in and capturing her lips in a short sweet kiss.

She looped her arms around my neck just like I wanted so I bent over a little and picked her up in my arms, bridal style. She squealed in surprise as she tightened her arms around my neck.

"What are you doing?"She asked with a laugh.

"Carrying you through the threshold."I replied with a smirk.

"That's only for newly weds."She retorted.

"Says who?"I challenged.

"History does, now put me down."She demanded.

"Nope."I said shaking my head.

She was about to argue when I kissed her shutting her up. Happy with how I'd handled her, I pushed the door open with my foot before carrying my beautiful girlfriend into our first home together.

"I love you."I confessed kissing her one more time.

"I love you too."She replied with a smile.

I carried her further into house and set her down in the living room.

We had already seen pictures of the house online but it was so much better seeing it in person. It was larger and more spacious that we thought. The living room had a whole glass wall on one side that had a perfect view of the lake, three grey couches facing the huge wall TV screen that made the living room look like a movie theatre.

I followed Willow as she looked around the house making sure it was to her liking. The kitchen was a mix of brown wood and white marble with a lot of light coming from the numerous windows. Willow liked to cook so she loved how well equipped it was. It was a four bedroom house that extended far and wide since it had one story instead of a mansion.

Charlie has already chosen his bedroom so we moved to the master bedroom. It was decorated in white and light greys. There was a huge glass in front of the bed where the TV was mounted. We had our own closet and en suite bathroom.

"I think I'm in love."Willow declared getting into the empty bath tub.

"I don't blame you, it really is a beautiful bathroom, but you can't have sex with it so I still win."I replied with a smirk.

"Keep telling yourself that, all I have to a is set the pressure just right in the handheld shower and I'm good to go."Willow retorted.

"Couldn't let me have my moment could you?"I asked with a frown.

"No can do baby, can't let your ego get too big."Willow grinned getting out of the tub.

"Let's just go unload the RV, we need to get settled in."I said walking past her.

She joined me outside a few minutes later with a grumbling Charlie in tow. We were all tired but if we put off moving stuff into the house we'd never get anything done. After an hour of emptying the RV, I parked it in the garage while Willow got to unpacking. After I was done I found her in the closet unpacking our suitcases.

"We need to buy a car."I suggested as I started helping her.

"True, we can't use the RV everywhere we go."Willow replied.

"We'll get a jeep for now and you can buy your own car unless you want Jack to send you the truck."I suggested.

"No need, he uses it since its more toddler friendly than his Camero. I'll probably buy one too, an audi maybe."Willow replied with a shrug.

I nodded knowing that those decisions could wait until we were fully settled in. After a while Willow left me to finish up while she went to check up on Charlie and make sure he was unpacking.

My phone rang interrupting the quiet silence that I was shrouded in. I picked up immediately when I saw that it was Jack calling.

"Hi Jack."I greeted taking the call as a chance to take a break.

"Hello Henry. How's the move coming along?"He asked.

"It's great, we love the house, it's better than we expected. We just have to get settled in before we go exploring. How's Hannah and Will?"I inquired.

Willow had been elated when Jack and Hannah named their son after her. Jack had wanted a girl but he still loved Will with all his heart. We went back to Crescent a few times since we left. We'd been there for Will's birth, Jack and Hannah's wedding when Will was six months old and we'd spent the previous Christmas there. Nothing much had changed since we left and each time we had been there we had avoided my parents at all cost. Matthew had taken our advice to figure out his own life so he had moved to California, on the other side of the country away from our parents.

"They are both good, Will is growing like a weed and Hannah is not happy about that. She apparently wants him to remain a baby forever."Jack replied making me laugh.

"Enjoy his innocent phase as much as you can, in a few years he'll be uncontrollable."I consoled.

"Not helping but I'll try. Anyway the real reason I called is to ask if you've sprouted balls yet."Jack asked.

"What do you mean?"I countered even though I had an inkling as to what he was talking about.

"Don't act dumb, you've had the ring for three months now. You better ask soon dude, you're in a new town and new possibilities for her to move on from you."Jack answered.

"Are you trying to scare me?"

"Is it working?"

"No. Yes. Look, I'll do it soon okay, just get off my case already."I demanded.

"You do you Henry but remember to step up. Willow is a catch and anyone would be lucky to have her so you better lock it down."Jack advised.

"I will but for now I hear Will crying."I pointed out.

"Shit, I'm on diaper duty. Talk soon just don't forget what we just talked about."Jack rushed out.

"I will, say hello to Will for me."I replied before hanging up.

After the call ended I tossed my phone away before reaching into my suitcase. I found the secret compartment and received the black jewelry box in it. I opened it to reveal a hexagon green mossy agate engagement ring. I had bought it three months ago when we were in Paris intending to propose to her at the Eiffel tower but I had chickened out. Ever since then I had been trying to look for the perfect moment but it seemed like the longer I waited, the more the excuses I found to delay it.

