《Here》Chapter Fourteen

I glared at the plate of food in front of me.
"You need to eat." Lorenzo commented as he was doing the dishes.
"I'm not hungry." I stated, pushing the plate away and laying my head on the table.
The room was silent except the casual click of the dishes.
He had finished his food a long time ago.
I would have left the kitchen by now. That is if my legs wouldn't have been tied to the chair.
Things have been on edge since I punched him a few days ago.
Since he ripped my nail off.
It was healing nicely, as my injury from the piece of metal was.
There was still a slight scab on my side, kind of a decent sized one, but the edges of it have been shrinking as my skin healed.
My face was clear now. Since I scraped it on the concrete at my neighbors house.
No new injuries other than a few bruises from fighting with him.
Thankfully.
It is untelling when he will snap again. Maybe he will rip off a few more nails next time when he does.
An agitated huff interrupted me from my thoughts.
I looked up at him as he leaned against the counter with his arms crossed, frowning at me.
All the clean dishes were put away.
"You're the most difficult woman I've ever met." He said.
"You're the most selfish ass I've ever met."I responded.
My whole body tensed as he strutted forwards towards me quickly.
I squeezed my eyes shut, fully expecting to be slapped.
My hair was tucked behind my ear and a warm hand grasped my cold chin.
I slowly opened my eyes, peeking at his facial expression to see how mad he was.
His facial expression was calm.

"Please eat something." He requested softly.
"No." I stated.
"Fruit?" He questioned hopefully.
"No." I answered once again.
I was pushing him and I knew it, yet somehow I couldn't stop myself from doing it.
"Anything?" He questioned again, remaining calm.
I sat quiet a minute.
"No." I answered lightly.
"Why?"
His dark brown eyes studied me carefully.
"You've lost a little weight, you know." He added.
He's not wrong.
"I'm fine." I growled.
He smiled lightly, then began undoing the ropes.
"Okay." He simply said.
I squinted at him in suspicion.
Surely something was up.
He placed the ropes on the table, grabbing my untouched plate of food and scraping the food into the trash can.
The kitchen window now had bars on the outside of it.
Great.
He placed my dishes in the sink and began doing them.
Maybe I could run?
Too soon. I actually don't want to lose anymore nails at the moment.
I need him to trust me before I try again.
"Why did you take me?" I asked him quietly.
He placed the now clean dishes in the cabinet, then turned towards me, in thought.
He slowly walked to the table and then sat down.
"You actually want to talk now?" He asked, eyebrows raised.
I stared at him.
"I saw you." He answered, shrugging his shoulders.
"More specific." I demanded.
He sighed.
"I... knew your mother per say." He answered.
He sat still staring at me as I stared at him with no expression on my face, waiting for him to continue.
"You remember her wreck, yes?"
I nodded, knowing I never told him about it.
"My uncle was in the passenger seat." He continued, "Him and I were very close. He had a thing for your mother and they were starting to see each other. They went to a bar together on a date..." he stopped.

I slowly put the pieces together.
"I remember him." I told him.
"Well... he died in the accident too. I went to your mothers funeral. I was 19 and that was the first time I saw you."
"I was 14." I whispered, "that's disgusting Lorenzo."
"Maybe to you." He answered. "But I grew an obsession with you. I began to follow you, waiting for a chance to introduce myself. I never found one so I let it go."
"That is until a few months ago. I seen you in that park. I knew that was a sign."
I remained quiet.
"That's why." He said, observing me for a reaction.
He's delusional.
He stood up, and walked over to me whilst offering his arm to help me stand.
I objected it and stood up without his help.
I started towards the room fully expecting to be chained to the bed again but my arm was met with a strong grip pulling me backwards.
"No. You're not going back to the room for a while."
I let out a breath I had been holding since he grabbed my arm.
He pulled me into the living room and left me standing alone as he made his way towards shelves full of movies.
"Any requests?" He asked.
I ignored him and picked at the oversized beige knitted sweater he had given me.
I wish I could say I was wearing shorts under it, but there wasn't any in the closet.
The sweater came down to just above my knees and hung loosely on my shoulders, my hair cascading down my back to my waist in messy curls.
I bit the inside of my cheek as I watched him stand up to turn the light out and shut the curtains, sitting on the couch.
"Come on." He said, patting the spot on the couch right beside him.
I sat down on the opposite side of the couch.
He frowned at me, motioning for me to move next to him once again.
I laid my head on my arm in response.
Suddenly he stood up and walked over to me, grabbing my wrists and pulling me towards him.
"Stop it." I protested, struggling against him.
He grunted in response and pulled us both down to the couch, grabbing my waist and pulling me into him.
My body went stiff from coming into contact with his.
I pushed myself forward. He was trying to freaking cuddle me.
"Calm down." He whispered in my ear.
He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into him once again, holding me forcefully.
I laid there stiffly, as the beginning of the movie began to start.
It was unfamiliar to me.
I tried to get myself into the group of people going camping in the opening scene to distract myself from the body heat coming from Lorenzo.
