《Raising Rio》26| the clash

Rio looked at Carson in sadness and shock, not knowing whether he was directing the statement at her or Cassius-either way both outcomes where not going to be pretty.
"Carson, please!" Rio shuffled towards her boyfriend, who she didn't think was her boyfriend anymore. Out of the two years or so they had been together, they've never once had an argument as big as this.
Yes they bickered, but as do most couples.
This however was something both of them have never had to deal with before and in Rio's opinion she never wanted to deal with something like this ever again.
With a hesitant hand Rio reached towards Carson's arm only for him to pull away from her abruptly. "I swear to god Rio, don't touch me!"
Gripping his hair in his hands, Carson looked towards Cassius with desperation in his eyes. "Please just carry on."
Even in moments of great sadness, Carson still used his manners like the gentleman he was raised to be. With a firm nod, Cassius began telling his side of the story-he knows what pain Carson must be going through seen as though he went through something similar at a younger age.
He couldn't help but feel sorry for the teenager.
"Obviously when word got out that Rio had been put onto the list, Franco the whiny bastard did everything in his power to try and figure out which person had in fact betrayed them.
Unfortunately after months of searching there was still no luck and many attempts had been made against the toddlers life."
Cassius smirked evilly.
"Or did he try everything? You see one key thing that seemed to have slipped his mind is that he never looked into whether his own family had betrayed them-he didn't look deep enough."

Rio being the inpatient girl that she is interrupted him. "What the fuck are you talking about? My father updated my grandparents thoroughly on whether there was any changes, even as the years passed on and he made sure to interview everyone in the mafia!"
Standing from his chair he strolled towards Rio with a pep in his step, before he could get within her proximity Carson subconsciously moved closer to Rio.
As much as it broke his heart that Rio didn't tell him the full truth, he still had the undying need to protect her despite their little dispute.
"Let's bring in another guest, shall we?" Cassius spoke, he was taunting Rio and his inner evilness loved it.
"Oh dear Charlotte, we would love for you to join us!"
Being dragged through the half disintegrated doors by two armed men, Charlotte was shoved to the floor on her knees in front of both Rio and Carson.
Tears streamed down her face as her hands trembled in the rope they were tied in, at that moment she was weak, vulnerable.
Her once filled belt full of weapons of the sort was no more, she was nothing without her weapons.
Rio putting two and two together took multiple steps back from the people near her. She felt betrayed, betrayed that her own mother failed at the one thing she was meant to do.
Keeping her safe from harm.
"All along I thought you were just trying to protect me, I thought you were getting in touch again to rekindle the mother-daughter relationship I dreamed of. When as a matter of fact you where just trying to get me killed!" Rio screamed, reaching into her belt she pulled out a knife and threw it above her mother's head, landing in the wall behind it.

Rio was raging, fuck that she was absolutely furious.
Pulling out her gun she shot bullets into the ceiling above her, everything she was doing was warning shots. She wanted her egg-giver to feel the same fear that she felt as a toddler, the teenager wanted her to realise she was as good as dead to her.
She wanted her to die.