I wanted to propose to Willow and make her my wife but that scared nerd who had been afraid to ask her out three years ago always showed up when I wanted to pop the question.

A pair of familiar footsteps had me quickly stashing the ring in my pocket and try to look busy. Willow didn't get in, just walked right past the bedroom heading to another side of the house. Just like Jack has advised I needed to get over my fear and propose soon.

One hour later I was done with everything and Willow still hadn't returned so I went to seek her out. I found Charlie busy setting up our gaming equipment in the basement that had been transformed into a sort of gaming room.

"Where's your sister?"I asked when I didn't seen any sign of Willow down there.

"She said she needed some fresh air so she's probably outside."Charlie replied.

"Okay, I'll go find her then come back and help you set up."I answered.

"That's fine but Jack asked me to tell you to stop being a wuss and just ask, whatever that means."Charlie said with a shrug.

Jack and his big mouth would get me into big trouble one day.

"He was talking about me proposing to your sister."I told Charlie figuring out there was no need to keep it from him.

"You want to marry Willow?"Charlie asked straightening up.

"Yeah, would you be okay with that?"I inquired.

Charlie seemed to think about it for a moment before he replied.

"It's really none of my business but you two love each other and you make my sister happy. As long as you take care of her and treasure her, it's okay with me."Charlie replied indirectly giving me his blessing.

He sounded much older than his ten years which was to be expected as he usually interacted with adults besides when he hang out with Alex online.

"Thanks bud, I'll be back."I said before walking back upstairs and finding my way to the patio where Willow was.

The sun was setting and she was leaning against the glass wall looking out into the lake. Her curves were perfectly accentuated and I found myself getting hard which was inappropriate but I didn't care. My girlfriend was sexy and I was a warm blooded male. It would be weird if I didn't react.

Composing myself I walked towards her and wrapped my arms around her waist. She relaxed in my arms and leaned back against my chest.

"Wanna hear something weird?"Willow asked after we'd stood in silence for a few minutes.

"I love weird."I smiled kissing her hair.

"I can honestly see myself growing old here. I know that's random and we just moved in but it feels like home already."Willow confessed.

"Am I next to you when you think about that future?"I asked randomly.

"Yes, definitely yes. There's no one else I'd want to be old and gross with. It's only ever been you."Willow replied kissing my bicep.

Her words hit me deep and erased all doubt I'd built in my head the last few months ever since I bought the ring. Without thinking I pulled away from her and went down on one knee. I pulled out the ring and held it out.

"Where are you going?"Willow asked turning around.

She gasped when she saw me looking up at her with the ring sparkling in the sunset. Her hand was clasped around her mouth, eyes wide in surprise.

"I've been twisting myself around for months trying to find the right moment and the perfect time to ask you this but the time was never right. I've realized that if I keep waiting for the right moment it might never come so I'll just create one right here. Willow ever since you ran into me at the arcade three years ago, I was hooked. You were phenomenal from the beginning and I'm always in awe of your beauty, strength and wisdom. You are perfect all round and I'm honored to call you my girlfriend but that's not enough anymore. I want you to be my wife and for us to proclaim our love in front of God, friends and family. I love you Willow and I will love your forever so will you please do me the honor of becoming my wife."I rambled on letting out all that I had been holding in.

Willow looked as if she was in a trance as she alternated between looking at my face and the ring.

"Say yes."Charlie screamed behind us.

I smiled as I turned around to see Charlie standing behind us with a camera in hand recording us.

"So what do you say. Will you marry me Willow Cooper?"I asked one more time.

Willow nodded as she held out her hand for me.

"Yes I'll marry you."She sniffed wiping the tears away with her right hand.

I slid the ring onto her finger before getting up and pulling her into my arms kissing her soundly. Hearing her say yes was one of the best things to ever happen to me.

"Yes, you're getting married, I'm calling Jack."Charlie cheered running to hug us.

We hugged him back before he pulled away to call Jack.

"I love you and I love my ring. Thank you for asking me to be your wife."Willow sniffed looking at her ring.

"I love you more. Thank you for saying yes."I smiled kissing her once again.

Charlie interrupted up with a call from Jack and Hannah who were happy for us. Jack wouldn't stop teasing me about finally finding my balls until Hannah made him stop.

I was the happiest I'd ever been and it was all to the gorgeous beauty in my arms who wouldn't stop looking at her ring. It was a symbol of my love for her and the commitment I wanted to have for the rest of our lives. I would always be grateful that she chose me, the nerdy twin and would spend the rest of my life making sure she never regretted that decision.
