I was currently dragging Rakshit like I was the owner and he was my pet dog too stubborn to come back from a long walk.

See, what I did there?

"What the hell melon, stop dragging me first." Saying that, he jerked his hand from my grip and glared at me to which I narrowed my eyes.

"And secondly, where were you dragging me like a dog?"

Bahah see why I call y'all soulmates.

"To the vet as you said that you are my dog," I smiled, a very very extra sweet smile by the way, you know that sort of grin which shows all your 32 teeth, yaa that one.

This time, he only sighed and without saying another word went and sat in my car himself.

101 reasons from y'all to be soulmates and this is the second one: understanding.

Yaa, okay and anything else?

Why does my mind sound like it just paid a visit to Wattpad? I need to keep it in check.

Looking around, I swiftly made my way to my car and started driving.

Not really knowing where we were actually going, not that I was bothered about the speed in which I was driving because all I was bothered about was the explanation that Rakshit had to give me.

"Rakshit, you owe me an explanation today and that's final."

Past midnight, chilly breeze, us together and same situation with a twist. Fate really had a way with us.

After haunting for a hotel like a lion haunting for its prey we were now in a big room, currently sitting on the bed facing each other.

The chilliness this time in the air wasn't like the one during our first encounter. This time it was as serious as a dead man walking from his coffin.

Well, that sounds more like haunted than serious. But whatever.

I could feel the aura of the room changing it wasn't usually like that most of the time when we were together, it would always be light and and serene due to our stupid banters but now, we weren't bantering and that pointed to the reasons of seriousness.

"Melon, I know I should've told you before but I didn't. Because I thought that if I had kept that as a secret than I wouldn't put your life in danger but I was wrong. In fact it made it more worse. I swear I never knew this would go more far. I would never put your life in trouble nor anyone's else's who would've been in your place." Right now his hands were cupping my face making me look at him, but I was more lost in understanding what was happening.

Yaa yaa, sure honey, you don't know anything. I believe you (na, surely not)

His words were making my heartbeats run fast, it had been more than weeks and I knew his touch made me fell things.

Hell! What is happening?

I wandered my attention back to Rakshit who was the only one knew the hell that was going around me and him as well.

"Rakshit? What is it?" I asked him softly.

Rakshit's hands fell off my face and the tingles of cool breeze hit the places that were an exception before due to the warmth of his hands.

"I don't know how you'll behave after I tell you but please just be calm." I nodded at him giving him the cue to continue.

"You know that day when you asked me what I do, I didn't give you the answer but I guess today I'm going to tell you."

"Don't guess just tell me you dumbass. Because you know me by now that if I guess it'll not be good for you and in the end, I'll end up laughing and you'll end up pouting and glaring like a five year old so…" I mean yaa literally that's what happens every time when I guess so better that he spills the tea (or coffee in his place).

"Melon?" I looked at Rakshit who was now pinching the bride of his nose and rolling his eyes.

"Yes?"

"Shut up." I opened my mouth but closed it again seeing Rakshit giving me a 'one-word-more-and-I'm-going-to-throw-you-out' look.

"So it's that, I'm a secret agent and I'm on my mission to protect one valuable thing and that's the reason that we are being chased by armed mens and the reason for you being stuck here with me." He opened his eyes, slowly, one by one and I admit he looked cute, like a school boy who had just told his mother about the mischief that he did today. I am sure he expected me to gasp and look at home wide eyed but I simply said.

"And?" And sipped my tea leaning my head on the headboard. After all I was a tea drinker so spilling the tea was normal for me. If you know you know what I meant. No pun intended.

Now it was he who was staring at me wide eyed. While I simply sat back and sipped another sip of my tea. After all he spilled the tea so I was consuming it (once again no pun intended).

"What?" I raised my cup and wiggled my eyebrows at him but he started down besides me and started checking my forehead to check if I had fever, which only made me swat his hand away.

"Are you fine?"

"Of course, I am. Idiot! Stop it I'm fine"

"Na, it's that if I had told someone else about this than right now I would be hearing gasps and screams. But you know you are different." He chuckled making me give him proud looks.

"I know right? I'm different."

"Unique will be the right word." He corrected while shaking his head with a chuckle.

"But you know in movies they show that you can't reveal your id, but right now you told me so isn't that sort of invalid."

"It is, but I had to tell you and who will you tell anyways. I trust you."

Just three words, nine letters in one sentence and that were enough to make me smile.

He trusted me and I wasn't letting this trust go.

"You know if right now I tell you that what's the thing I'm protecting you wouldn't be happy I bet on it." And now ladies and gentlemen, my mood changed very quickly making me give him a suspicious look.

"And that is?" I asked him, standing up after him.

"Well, follow me." And I did.
