《Raising Rio》27| betrayal

Rio looked at her mother with many mixed emotions, most of them being solely related with anger, but with sadness and betrayal also.

How could a mother do that to her own child? How could a mother fight the primal instincts to protect their child and instead do the complete opposite of what a mother is supposed to do?

Rio was utterly confused. Confused as to why Charlotte would willingly nominate her only daughter to be put onto a list where Rio's fate is sealed instantly.

Rio was as good as dead at this point.

Riri's hand shook violently, the once firm grip on the weapon that would seal either hers or her mother's fate was slowly diminishing.

She looked down on Charlotte, her sole focus was her-everything in the room was drowning out. She was like a horse with blinkers-her main priority was what was going on in her frontal line of vision.

Narrowing her eyes at her mother's shaking frame, she took one step forward, making Charlotte flinch at the abrupt action.

"What do you think Dad is going to do once he finds out the love of his life tried to get his youngest child killed, hm?" Rio taunted the unrecognisable woman before her. "From what I can remember before you all sent me away is that Dad doesn't take betrayal upon his family very lightly and as far as I am concerned you are way past being considered family!"

Both Carson and Cassius stood away watching the family drama unfold, Cassius being the un remorseful swine he is wished he had a bowl of popcorn and many snacks, whilst Carson on the other hand just wished he could help her.

However, he knew Rio needed to do this on her own: plus he hadn't forgot what happened mere minutes ago and he wasn't going to let her off so lightly.

"Rio, baby please you need to let me explain I wasn't-" Charlotte tried to explain before she was interrupted by the loud sound of heavy footsteps hurriedly that made their way into the room.

Everyone in the room directed their vision on the number of bodies that had made their presence known, that being Franco, Frankie, Luca and Marcello-the Esposito boys.

Franco focused on the scene in front of him as the three boys looked very confused with a hint of anger, as they realised their younger sister was holding an object they never wished for her to hold.

The leader of the Esposito clan took a very few steps forward with extreme caution, the sight of his youngest child holding a gun at her side as she was stood in front of the love of his life, who was kneeled on the ground with her hands held tightly by some random stronzi made his blood boil.

(Translation: fucktards)

"Oh, how lovely of you to join the party dear father, the more the merrier as they say!" Rio spat and suddenly raised the gun in direction of her mother's head; the unpredictable action made everyone in the room let out shocked gasps.

Carson being the protective boyfriend he is took a few fast steps towards his girlfriend, not wanting her to make a decision that she may soon regret.
