The constant sound of ringing ran through Rio's ears, all she could see was clouds of smoke above her and the feeling of pain in her left side.
Only then did she realise that she was in fact sprawled across the floor with her arms and legs in the most awkward, uncomfortable positions that even Carson didn't put her in.
She had no doubt broke more than a couple of bones, even if they were minuscule.
Observing her surroundings she saw that the once glamorous and pristine restaurant was no more and that it looked like a tornado had hit.
Almost all the tables had collapsed with pieces of wood thrown everywhere, all the windows surrounding the perimeter of the building had been shattered and the walls what once held beautiful paintings was near enough rubble.
Only then did she realise that her family was most probably underneath the rubble. With the adrenaline running through her veins, Rio being the strong girl she is tried moving her arms to push her into an upright position.
Moving her arms caused her an immense amount of pain to surge through her chest cavity, sucking in a large breath she let out whimpers of agony.
To her own knowledge she had either broken some ribs or fractured them.
However, the only thing on her mind was making sure her family was alive, especially Carson.
"Carson!" Rio frantically wheezed as she finally managed to sit in an upright position. "Carson!"
With no reply, worry began to settle in her chest. If she lost him she may as well lose herself-he was her whole word and maybe even more.
"Nona, Popo!" Riri screamed loudly, once she had found her family she would be up and out of the restaurant; hell she would get on the next flight back to Brazil.

Realising that nobody was in fact responding to her, the young girl's worst nightmares were becoming reality. "No, no, no, no, no!"
She was fearing the worst, who knows what their condition was. All Rio knew was that she needed to get help and find them sooner rather than later.
Mustering up all the courage and determination that she could, Riri used all of her upper body strength and lifted herself from her sprawled out position on the floor. Not realising that she was severely injured she let out another agonising scream.
Once the pain had lessened she limped over to the closest secure object in the room that being a sculpture of some Greek god and leaned against it for support so she could look around the restaurant for someone.
Yet there was nobody, all you could see was the thick smoke and bits of wire hanging from the ceiling and just remains of what was once her favourite restaurant.
For what seemed like hours later a loud banging noise came from the doors to the restaurant as if something or someone was trying to break it through.
Rio could only hope for the best, but where does hope get you these days.
After many futile attempts from whoever was trying to gain access, the door burst open and in came piling dozens of soldiers dressed in all black military uniforms.
'Who the fuck invited them?' Rio thought to herself, however she retracted that thought when an all too familiar person stalked through the premises.
Riri immediately recognised the person be the creepy ass old man from the ice cream parlour from all those years ago, but what she didn't expect was another all too familiar person to follow the creepy man.
Cassius?
Authors Note:
Whoops I left it on another cliff hanger but it's better than nothing am I right?
Well what do you all think is going to happen next? Has Cassius betrayed Franco and his mafia or has he in fact come to save the Esposito/Aidensfield family.
I'll let you discuss among yourselves.

8 173Knight and Deserter
The year is 1039 of Autorm, and nothing has changed. The Knight Seekers still patrol the old highways, death is common in life, and justice is but an afterthought. Power is the unspoken truth, wealth is a means to an end. Anything else becomes irrelevant. The novel takes place in the fictional Kingdom of Spartha. The story revolves mainly around the adventure of two characters. Leondre vae Marras, the fourth son of a Marquis. A prodigy in the Royal Military Academy, and aspiring Knight-errant. Albeit he's still a teenager, naive, and also inexperienced with the outside world. He is also one of the few knights to take the code of Chivalry seriously. Then there's Cendric Forrester, the bastard of a decorated Knight. Sold off in servitude to the Order of the Knights Seeker, to unwillingly pay his mothers debt. He's tired of being the Orders pet hound. Ruthless to those standing in his way, and disillusioned with Chivalry and the world around him. Cendric is a survivor, and firmly believes one should have their own self interests in mind. Two opposites of a coin, the only thing they have in common besides their ire for each other is blood. They're cousins surprisingly, not that it really matters.

With her cover blown, she's sent into foreign lands to hunt down five powerful crystals and stop him from rebuilding the weapon that would leave him invincible, and both human and dragon lands destroyed. But war is brewing in the human kingdom. Social unrest is shaking every city and the web of rebellion is on the hunt for Lightbloods, making her a glowing target. Enemy ears are everywhere and secrets run deep, even in the people closest to her.
